This oriental fast food place was great. There were four of us and we made a same day reservation on - line. Not that I have any idea how to do it.
So our table was waiting at 6:30pm and it was quite busy. Beer, wine and sparkling water for us but no Guinness sold here. I got Asahi beer but had to ask for a glass.
We began with a range of starters - we had their crackers which were exquisite and I've never had crackers before with seaweed on one side. Really salty and moreish.
Then filled wantons that seemed to come out of a furnace they were so hot. We had prawn, short rib beef and chicken dumplings with dips and followed by mains.
I had a sweet and sour king prawn which was real spicy and I found it neither sweet nor sour but it was perfect spice heat for me especially from the sliced fresh red chilli. I asked for boiled rice but the boiled rice still had its bran husk on it. This made it more a sticky rice with good texture.
There was another sweet and sour king prawn, a chicken and cashew nut main and a char sui pork. The other three had fried rice.
We didn't have room for desserts but I noted with disapproval that they didn't have toffee apples. I might visit again but the prices are top end and right at the limit for what is essentially cheap cuts of meat/warm water prawn (ok texture but little flavour) based fast food.
The staff were great and the atmosphere was buzzing. read more
