I attended opening day (3/13/2019) and saw all displays leisurely in about 10 minutes (so small I couldn't believe it). Many flowers were wilted and dead. Nothing was exquisite. I saw all displays in 10 minutes and asked for a refund. I was told no and referred to an event supervisor who confirmed a that no refunds are possible. $20 for 10 minutes. The few displays that were there, were not even special. In NO way does the Boston Flower Show resemble the special event it used to be years ago. The Flower Show photos posted on Yelp are from several years ago and do not represent the 2019 sham of a show. A trip to Mahoney's Rocky Ledge Nursery in Winchester is so much nicer, larger, more flowers, more greenery, and it is open 7 days a week, year round for free. read more

This was extremely disappointing this year. This was probably 75% vendors and 75% of those just had crap that has nothing to do with flowers. Took a put two hours to find parking and we showed up at 11 so it wasn't even that late. I only took about 24-30 pictures as compared to 80 last year for the simple fact that there was nothing to take pictures of. read more

This was the first time attending the Boston Flower and Garden Show and frankly I was a bit disappointed. I really enjoy gardening and was under the impression that this event would showcase amazing flower/plants. Sadly, that was not the case at all. We wondered around for a good half hour very confused about the vendors that were there. We came across booths that sold scarfs, honey or honey products, jewelry, olive oil, pet supplies, shoes and even H&R block. There were actually not that many vendors that sold actual flowers--I think we only found three that did. The rest were something resembling a craft fair. The center of the space was where the garden displays were set up and a few were quite beautiful. There were also a couple of rows showcasing plats that had won various awards. I wish they had more of that and less scarf and soap vendors. I am not sure if I would go again next year. I did get really good deals on a beautiful orchid and a few plants--the vendors dropped their prices significantly during the end of the last day of the show. I just wish the even was more about gardening, and had fewer of those random vendors. read more

The Massachusetts Horticultural Society's displays are truly wonderful, and their staff and volunteers are so helpful. Also, make sure you see the Ikebana displays. Both exhibitors are at the back of the hall so unless you purposely seek them out when you first enter you could easily get caught up with all the vendors along the way. Am on my way home by bus to N.H. 2019. After anticipation and much planning to visit flower show, we must have taken a wrong turn, as we ended up at a craft show with lots of jewelry and stuff with few flowers here and there. BTW, there was no signage at south station, nor the silver line to tell us how to get there. Never again. I would have given 0 stars except for the Japanese section. read more

Every bad review here is completely accurate. There were maybe 5 garden displays that were so boring an uninspired I could drive around my neighborhood and see better landscape ideas! If you want to pay $20 to shop for some crappy overpriced junk this is the place. I am furious I drove an hour into the city and Paid $40 for admissions and $30 to park the car. NEVER AGAIN. With all due respect to the flower arrangements in the back, and the garden displays in the middle, which are all excellent and picture worthy; 90% of the space at the shop is for vendors. I wish the show would focus on the creative displays and be more selective on vendors. read more

Underwhelming show. More vendors (approx 80 %) than displays (Approx. 20%) . Some booths had nothing to do with flowers. Large magnet attractions in the past such as Mahoney's were notably missing. Since Mass Horticultural has dropped the concession the heart seems to have fallen out of the event. Despite that their were pockets of passion in the show but it was not the price of admission. read more

The trek from northern Vermont to see what i imagined was one of the iconic flower and garden shows was definitely not worth the time, effort, and money. Emerging from a two foot snowstorm the previous day i was grateful to see even a bit of green and flowers. However, that was in fact, what there was. The downside: very few, and rather lackluster, garden displays, not enough seating in the cafe areas, little signage to direct visitors walking from South Station; and many vendors that felt more carny than craft, more garish than garden. Hi. First off, I run Cliviausa.com, And went to the Boston flower show with the thought of getting space next year to sell my plants. I only mention this so folks reading this will understand that I have been to a few of these. Well. I would have been maybe the 5th person actually selling plants in the entire show. Maybe 4th. I guess if I wanted to buy a Subaru or go to a middling craft show, it would have been ok. A couple of the exhibits were nice. But there were not very many of them. There was also a lack of educational material. The best way to get people interested in gardening or growing any form of living thing is to educate in my opinion. I have a personal interest in Carnivorous plants, so I went to that exhibit. It did have examples from each of the different species but there wasnt much information nor were there many exhibitors to talk to. Ah well. Avoid this unless your looking for a place to stroll with a date and buy a trinket. read more

