We stopped here on the way through town. There is very limited eating places to choose from in this area. After we were seated here the waiter came by and very flustered told us to give him a few mins. They weren't very obviously busy, so that puzzled us. The menu isn't very extensive and the food is very expensive. Salad bar is a joke...a few pieces of lettuce and multiple salad dressings. We finally decided to order 2 appetizers...wings and nachos. After we ordered the waiter never came over to check on us or even look us in the eye. After sitting for 45 mins we finally got up and left. Ridiculous to wait that long and not even receive our overpriced crap appetizers or attention from the waiter. Don't waste your time here. read more

What the heck happened to the food? I have eaten there many times and the food was almost always good. I rarely had anything served that I did not like. I worked out of state for several months fall 2018 and had not been back to the resort until Aug 2019. The food was mostly inedible. Sweet potato fries were some kind of reconstituted stuff stamped out of a machine. Fried catfish was hard to chew. Server recommended grilled zucchini. 4 thin strips of zucchini a serving? Really? But not her fault. Servers were good as they have always been. Kitchen and management are at fault. The prices are inflated and the dishes are definitely NOT worth the prices. Do they make good burgers and sandwiches??? Don't know, but don't want to find out either. This place needs someone to save it. Bring back a good menu with prices that reflect the quality of the food. Sadly, it could remain this way indefinitely and stay open. Lack of choices in the area makes that an unfortunate possibility. read more

Unfortunately, from the previous reviews I read, you cannot please everyone. This was our, (hubby, son, daughterinlaw, and 3 grandkids) first visit here. We live in Lufkin, Tx where there is not much to do as far as water parks. We all had a great time! Extremely clean, awesome staff, true there wasn't that many different things to do but it was fun! Yes there was a little grass in 2 spots growing in the water but it didn't bother us! Hill was a little steep for hubby and I to climb but we did it quite a few times! I would do it again! Loved the rapids in the lazy river! Price was more comparable for you get than BSR Cable Park! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PARK!!! This is absolutely the most unprofessionally run business. My family and I have attempted to go this park twice . We drive from north Fort Worth only to get to the gate and be told they decided to close. There was nothing on their website or even the automated message!! When we got to the gate, a girl told us because there was a possibility of rain they decided to close. When we tried to call to speak to someone . A manager named Robert hung up on my husband twice. I am so disappointed. Whoever owns this business should read the reviews and seriously think about how poorly their company is being run . I will not ever attempt to attend this park again and I will make sure everyone I know does not go to this horrible place !!! read more

You want to talk about disappointment... Bosque county water park is a joke. Very very upset. The air up water obstacles are not here, there's 3 slides that not everyone can ride which I understand on the height. And a lazy river that is barely a foot deep and my butt drags the whole way down. This is not worth 24.99 for an adult and 19.99 for a child over 2. $48 for me and my step daughter for this? You can have just as fun at the lake and be able to eat your own food. I don't recommend this place to anyone. And then to top that the manager offered us a full refund and then took it back 10 minutes later!! Share away friends! read more

This place is the most inconsistent restaurant I have ever seen. We live nearby and have eaten here many times (mostly because we have limited choices). These guys seem to have spent an enormous amount of money and effort to build a really nice facility Here's my rundown: They have a nice bar and pretty decent liquor selection. The wine choices are few and not very good (I'm not sure that the demand is there, however). The servers are typically pretty good but there is a lot of turnover and the training must happen on the job. The kitchen seems to be really unorganized. Food often takes much too long to get out and often arrives partially cold (like the burger good but fries had been sitting, etc). The salad bar is pretty good, especially the soups. Kale and sausage is wonderful Steaks and prime rib (special) are very good Fried shrimp are great Chicken fried steak has been great at times and over-battered and poorly cooked at others Burgers are usually pretty good. They can't seem to get the french fries right One last thing - it drives me crazy that they change their hours constantly. I respect the fat that they can't just stay open and lose money but maybe they could make their changes less often read more

Yes, i can also say Bosque Resort is inconsistant. When they have a good manager it really seems to do well. But for some reason they do not stay. I stopped by there Friday night for a To-Go order, and that was fine. Went there Saturday night and ordered the fried shrimp, which i have ordered there before. To my disappontment the shrimp were bad. The waitress was very accomodating. I would have expected for either a manager or chef to come out to discuss as a courtesy, but no one did, read more

We just had our sons wedding catered by Bosque Resort. We can't say enough how impressed we were with the level of service & quality of food that was served to our 50 guests in our home. From the spinach dip, to the fruit & cheese platter to the lamb chops & hand cut filets....our guests Raved!!!! The Chef prepared the steaks to order & we were helped by 2 lovely young ladies who have previously waited on us at the restaurant..& they couldn't have been more professional & sweet. No one Ever! had an empty glass! They were on it!!! Thank you, Thank You! Bosque Resort!! We will be back...again & again!!! read more

