Had a haircut emergency today. My son got his picture day schedule all wrong and that meant me having not find a barber in literally less than 3 hours!! I literally called 15-20 places and no one was even picking up their phones. I was scrambling trying to find a last minute barber which is so hard to do but luckily Matt picked up! He was literally the only one in HAYWARD that picked up!! Had an availability and we are so thankful he accommodated my son hours before picture day! Matt was very detailed, very professional, and easy to talk to. His shop is very clean and even has a nice sofa to lounge and a 72" inch tv. Matt not just cuts hair you can tell it's an art with what he delivers. We honestly were beyond happy leaving and now even have a repeat customer or two!! So many good things about this place!! 1. Really? Uh, YEAH! As another poster said, appointments are recommended, but since I didn't know anyone at the shop I decided to stop in. On a Saturday. One guy, Robbie, was the only one who had any free time in the afternoon, so I came back before the designated time and was seated after his customer was finishing up. I told Robbie what I was used to in the way of haircuts, he made suggestions, and went to work. He took care in producing a very nice coif and even did some extra for free (which I gave him as a tip). Got home and my wife really liked the haircut! And, days later it still looks good! Been getting cut by Schys since 2014 but I know all of the barbers in there are kept in high regard. Undercuts, parts, fades, combovers- he can pretty much do it all. Great people. Laughs a plenty. I needed a beard trim before a very busy, important weekend but, as I usually do, I waited until Friday morning to try to figure it all out. It's so hard to find a good beard trim around here but I found Boston Barber on here and figured I'd give it a shot. I called and talked to Matt and asked if he could squeeze me in last minute, he said he could. Let me tell you: Matt is hella cool and he's great at what he does. He's a nice guy, very friendly, great conversation and he made me feel welcome. We talked like we've known each other for a long time. He treated my beard with respect and great attention too. He did exactly what I asked him for and had me looking just right for my daughter's baptism. This is a little spot but it's got a big heart and soul. I've been shaving my head for almost 20 years now I've not been able to enjoy a proper barber shop experience. However, over the last few months, I started growing out my beard and found a reason to find a barber shop and so here I am. I stumbled upon the guys at the Boston Barber Co and was able to schedule a couple of beard trims. Matt is the owner - cool cat, down to earth, keep the jams playing - or some cool cooking shows on YouTube. There's another barber there too that's chill. And then there's my guy, Schys! He's cool as hell, good conversation, and is a real pro who takes pride in his craft and attention to detail. The shop has as great vibe and there's some good banter and a little trash talk between the barbers. It almost makes me want to go in on a day I don't even have a trim scheduled - LOL!