The Boston Flower used to be a wonderful social event - even elegant. The 2018 venue was 1/3 of lackluster flower displays and 2/3 of vendors -many of which did not even connect to gardening. Won't go back. read more

$20 entry fee + $22 parking = $44 to SHOP. Beyond disappointed. This "show" was 80% vendors, with 6+ selling olive oil alone. Next year, I'll travel to Philadelphia where their flower show actually has lots and lots of creative displays of FLOWERS. This should be renamed the Boston Flower-less Show! The one positive is that the vendors were all pleasant and their wares reasonably priced - until you add the $44 for entry and parking, that is. Not even one star! Terrible..like the other reviews that gave one star, I agree with them. Got there at 11 and all the lots were all full, even the hotel. Went in and there were just 4, I think, garden displays. That was it! It was all vendors, not even selling garden items. All junk, like the other review said. Jewelry, come on...at a flower show! Use to go to the bayside expo., when they had it there and it was much bigger and had more displays and sold more garden, flower items. Use to buy my cactiis there every year. Walked through and was done in an hour...could have taken 1/2 if I didn't walk around just to make it worth my money...but I wasted $20 and with parking, gas! I attended one of these shows years ago. It was beautiful and had many exhibits to see and be amazed. I was hoping to be amazed again. However, this year was very underwhelming. 1/3 was the flower show and 2/3 of it was vendors selling their goods. I thought I was coming for a show but it was mainly for buying things. If I had known it was more vendors and less flower show, I would have kept my money and wait for spring. read more

My friends and I always look forward to "Welcoming Spring" by attending the Boston Flower Show at the World Trade Center. We have been going for years, and always eagerly anticipate the "WOW" factor in Landscape and Flower/ Garden design. We were greatly disapppointed this Year!!!I Very lack luster show! We have noticed that every year there seems to be fewer exhibits and more vendors. This year was a very expensive admission to a "Fea Market" with admission at $20.00! Many of the vendors are selling things that are not at all plant/garden related..quilts, place mats, towels, jewelry. I do not attend the Flower Show to go to a typical shopping Mall! I went with my two kids and after 10 minutes of walking I realized I had just paid $40 dollars to shop ($20 adults $10 for kids) . If that was what I wanted I could have gone to the mall for free. There were scarf, soap, dip vendors. I am not sure what that has to do with flowers. I was hoping to learn more about plants and actual planting tips but I did not get any of that. I did end up buying air plants and glass terrarium and paid $52 dollars for three sets. When I got home and check on amazon.com I realized I could have gotten triple the plants and terrariums for that much money : ( Perhaps due to the building I could not access the internet while I was inside the building so I couldn't check online prices while I was there. I would never go back nor recommend this show to any one. read more

We were really looking forward to a " end of winter" experience. It was not to be.We have been coming her for a number of years and have always looked forward too the blast of mulch and flowers that hits you as you enter. It was not to be. Very weak, barely impressive main displays, and many venders and food venders. I don't think we'll be back. Although it's a haul, I think we're back to the Philly gig. We were very disappointed with 90% of what was being offered. We attended 2 years ago and was still a great time. This year Horticultural and Agriculture displays and vendors were almost non existent; it was very disappointing to the point it felt like an overpriced Church Craft Fair or Flea Market at best. The selection of vendors that were there had almost nothing to do with the theme of "Boston Flower & Garden Show 2016". We saw anywhere from jewelry booths, H&R Block booth, many "trinket type" booths, doggie clothing and several others that had nothing to do with the theme of the show. It just seemed that the company didn't care what type of vendors they could get there as long as they could pay the booth fee; it just boils down to money. My daughter attends Norfolk Aggie and loves plant sciences; and she looked forward to attending the Boston Flower & Garden Show 2016 and was so disappointed that I don't think she'll attend again next year. Also, when talking to some other people attending the show they had expressed the same thing about lack of displays and appropriate vendors that they said it "was a waste of time and money". read more

