It is incredibly frustrating to have a website that says the Chestnut Hill shop is open Sundays and have the phone answer and say hold for a representative only to be left on hold for 12 minutes! Don't waste your time. Very disappointed in a recent bouquet I ordered online through Winston Flowers to be delivered for my elderly mother's birthday. It cost us several hundred dollars (so we expected something spectacular) and arrived with already wilted/browned roses. We've been customers of Winston Flowers for decades, in past had appreciated the reliably high quality, but not any longer. At this point I will never order from Winton Flowers again. So disappointed. I also wrote to Winston Flowers about this and never heard back from them, so I consider this extremely poor customer service. read more

I was shopping for a Birthday bouquet on Newbury and stopped in to see what was available. The associates were very helpful and I ended up buying a few styles to make a nice arrangement. The flowers unfortunately only lasted 3 days, BUT we called and an associate took great care of us. We sent them photos of the arrangement, to which they offered to replace the flowers (they absolutely upgraded the order!) and even deliver the new arrangement the same week. Update: Winston flowers went above and beyond to address the issue and I was very happy with the outcome. I got my wedding flowers through Winston last October and they did a great job. But I just ordered a $255 arrangement from them. It should have been much bigger if it were as advertised. However, what I received was much closer to the medium size rather than the large. The arrangement is still beautiful which is why I am still giving them 3 stars. I am really just disappointed that they seemed to skimping which is really sad because I got this arrangement for a special occasion which is just that much less bright and joyful now. read more

My original bouquet was bad but when We connect with the business they sent a replacement 48 hours later and it's beautiful. I also had a message from the manager. They def care- and I appreciate that. Previous: This is the second time a bouquet of flowers have been ordered and the flowers arrive old. This is not what you would expect when you spend $100+ for a flower arrangement. These flowers were delivered on Saturday at 2pm. Now, Monday morning here's what they look like. I'm disappointed but not surprised to see all the recent one star reviews. Winston outsources their deliveries to local partners with questionable ethics. When I shared my concern the customer service rep lacked empathy and also noted that next time I could order earlier if I wanted Winston to be the vendor to deliver vs their vendor as a courtesy. We never felt rushed (and we were there for probably 30 minutes perusing all the beautiful items in the shop) and Juliana was so lovely and helpful. In all of our years, we have never ever said anything other than "My God they've hit it out of the park again" - however this day - they sent an arrangement for Valentine's Day and oddly enough - the flowers and the arrangement seemed as though it had freezer burn -- the beautiful tea roses had burn marks and they were wilted - so not in keeping with Winston's. Everyone knows that Winstons is the go to flower shop and nursery, but I was left breathless a few days ago. I was looking for a bouquet. They started at $125 and went up to $250 for 'nice' but not exceptional. When I expressed sticker shock, the assistant was unapologetic and went off into her sales pitch....come on, every florist gets their supply from the local flower marjet, so save me the BS. I've received several arrangements from Winston Flowers from my husband who claims, it's worth the extra $30-$40 for a different, modern, gorgeous arrangement that will last for a long time. Most of their arrangements are low and absolutely rich with very good quality flowers, not to mention placed in a vase that's an original Winston design that you can use for several purposes after the flowers are gone. So the vase itself is worth plenty, rather than the cheap $1 ones that come from other florists. Every time I get a delivery from them my female co-workers go ga-ga. When I bring it home, it's a perfect centerpiece for my dining table. I can't gush enough about how beautiful each arrangement is. Winston Flowers is expensive. For flowers, VERY expensive.. and I've managed to get flowers that would last just as long for cheap at Trader Joe's. However, that requires labor and sometimes I get to file expense reports... The work they do is gorgeous and never looks cheap. You get what you pay for, for sure. And I did have white lilies sent to me from a friend from Winston a few years ago that were so beautiful and lasted so long I took and still have pictures and I still have the vase (with eucalyptus from TJ's in it). read more

On my Springtime visit, there were lilacs and several varieties of rhodies as well as tall stalks of lilies and sky high stems of roses in every color. Formal arrangements made use of lots of natural elements like pared sticks jutting from angular vases, and scrolled,stripped palm leaves wrapped on the inside of glass bowls. I agree with other reviewers that the shop's clerks' skill set as well as botanical knowledge need improvement. When asked for directions to Winston's south Boston design center, we got a scrawled note with about 75% accuracy. I love their flower arrangements and I used to think they have the best quality of roses in winter season. However, I received my Vday roses and they only last for THREE days. What a shame!!! I've received at least 3-4 bouquets from them every year in the past two years and I would recommend to order "seasonal" selections to make sure the quality of flowers are in control.
