I'll give it to you straight - if you are a beginner like I am, and questioning whether a bike fit is necessary or not; IT IS! At the very least, it is necessary here with Andrew. Idk how other bike fits go since I am very new to the sport, but with this place being my only metric, it is a 10/10 for me. Just wanted to let people I've had the best week of riding for both mountain and road. I bring all my bikes to Bosco Bike Fits. Recently, I've been riding more because riding has been a true pleasure with my bike fit. I've PR'd like crazy. For Mandeville Canyon, 3 weeks ago I PRd my best time by 1.5 mins. Tuesday of this week I PR'd that time by a whopping 2:21 seconds! WTF. Today, I crushed it on mountain as well. If i could give Andrew 10 stars, i would. First of all, i spent a lot of time researching and trying to find bike fitters. THIS DUDE KNOWS HIS STUFF! You can tell it's his passion the minute you meet it. I knew i needed one as i was getting numb feet, i had no idea how to set up my bike properly and no idea HOW MUCH goes into getting a good fit on a bike. I emailed a few people about bike fits, what drew me to BoscoBikeFits was the website, background in cycling (i am from a bmx street/DH racing background) and customer service. Andrew was the first one to reply back and was able to actually work around my schedule to do a fit when he usually did not work during the times i was available. Which was awesome. When i got there we started with some interview questions then went into the fit, with stretches, feet diagnosis, the whole nine yards. I would have never know this was even things to precisely get your bike perfect. Once on the Trainer he stickers you up and starts his thing. Adjusts things here and there, any questions he explains why he is doing this and that and the benefits of why he is suggesting these. Took quite a few hours but it's well worth it. I rode my bike on a trainer on a rotating platform so he could video me from all angles while riding. This bike fit was the best investment that I could make for my triathlon and cycling training and racing. He has done this for HUNDREDS of clients and I bet they ALL left happy. You need this to make easy gains in cycling. I went in with a bad aero position and having a bad problem with my quads cramping and knees hurting in my bike. I am 21, I should not have these problems! After answering his questions we went to assess my feet. This was one of the most informational parts of the entire fit. He is an expert in this area and I cannot rave about this enough! He recommended me insoles, they are an amazing investment too! They are not that expensive and your pedaling will feel so much better! After that we went into a mobility and strength assessment. He was professional and gave me tons of useful information. I can't recommend Bosco Bike Fits highly enough. Andrew is courteous, professional, and caring, and the coffee selection is outstanding! Over 30+ years of competitive cycling, I've developed a pretty good sense of how to sit on a bicycle, but I've also acquired some injuries and bad habits and ended up tinkering with my position trying to compensate: a little lower, a little higher, longer stem, shallower bars, wider bars, seat back, seat forward. So I went in to see Andrew mostly looking for a "reset." After a thorough analysis and filming of me on both my bike and the fit bike in his neat, well-appointed studio, Andrew moved my cleats to a position I'd never tried and brought the seat up and back close to the position I'd used 20 years ago. The next day, I went on a challenging 3+ hour group ride, and I could tell I had better power and less fatigue. I also have considerably more confidence that I'm where I should be, and eliminating the constant second-guessing has been a relief. But what really impressed me is how he transformed my wife's riding experience. Over the years I've tried to get her set up properly, but even after trying three different stems and a couple of bikes, she never looked quite right and wasn't as comfortable or confident as she should be. By the end of her bike fit, she looked like a completely different rider -- relaxed, balanced -- and a quick test ride had her reporting how much easier it was to corner and how much better she felt. That took a different stem, a new saddle, some insoles, and moving her cleats and fore-aft saddle position, but so worth it.