My husband and I attended the show on Saturday, 3/16/2019, and thought it was very disappointing!! In fact, we will not be back next year and plan to advise others to stay away. We thought this was supposed to be a Flower and Garden Show with interesting and inspiring exhibits and displays!! Absolute waste of money and time. Payed $30 to park and $20 per person for entrance to basically shop at a glorified farmers market. Booths of premium priced trinkets, and very little flowers/plants. The plants they did have were nothing special, I could find the same type of plants at home Depot/lowes... They should rename this show. It has very little to do with gardening or flowers. I wish I had read the reviews before taking the bus down from NH and spending $20 on admission. I do feel ripped off indeed. This year I committed to sharing my previous (28 years ago) experiences of attending the Boston Flower & Garden Show with my 24 year old daughter who's a floral enthusiast. I was embarrassed to say the least. What happened? It was overrun by vendors selling junk that had nothing to do with flowers or gardens or anything floral. The flower and garden portion were slim, and so so disappointing. Next year we'll go to our local florist and spend the time looking at thriving plants and flowers and save ourselves the $40 on tickets and the $43 on Uber's. read more

The last time I was at the Boston Flower Show was at least 15 years ago and I had recollections of some stunning garden displays along with gardening-related vendors. The show has deteriorated into a tawdry and confusing version of what it used to be. The vendor section is more like a flea market, with sellers hawking everything from telecom services to used clothing. The garden displays were mediocre, with only a couple that actually looked like the designer cared what they were presenting. Expanses of bark mulch sparsely populated by hostas, for example: after all the set up they did, how much more effort would it have cost them to add a few dozen more plants to fill up the empty spaces? We had been given free tickets and drove down from NH for this event. There were a few garden exhibits and we bought some interesting seeds but the overall show was dreadful. Much of the "show" had nothing to do with gardens and was just an odd mix of shopping opportunities. Please rethink this event for next year or stop calling it a garden show. The 2015 Flower Show was disappointing at best. I went during the afternoon of the first day and was struck by how few people were in attendance through to 6 pm. I usually take many photos but this year there was very little of interest to shoot. And many of the flowers did not seem to be holding up very well even though the show had just opened. A surprising percentage of the vendors had little or nothing to do with gardening. I agree with a previous writer. This year's show was a huge disappointment - nothng innovative and too many non-gardening vendors. The seminars offered were boring and if I wanted to see jewelry/scarves and items like that, I'd go to a local craft show. We are from CT and went to the Harford Flower Show a few weeks ago and I have to say it was far better than the Boston Show. We won't be making the 2 1/2 hour drive up to the Boston show any more. I was excited, brought my camera..What a waste of gas,time and energy! If I wanted to go to a flea market I could have driven 10 min away and paid .50 to get in. We walked around looking for the flower show was and realized it was the few piddly displays by the entrance of the flea market that were filled with mostly dafodills and tulips. My yard looks better than their displays!!! I could have seen healthier looking ones at the grocery store! I took 6 photos, mostly of the sand sculpture. It was an embarrassment to say this was a flower show. Most of the vendors had nothing to do with gardening, flowers, yard, outdoors... I do not want to buy shoes, clothing, jewelry,wine glasses,or a subscription to the newspaper. The free wine samples were not enough to make us forget that we were suppose to be there to see a flower show. Between parking, gas and my husband's ticket it was one very expensive learning experience that this was a complete waste of time and that we were scammed!!! I am actually angry that they get away with doing this. I know a lot of shows have started doing this, they think people will continue to attend and pay more and more for less and less but people will eventually get fed up and stop attending. read more

There was more people selling their wares than there was people with ideas for your garden. Jewelry and clothes? Really that is not what we want to see. I got no ideas for my garden at home. I just returned from the Flower Show and was greatly disappointed. I had not been in many years and I should have read the reviews from last year; the same is true again. There are mostly vendors, some aggressively pushing their wares, and many fewer true exhibitors than in the past. The only highlight was the area where the flower arrangements were shown. It was interesting to see how individuals interpreted the themes and how they were judged. This, however, is not worth the $20 admission and parking and gas. read more

I absolutely agree with other 2015 show reviewers. I was SO disappointed this year - in a year we really needed a breath of spring. I usually take several pictures - this year only 2. Felt the show layout was extremely confusing; hardly any garden displays among garden marketplace vendors. Always love the garden marketplace, but agree with other reviewers too much "non-garden" related vendors. Was also extremely disappointed with coat check. Apparently the company (??) handling this was either overwhelmed or unprepared. Upon arrival on a very rainy Saturday afternoon where coat check would have been appreciated , they were was not able to accept any coats despite there being a stack of hangars available. They claimed they had an issue with the hangar numbers. My personal opinion - the staff had no clue as to what they were doing. I hope the show planners read through these reviews and take the necessary correction steps to return this show to how it used to be. read more
