One of my favorite farms in the Boston area. I had family in the neighborhood and that's how I discovered this gem that has been my go-to farm for over 8 years. They recently renovated, upgrading the charming farm stand to a full on rustic market. Fresh veggies, coffee station, frozen goods, jams, chocolate goodies and more. I usually come for the little walk around the farm to see what's growing, the u-pick flower garden, to swing on the swing set, and to see if any farm animals are around. There's a parking lot and picnic tables scattered around. Pricing is reasonable, u-pick is about $15, they used to charge by flower stem. They also host events and have activities for kids. Honestly, Weston is more of a suburb so it's a nice surprise for people when I tell them that there is actually more to see than large homes! read more

My family and I stopped here yesterday Mon May 18. We were aware that the farm stand was closed on Mondays however my Son and I decided to take a stroll over to see the animals. When we arrived to see the big rabbit there the girl that was tending to the bunny was rude to us and said to please step away as she was trying to get it to come to the front so she could place his food bowl inside? Then when the rabbit came to the front she tried to grab it but it ran away from her. My 27 year old Autistic son was trying to see it and was not standing too close but she said he needed to step away as she made it like it was his fault that the rabbit ran to the back again. I'm sorry? but that was just rude of her as we just wanted to get a close look at the cute bunny. She made us feel very unwelcome. I then said to my son c'mon let's go and told him we can come back on a Saturday or something when hopefully she isn't there and that other on-lookers will be there too! I said it right in front of her! We just live the next town over but imagine if we drove a long way and wanted to see the animals and check the place out and were told to keep our distance from the bunny? The rabbit looked just fine and probably would have eaten anyway if he/she was hungry. She made it run back by trying to grab it not my son being there just looking at it. I had so much fun picking flowers here! It was only a $15 experience and you got to fill your cup with as many flowers as you could fit. There are definitely lots of bees but in my experience the bees were not bothering me. It was also cool to check out the bunnies and goats while I was here. Overall such a cute spot with easy highway access to downtown boston! read more

Something nice and free to do if you want to take the kids out. We came to visit during their weekend open farmyard. It's not a come and walk around on your own, there is a timed schedule and a lead who will bring you around and educate you on the animals and fun facts about the farm. They are very informative and nice! There is clean bathrooms to wash up and a very nice store and outdoor area you can sit at. Great family friendly area. Went flower picking here with my friend in august! The flowers are very pretty, and the staff is super kind and encourages you to really fill your cup. We went later in the day so some flowers were already picked through. They also have vegetables to pick there! I would recommend wearing closed toe shoes and going before things get picked over! read more

The owner of this charming market, a wonderfully friendly lady, left a lasting impression on us and has us eager to come back in the upcoming spring season. Having previously experienced much colder receptions in a different city, her warm and welcoming demeanor was a delightful surprise. The market itself is delightful, offering a variety of fresh vegetables for purchase, set against lovely and inviting surroundings. On the premises, there are a few animals you can visit, including some friendly sheep from a neighboring farm. We are already looking forward to returning in the spring to take advantage of the pick-your-own flower and vegetable opportunities that will be available. read more

The summer staff is amazing... so polite and helpful. I did not want most of the green tops of scallions so the 'farmer' cut off the tops. When I asked why she was NOT putting them in the 'green only' compost, she said, "I'm taking them home to go with other veggies in my freezer for when I next make stock." How wonderful. read more

The CSA share this year was greatly reduced in bulk. Incredibly small compared to prior years. I was told by a worker there it was due to new management restrictions. I guess I can stop my donations too. We had much larger shares during the height of Covid in 2020. I have a large share and barely had enough veggies for two days for my family. It's not cheap folks. Oh, and the person who was working there told me the produce is NOT even hard harvested on the day you pick up and NEVER is. It comes from a refrigerator on the property where wit has sat in storage. What has happened to Land's Sake? No more CSA for us until it goes back to freshly picked and good portions. read more

