Popped in with a party of 6 after a huge storm rolled in on us at the Rotary Whitecourt Water Slides. The kids were starving and a little cray cray but that didn't phase our fabulous server, Tenaya. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away by the food on this visit but for BP fare it was standard. I tried the breaded jalapeno shrimp tacos at the recommendation of my waitress and they were good but it was missing that little something to make it awesome. I swear the menu said cilantro but I didn't see any. Stuff like that or if they offered a lime hot sauce on the side like Valentina hot sauce. Hubs had the Pizza Burger which again was good but needed just a little something tangy added to give the burger more oomph. The pizza dough wrapped around the burger was perfection and way less than a calzone - definite winning concept. My daughter did not care for her Bugs & Cheese (macaroni shaped like bugs) and it didn't remind me at all of Macaroni and and cheese - more like gooey unsalted alfredo :-( Yuck. My son gobbled up his Kid's burgers. I REALLY really REALLY like that they give you the option of cucumbers and sliced red peppers which both of my kids went for rather than fries - yay! The kids' meals also come with a drink and customized dessert options. Two thumbs up, way up, for great kids' meals in the sense that there are probably more than 30 ways to choose the meal. I totally would have tried some dessert but were were stuffed. The washroom was a little dated and could defintiely use a thorough cleaning but the restaurant was clean and bright with plenty of seating options. I would definitely come again :-) read more

Ok...I guess... Stopped in for lunch today with large group. Service was mediocre at best. No one cameby to offer us drink refils or to check on us the whole time we were there. Pretty basic stuff. Food was typica of the franchise. My individual pyerogi pizza was satisfying. Still... Not impressed with poor service. read more

Boston Pizza used to be one of my regular haunts, say... about 20 years ago. Things have changed a little since Baked Tortellini Alfredo (with a bottomless Diet Coke) on Pasta Tuesday. Since we took a day trip with the kids to Whitecourt, we dropped in to BP for dinner. The Trophy Wife and I shared the Shrimp Tacos and the Pepperoni Bacon Burger, which is essentially a pizza calzone with a burger in the middle. I quite enjoyed the shrimp taco (and I'm not a shrimp fan) but could have done with a little less lettuce. The batter on the shrimp was very nice, with a little bit of spice. They were actually called Spicy Shrimp Tacos. (they weren't really spicy at all; no more than an extra shake of pepper) Surprisingly, I liked the flavour a lot. Two thumbs up. The Pepperoni Bacon Burger I also thought was good and would order it again. Unfortunately, I wasn't informed that when given the option of sides, the cactus cut fries were an additional $3.50. If I would have known that before the bill came, I would have opted for the garden salad. Other than that little faux pas (which I do believe was unintentional, the waitress Tenaya, was extremely nice, attentive and placated our rowdy children very well. Nice job, Tenaya. The kids meals were the typical BP fare, pasta and burgers and for dessert, ice cream with candy on top. This restaurant gets four stars because my daughter's pasta sauce was quite boring (typical kid fare), the cactus cut fry faux pas and the fact that my wife didn't enjoy the meal as much as I did. I placed a takeout order through their website. They were supposed to send a confirmation email, which I didn't receive til the next day. I arrived to pick up my order, and the host got all flustered and said that he didn't think my order was put through. He claimed they were super busy, but the restaurant was about half full. He was going to check on it and make the kitchen prepare on a rush. I sat down to wait for my order. About 10 min later, a guy comes from the kitchen carrying my food and questioning the host about the confusion over my order. Apparently it was there all along, but the host didn't check on it, and just had the kitchen start preparing a new order. I told the host that I hoped the food was still warm, but he assured me it was sitting under a heat lamp the entire time so yes, it would be warm! He also repeatedly claimed that he had no idea how to use their computer system. As I sat there waiting, another customer was flagging down the host and complaining that his party hasn't received service yet. Although I only saw the front of the restaurant, the floor was really dirty. There were used toothpicks and wrappers all over. The restaurant looked pretty run down, like it hasn't been updated since the early 90s. I ordered the Pollo Pomodoro Linguini, and also because this was my first online order, I got a free order of Bandera Pizza Bread. I really wish I had the option of getting the freebie on a future order, since I was by myself and it was too much food for me. The pasta was pretty gross. The noodles were greatly overcooked, possibly due to having sat under the heat lamp for so long. There were cubes of "chicken breast", but it was reconstituted meat, which I find repulsive. Any decent restaurant should serve real chicken breast. The pizza bread was OK, but it was overly salty. Also, I just checked the BP website, and the Pollo Pomodoro Linguini is about $2 cheaper at my Calgary location. read more

My experience here was garbage. Ordered a surprise Valentine's Day pizza for boyfriend. Gave them my visa number. They delivered the pizza, and then charged my boyfriend instead of me. And the pizza was fully round, no heart in sight. Got them on the phone, agreed to reimburse bf. Charged me, no offer of a discount. I mean, come one. read more

Service AND quality of food gets worse every time I go in. I've been visiting this location repetitively for almost 13 years and it's nothing like it used to be. Staff are snobby and don't pay attention to their customers, and it's always freezing. Utter disappointment. read more

Food and service is good but I just witnessed a blonde waitress named Courtney, who was drying utensils, drop a cloth and pick it up off the floor then immediately start drying forks again. Pretty fricken gross. I hope the manager sees this. read more