Absolutely awful. The guy that owns this just throws stuff together so he can start collecting money and then goes back to "improve" things he owns. He also owns BSR Cable Park in Waco. The "lazy river" has weeds growing in it and the liner is held by rocks. Crappy beer selection with only one bar tender, over priced beers and food. The pool floats are numbered and you're expected to bring that tube back. For Christ sake just issue one and leave it alone. Even hurricane harbor just lets you grab and go and this place expects you to leave your license with them where they just throw it in they're pockets. No organization. Huge muddy mess. There are grass burrs in the grass for you to step in as my husband gathered at least 5 while walking down to the bar. Murky water... doesn't seem sanitary. When you buy to get in (completely over priced for what you get) they won't allow you to walk out to your car and come back in to eat like other places will such as six flags, zoos and hurricane harbor. Take your kids somewhere else and invest in other places for a better experience because this man is a crook. read more

I am appalled at this place. My husband and I were staying at a different resort for our anniversary, but wanted to try this place's water park out. The next day, the day we had bought our tickets for, it was raining, and we had to get back to Dallas. The weekend had been awful at the other place, and so when I tried to call and get my money back, the office for this place was not open on the weekends, and all of the calls were directed at the restaurant. That was really fishy. Today I called back to speak with someone at the office telling them what happened, and they said that they do not issue refunds, and that the water park was open, even though it was raining and thundering that morning. We had not shown up to this place at all or even used them. I am sorry, but that is incredibly poor business, and for them to pull a stunt like this is incredibly unprofessional. This is not how you run a business. I will be filing with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Friendly waitresses and bartender. The chicken fried steak was huge and really good. My companion had a shrimp dish that was excellent. Also tried the spaghetti and grilled chicken salad on another visit and both were good. The live music is a plus and the blues band was awesome. read more

We have been coming to Bosque for a few years now and sadly it has steadily gone down hill. Food used to be wonderful with great staff- now you can't get a chicken fried steak decent. Last trip was for the polar express, which was booked but that was okay. Had an employee there eating with her children though- which she let run around EVERYWHERE. People were trying to sit at the bar but couldnt because he was literally laying across three chairs. read more

We drove 20 minutes just to try Bosque Resort. First we ordered a drink. My husband and I ordered Shiner, waitress asked "16 or 20 ounce?" We told her 20 and to my surprise our Shiner came out warm, and served in margarita glasses, that are certainly not 20 ounces. My pasta meal was really good, except the menu said it came with one trip to the salad bar, and the waitress told me it did not. So, no salad for me. My grandmother enjoyed her chopped beef meal, except the blood on the plate surrounding a piece of beef cooked "medium" was a bit unappetizing. My husband ordered the shrimp dinner. Waitress asked "half or whole order?" He said "half", assuming his plate would come out with hush puppies or something. It was literally a plate with 5 shrimp on a stick and that alone was $15.95. I wondered why the waitress didn't mention that it didn't come with sides, but then again, it should not be called a "dinner" on the menu if it does not come with sides. He certainly was not full on 5 shrimp. It was a bit of an odd experience. Definitely overpriced and waitress seemed pretty inexperienced, which is fine, but they need to change their pricing to reflect the actual service/experience. read more

Really enjoyed our first visit to the bosque resort. We stayed at there hotel/lodge. Nice little place, not to fancy, but was overall really nice, cold ass ac, nice beds, full size fridge and small kitchen. We reserved the apartment suite. Worth it to us. Went to the water park they have also. Really cool place to check out. If you stay in a room 50% off gate price. Not a whole lot to do there, but nice lazy/Rapids river. Long ride down there the woods. Nice size beach type swim area. Nice relaxing place for sure. Nice folks to us all the way around. Ate at the bosque restaurant and really enjoyed our visit, food and staff were really nice. My sweet tea glass was never empty. Was 5 of us and not one of us had a bad meal. Anything from the chicken Alfredo pasta, chicken fried chicken I recommend, big ass hamburger and onion rings, and kiddos cheese pizza. Side dishes were really good, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, what we ordered. All meals were really tasty. I know they might have off days or nights, but our experience was really good and would be glad to do another weekend again. It was something different for us. It's not a Hawaiian falls or Schlitterbahn Waterpark by no means. Some people had traveled from Dallas expecting a huge waterpark, this is not this type of place. Review is for the water park area. We visited on Saturday, July 23rd and had a great time. $20 per person was a little high I thought for amount of attractions they offer but I all and all fair I guess. The lazy river/rapid river reminded me a lot of Schlitterbaughn. It was long and had areas of swift water which was a lot of fun. My teenage son and his friend had a great time on the climbing attractions in the man made lake and the tubes they have are excellent. I will say after about 2 hours you've done all there is to do and so I can't imagine going and spending all day. But with it being so close to Waco it's a perfect afternoon getaway. read more

Menu shows some promise but avoid the chicken-fried steak, it's devoid of steak, almost totally breading. The accompanying baked potato was fine but the salad was bland iceberg lettuce, a small tomato and that's it. Excellent facilty, bar and patio are great. read more
