My dogs don't have dinner and breakfast tomorrow thanks to the two Caucasian ladies (one with red hair and one with orange hair) who decided to close the store at 5:50PM when it was supposed to be 6PM. I arrived at the parking lot at 5:50PM and noticed all the lights were closed already. I approached the door to double check the times and Confirmed it's at 6PM. I pull the door and it's locked, I see the girls trying to hide behind the register. I head over to my car pretty annoyed and noticed another customer comes around 5:54PM. He was not too happy either. The girls left unlocked the door and left laughing together. Such unprofessional behaviour! It sucks that this store is great but hires people like this. read more

I have been a customer of my local Bosley's on Victoria Drive, Vancouver, for over three decades. However, their standard of service has fallen dramatically over the past few years. Case in point, they now demand telephone numbers from customers during the check-out process even though the purchases are not part a reward program. Such a practice is scammy as the telephone numbers plus associated data can be sold by Bosley's resulting in unwanted spam and potentially serious security breaches for the unwitting customer. Today, an Asian female with spectacles at the check-out (the same employee with bad behaviour problems that others have complained about in other reviews) become very rude when I politely declined to provide my telephone number and asked her to please refrain from asking again. She shouted back that she would indeed ask again and if I didn't want to be asked then I shouldn't return to the store! I am happy to take my business elsewhere but regret that a once reputable business not only engages in a dubious practices but also tolerates unacceptable behaviour from staff. A detailed honest and open answer from the Bosley's (Owner) rather than their standard FOAD response would be appreciated. read more

I come here quite regularly to buy canned food my cat Bruce gets a bit of daily for a treat. I often buy several different cans and take my time looking and talking to the resident furball. The space is always clean which is something I notice right away. The staff are also so friendly! I work in management of customer service/experience and I notice how people interact with customers; I can't help it. These guys know their regulars and in my case always make a connection with me- for example commenting on my tattoos or recently one of the staff asked me about my car. Its these little personal connections with every interaction that are the life blood to any community store. I'm not sure if it's company wide training or if this location just service right, but I hope they keep doing it. read more

Solid 3.5 stars for Fraserview, no where else to get pet toys and supplies. Hidden in a plaza, corner spot. Cat stuff on the left, dogs naturally on the right. Friendly service, didn't have the cat toys with the bouncy string, just a fixed plastic one. My sister's tabi Oliver would tear this apart in a day or two haha. Wouldn't say their cat toys selection is as good as other stores. Girl here pretty friendly, as one should be if working with animals, right? But for the locals around here, it sure is good. I stopped in here today as a nearest suggested petstore to the vet we goto (went today for a kitty bladder infection). I love this store today. (First visit) And let me tell you why... Having kitty with a urination problem means needing to clean up afterwards (and that's no fun). When I arrived the single store employee asked if there was anything I was looking for - why yes! From there I asked about cat window perches, to which I was pointed to the two they have in stock (and quite inexpensive!). I spent too much time pouring over the cat toys, selected a few (we have two cats) and easily checked out, being on my merry way. read more

I like this location because it is close to my house. The staff are super friendly and always give my dog treats. They have a fairly good selection of treats but sometimes don't restock once sold out. Prices are reasonable. I like their frequent shopper plan for bags of food. I'm almost on my way to getting a free bag. read more

You can judge the reputation of the store on how they handle the small grievances. I picked up the usual can of $pecialty Dog food for my dog who has allergies. When I got home and opened it I realized something was wrong because it didn't look the same. I looked at the can again and realized I had actually picked up cat food! They had mistakenly stocked it in the dog food section. Back to the store and I examined that dog food shelf and sure enough, it was all cat food. Their mistake. I asked for a replacement or a refund, and she refused to budge because it was open! I don't know if the older Asian couple still run the place, because they were always nice, but this was a young thang who single-handedly lost them a customer over a few bucks. This was a year or so ago, so maybe things have improved *shrug* I certainly will not be going back to *any* Bosley's. My favourite store used to be Tisol, but then I noticed lots of changes which were making it look like a Bosley's store. When I commented to the staff they said they were bought out by the same company that owns Bosley's. Monopoly, much?? I moaned about it and said that the reason I shop at Tisol is because it's NOT Bosley's. She looked shocked. She should not have been. Now Tisol Is not at all the absolutely stellar store it used to be and their amazing staff is long gone. read more

Sorry :( I used to go to Bosley's in New West all the time and loved it. Since moving I've started with this one, and am unimpressed. I had to leave without my dogs food the other day because a woman had a puppy on a long lead and was unable/unwilling to control it. The puppy was repeatedly approaching and swiping at other dogs who began growling and snapping at it. One couple stayed but took their dog out (a couple) and I had to leave. I'm not willing to risk a dog fight because of a bad owner. The cashier did not take action. He directed the puppy away from the other dog at one point, but did not speak to the woman about controlling her animal, keeping it on a shorter lead, keeping it away from other animals when it was causing a disturbance, etc, etc, I asked to woman twice to keep her animal under control and suggested shortening the lead and some other things. The woman didnt, telling me 'this is what my trainer said was the right length'. Sadly, I won't be visiting this store again. If a staff member is unwilling to keep the animals safe and address shoppers who are causing a problem it is not safe for my dog to be there. We'll go elsewhere. read more

I've been shopping here for years for my two dogs who are 11 years old now. There's a good selection of treats and toys and food. The prices are also very reasonable. However sometimes when there are the very young sales attendants working I never get a chance to even look at things for 2 minutes without being asked if I need help. I appreciate the initial greeting but within my 8 minute trip inside I was asked 5 times if I needed help. 4 times by the same person. It's quite slow in the store which I like. And they might just be really bored but it's very overbearing having to justify browsing. Thank you for the help staff but please give your customers some space if they don't need your help. read more

I have a ferret and he only eats one specific food brand: 8 in 1 ultra ferret diet. I used to be able to get it at Pet Co but when I went back to get it, they no longer carry it! I tried a couple other brands of food and he went 3 days without eating anything! In a panic I called 4 different pet stores, none of them carried it. Finally I called this store and they had 2 bags left! I left and got there 10 minutes before they closed. They had already grabbed the food for me and put both bags at the register so I didn't have to try and find it once I got there. The associate also gave me a couple ideas on what else he might eat if this were to happen again and when I left she told me to call back and let her know if he would eat it. If not, I could bring the food back for a refund. He ended up eating the food! What a brat he is, only eating one specific food but I am happy to know this place sells it and the associates are so nice and caring! The prices are also super affordable. I was shocked the big bags were only $15! I will be back for sure!! read more

Been coming to this Bosley's for over 10 years. The owners who are an older Asian couple are always very friendly and full of smiles which makes me want to support them more. In recent years, they appear to have hired more staff who seem to service the customers well. Appreciate having this convenient location as they have a wide selection of treats and carry Acana. read more

I've been here off and on when I had a rabbit, a degus and my then dog Freedom (yes it was a Zoo at my house). I buy my dog food from here. Prices for Orijen dog food are a couple dollars more than Tisol. The people who work there are always nice and asks if I have any questions or assistance in carrying the 13kg bag of dry dog food into my car (though I politely decline) They are very knowledgeable and gives you space as I don't like the feeling of being monitored. Occasionally they have given me dog treats for free to bring home. If it was between Tisol (only the one on Main Street) and Bosley's I would say that for all the times I have visited both of these stores, I definitely feel more welcome at Bosley's. read more