In the middle of the poshest of the posh suburbs west of Boston is a wonderful, surprising, not-for-profit farm that's as charming and rustic as anyone could dream. Although fairly minimal in varieties and type of product offered (vs the more restaurant-oriented Verrill Farm), the farmstand sells only what the land is yielding at that moment in time. They don't grow corn, but do buy it from another farm in Concord - and it is wonderful, sweet, and fresh. They sell honey made from hives they keep on the property (you can see the bee boxes from the road) and have a good mix of flowers, greens, herbs, tomatoes, peas, beans, squash, etc depending on the week and the month. And the pick your own is wonderful if you manage to catch it during season. Don't forget to bring lots of cash! Your credit card is no good at the shop, which is just a primitive structure similar to the one Lucy stood at it when dispensing five cent advice, but with a roof. read more

This is my favorite farm I've been coming here for years and I finally became a member this year I love all the wonderful events they have the children's programming and the animals really special events and an overall fun and friendly vibe. Last year they had a spectacular event with tarot reading face painting and a dancer and lovely. Last year I did several workshops including making her own pickles and another night making her own pesto. The pick your own flower garden when it's ready is a really lovely relaxing activity. I love farmers markets but I also love that this is open for more hours than once a week farmers market for the convenience in addition to going to farmers Markets. If the CSA is not for you you can still be a member and also have the opportunity to buy green dollars which supports the farm ahead of the season. And all around wonderful place that I am so happy is close to our home! read more

We went for a bouquet making workshop with Heather and had the best time! The flowers were stunning (and the sunflowers were too). She was very kind & guided us, but also gave us our space. She gave our pup treats and water & was so lovely the entire time. We walked away with a ton of produce and amazing sourdough! (Really good!) love lands sake. What a gem, just discovered this place! They have a wonderful little farmstead with beautifully displayed, super-fresh produce! So good to feed my family fresh vegetables that were locally picked, compared to the stuff in grocery stores that is often shipped across the country. It's also a great place to pick up a little gift/house present. They have a wonderful display of local honey, maple syrup, jams, etc. I just wish I had discovered this place when I had little kids. Looks like they do all sorts of fun education programs and events. Certainly worth a visit! read more

We purchased a Community Supported Agriculture share from this farm for the 2007 season. We've had two pickups so far, and the produce is delicious and of course fresh. I haven't actually been to the farm yet (been letting my boy do the driving to Weston) but I have interacted with the CSA staff by email and such, figuring out what's what. I was concerned about getting our money's worth when I saw that the first share was a little sparse, but at the very beginning of the harvest I suppose that's to be expected. Our veggie take has been increasing over time. Plus, the teeny little strawberries are cute and delicious! My one complaint in doing the farm share has been that things don't always seem super organized. There's a degree of chance in how well any harvest will turn out, and sometimes the farmers have to wing it or reschedule based on nature's whims. I also found the website to be lacking when trying to find the answers to some questions, and in one case the resulting confusion led to us being unexpectedly charged more money for our share than we'd expected. I talked to the staff about this and they explained everything to me, and when I suggested that the confusion could have been avoided by giving all the information initially, they were responsive, not defensive. Way to go, Land's Sake. I look forward to enjoying the farm all year! read more

I grew up coming to Land's Sake for strawberries, worked here for a few weeks while I was in middle school (learning that I really don't want to be a farmer, as much as I love the idea), and am now back as a CSA member. This is my second summer doing the CSA - last summer we had the 1/2 share for two adults and loved it. It was really enough veggies for two adults and introduced us to some new items, plus we had fresh flowers all summer. In addition, many weeks there was a volunteer who would use CSA ingredients to make some great recipes as inspiration, with samples and copies of the recipes available. This year we're returning as full share members (split with my parents). The farm stand has a great selection of in-season produce as well as some nice locally produced products (like bread, hot sauce, and jam). I've found it to be a great place to pick up gifts for people who already have everything - chances are they'll love some fig preserves or maple syrup. The prices generally seem reasonable to me - this isn't industrial agriculture that allows you to get inexpensive and out of season produce at Stop & Shop (though I'll admit that I think the maple syrup here is $$$). Since Land's Sake fulfills my needs, I don't really visit many other farm stands (plus, there really aren't that many convenient ones) - therefore, I can't provide a cost comparison to anyone providing as high a quality product . read more

