Shopped for a well made sofa that would be comfy for a short person. This is a family run business and I dealt with both father and son. Son Andrew was very nice and after looking at other local businesses we came back to Borys because of more choices. The furniture is built in the USA and my sofa and chair arrived on time and is sturdy and beautiful. I also dealt with the father who does not have Andrew's charm, but was very good at helping me match pillow fabric to accent the sofa. Very pleased! Oh, and by the way, Andrew showed up with my furniture covered with protectors and delivered it and took away my old furniture with a helper. They are hard workers! I will shop there again. I have to echo the other comments here. I truly do not recommend Borys. The first time I went in there a few years ago, I dealt with guy who was apparently the son; very nice, helpful and had the living room set I wanted. Went back to buy and got the old man, apparently the father. I found him less than attentive but never less bought the set because I wanted it and spent almost $3,000. Fast forward, went back recently to buy matching chair, an easy walk-in sure fire sale. Got old man again, and try as I might to make it a quick and easy purchase, he was condescending and acted as though he were doing me a favor to look up the previous order, manufacturer,etc. Then he very unapologetically and with absolutely no salesmanship, quoted a very high figure and it would take 5 weeks. Well, in the end, I have to thank rude old Borys man; I found the exact same chair somewhere else for $150 less and I'll have it in 5 days. So, NOW I'm happy. read more

Four years ago, we purchased a sofa w/recliner and a chair recliner. Loved the furniture, but...somehow one of the screws/bolts - a small one - on the recliner mechanism "disappeared," got vacuumed up, whatever - it needed to be replaced. My wife and I tried to use a conventional combination of washers, nuts and a bolt to take its place. Nothing worked so we decided to go back to Borys. The owner/manager could not have been more rude. He didn't tell us to get out of the store, but he had absolutely interest in helping us. So I went to Lazy-Boy on Riverdale Street in West Springfield. A salesman even walked me down into the cellar where the parts guy was. I can't say enough about both of them. So...at Borys we spent over $2200 and were treated like crap. Bought a mattress some time ago. Well, after a year, it sagged and wore out. It was under warranty. I went in, was treated rather rudely by the older man, owner. I did not hear back, so I called, and was yelled at over the phone. However, five months later, the replacement did come in. Times I had to call on progress, I was treated poorly. And prior to that, bought a chair, and when it was delivered, the kid actually pressured me for a five dollar tip. Never again. read more

We have bought furniture from this pace a few different times now. The son is a pretty nice kid, and he is the one I dealt with on first couple of occasions. We recently purchased a sofa table from the father, he was an arrogant prick. The only reason I bought from them is because my wife was looking for a sofa table forever, and fell in love with the one on display...we called a few days later and asked them to order the matching coffee table, and were treated like crap. He claimed he ordered it and it would be in within a few weeks. We gave it a month or so, then called back, was told "yeah it will be here this week". We waited a few more weeks, and I stopped in after work, and was treated like this was my first time asking for,the matching coffee table.....this place SUCKS....I will never step foot in there again...I can proudly say I have stopped at least two people from doing business with them based on my experiences.....#neveragainborys read more

I have been doing business with Bory's for quite a long time. Best customer service and their quality of furniture is by far some of the nicest pieces anywhere to be found. Nearly every room in the home has furniture from Bory's and frankly I would not go any where else. read more

Sorry, but this guy is so arrogant and obnoxious I was reluctant to go back but when I did and decided on a piece of furniture, I said I was going to shop around for the best price I could get.. He then mentioned a competitor that he said under cut him every time and was not happy about it, I said that establishment does not offer financing like he did. I left that day and did shop around for pricing and when I tried to order the piece elsewhere, they were told they could not take the order for that style by the manufacturer who mentioned Bory's was upset and this guy knew which style I wanted And this other place said as soon as they tried to order it they were stopped because Bory and was going to make sure I could not get it else where cheaper and heard but cannot verify, he threatened to not sell their line anymore if they let this other place order that item and also had limits put on what they could order from that manufacturer going forward. Pretty extreme lengths to go to I'd say and it says a lot about the character of a person to do this. I grew up in Chicopee and have told everyone I know about this guy and would not recommend this store to anyone. Just imagine if you did and had a problem with your purchase what kind of person you would have to deal with. Just a buyer beware notice and saddened people can be so vicious and nasty. Needless to say I did not get the price from Bory's and made another choice elsewhere. read more
