Looking for somewhere quiet to eat with the other half's family, we wanted to stay away from the centre of Luz, so headed to Amici's. Now known as Borsalino & Amici due to new ownership, it appears to have had a small makeover (according to the other half's parents, who have spent many a summer in Luz) but remains one of the best Italians in the area.
After a large lunchtime bbq, there were varying levels of hunger around the table, and the large menu of salads, seafood, pizza, pasta and meat offered something for everyone.
I went back and forth on a few options but eventually landed on the spinach ravioli with tomato sauce. It was the perfect portion size for the evening, and the past done perfectly al dente. Other dishes around the table included a goat's cheese salad - very generous for a salad, with two rounds of goat's cheese! - lasagne, prawns with rice, and a pasta dish with bacon, garlic and onion. A small garlic and cheese bread was also ordered for mopping up the last of everyone's sauces.
We had two bottles of wine, one red and one white, which were bought over very quickly and the white wine remained well chilled throughout the evening in the ice bucket provided. There was no room for dessert, but some coffees and limoncellos saw us finish off a very relaxed evening. read more