I went back mid-August to give pick-your-own flowers another try, and found a very different situation! Fields were abundant with flowers and open to the public. A great selection of flowers, including zinnia, queen anne's lace, snapdragons, sunflowers, marigolds, bachelor buttons, lavender, and much more (see my photo of the bouquet I created). I was really impressed, all they need is to grow roses and lilies on-site and some brides could really DIY their wedding flowers here! The major issue is pricing. They charge .50/bloom, $1.00/large blooms, $1.50/sunflower. This means, a little sprig of lavender will cost you .50 as will a single, tiny bachelor button. Large blooms include zinnias/dahlias, so anything that'll really add volume to your bouquet will cost you a dollar apiece. So my bouquet was almost $20 ($19.13 with tax). While my bouquet was lovely, a supermarket bouquet will cost you about the same, be beautiful, and there won't be any labor involved. I enjoy the picking process so am still up for pick-your-own, but it's certainly not a lower-cost option at Land's Sake. read more

This is a fantastic place. I was in the middle of making eggplant Parmesan and I was short a few eggplants. I ran to brothers market in town. The eggplant was freezing cold, bruised, and old. I drove over to land's sake at about 9 AM. The manager, Eric, was working in the field. They don't open until 11 AM but I told him about my eggplant emergency. Even though they were technically closed he walked me over to where they were picking vegetables and got me the freshest best looking eggplants you've ever seen. You wouldn't get that kind of service from a grocery store and for the little extra you might be paying it is so worth it. Now I won't go anywhere else. This guy knows how to run a business. I am so happy this place is not so far from where we live. I am a Whole Foods shopper, but the taste of veggies and berries sold at Lands Sake beats anything hands down! The variety is not as big as at your local supermarket, but the idea is you eat what is in season and VERY freshly picked. I am addicted to their cherry tomatoes, which is the only thing I pick myself, because your hands smell wonderful afterwards. Great cucumbers, great salad and green mixes, tastiest cabbage, amazing honey, garlic, and scallions. It is always a surprise, so do not plan what you will buy, just go there and get what they have and make your lunch/dinner with it. It's fun! My only request - please get a phone there or update your website regularly, so that when I do want a specific product or need to know whether you ran out of one, I can call and ask. VERY NICE PEOPLE!!! went there to pick veggies and flowers, spent a relaxing day, the young ladies there were very helpful in showing me where and what to pick for the veggies. i picked a large bucket of flowers and made 4 very nice arrangements for my home, with people coming in for my daughter's wedding the place looked like a b&b. i also got some honey and dry rub spices. the girls put water in my bucket for the flowers for the ride home. they were also helpful in suggesting a nice walking path around the reservoir nearby. will definitely be back next year! read more

I like supporting small places like Land's Sake because I think it's worth buying local at a price lower than most grocery stores and you're getting better quality of fruits and vegetables. We've taken the kids twice to go strawberry picking and pea picking. The pea picking was interesting since I've never been before...we found 3-4 different varieties and the kids had a blast sampling the peas as we picked. Both times were a lot of fun and we'll be going back for blueberries & raspberries. It's never really all that crowded during the picking seasons and the people that run the place are laid back and friendly. read more

My favorite local farm! CSAs are amazing as you can pick from such a diverse offering of fresh, local vegetables and pick-your-own flowers. Beautiful farm stand with bread and goodies in addition to loads of veggies and fruit. Education programs are incredible as well. Stopped by to pick strawberries from Boston and informed you must be member to pick! No flexabilty at all. They have a small shop where you can purchase a very limited select of veggies, honey with many of items not even from farm. This is not a real farm but set up by the 1 percenters to have something to do with their free time so they can feel good about themselves doing something for the environment ....... read more

Have been doing the CSA vegetable scheme on and off for several years. Decided to stop this year. We had switched to a 'small' share to avoid wastage. This stopped being an attractive option because of the way the large and small shares were structured. The small share isn't just smaller, which would be fair, but also just a subset of the range of items offered for the full share. This seems less fair. read more

i love this place its so fun for children to pick their own food. i just dont like how there is not a bathroom that is a bad ponit off
