My friends and I (five of us in all) needed to get to and from Black Fan Pier in Boston for our cruise on June 1st, and back home from there on June 8th, with a large amount of luggage. After searching from February through April 2018 and finding one place after another with ridiculous price structures, or not the right sized vehicle, we finally found Boston Town Car. A regular limo would not have had room enough for us and luggage, so we knew we needed a larger vehicle and Boston Town Car had just what we needed. Impressed is an understatement. Our first driver impressed us so much, that I requested him to be our driver for our return trip a week later. Unfortunately, that email didn't reach the company since I sent it from the cruise ship and it didn't get through the system. It didn't really matter, because our second driver was great too, just not quite as great as our first one! Both assisted loading and unloading our luggage and both were friendly and quite professional! Their fee was by far much better than any other car service we contacted, and their vehicles were all in great condition and very clean as well. The first one was an 18 (or so) passenger "minibus" with plenty of room for us, and the dozen or so bags we had. He was right on time and was one of the most friendly people I've come across in any service industry. Upon our return from vacation, our second driver arrived at the waiting area for car services shortly after the ship docked and well before we disembarked the ship; I was able to text him and let him know when we would be outside and he came right around. This vehicle was a really nice and large SUV. We were not surprised with any last minute upcharges and no tip was added to our bill; we paid both drivers directly with cash. Their standard rates do not include tip, which we verified with them ahead of time. I have to comment on the fact that I just read their previous horrid reviews and I must say I'm baffled by them, as we experienced nothing but great service from them. The previous reviews here are all two or more year old, so either the Company has greatly improved since then, or something else is amiss with them. Having used their service in the past, I booked for a trip from the South End to Logan expecting it to occur without incident. Unfortunately, not so lucky any more. The price on the website is quoted as $35, but the price has increased to $45, which you are informed of on the phone but no explanation is given for the increase (fuel surcharge?) The car arrived, it was a pretty beat up Lincoln Town Car, dirty inside, seats were torn and in general deplorable condition. The 5.5 mile ride (which takes approx 12 minutes thanks to the new Ted Williams Tunnel) was at a slow pace, the car's suspension and shocks were shot, resulting in a terrific banging at each pothole along the way. The driver delivered me to the terminal, I handed him $5 in cash as a tip and was on my way. I know, I should have just taken a taxi for $30 including tip and toll, but had been stranded waiting for Town Taxi for over an hour just the week before. The kicker was when I checked my credit card statement, $45 became $59.62. A phone call revealed that the $15 extra was for the toll and tip (apparently cash doesn't count and the only thing the driver had done was actually drive, I put my carry-on bag in and out of the trunk myself). When I questioned the charge by phone, I was put on the defensive immediately as the up-charges were described as "industry standard" and that I should look upon my $5 tip as "extra, for the driver - most people do it". So they took $4 for the toll and $10.62 for tip (plus the $10 phantom surcharge you find out about at booking). All told, $65 to go 6 miles. Realizing this was futile, I ended the call and will resolve to NEVER use their service again. I book with Boston Town Car every couple of months for work visitors and we have had nothing but positive experiences with them. They are always on time and courteous. I book online and receive an email confirmation right away. Just make sure you select to meet them outside; they do not come into the airport even though that appears as an option. read more

I booked Boston Town car two weeks in advance, never got a confirmation until I called 3 days before i arrived. I gave all the correct info for Pick up at Boston Logan. I walked out right on Time and walked around looking at all of the other car services WAITING for there clients, But No Boston town car. waited 15 Minutes and called office. They were sorry but driver is running late and will be there in 5 Minutes. 15 Minutes later No Boston Town car Called office again and the were sorry but Driver went to wrong terminal and would be there in 5 Minutes,People this goes on for another 30 minutes, driver called me saying he was still in traffic. they tried to keep me there after 1 hour late. Honestly I took a Cab for 1/4 of the cost of Boston Town Car. I will not use again. I should of read the reviews first. read more

Pros: Our driver was friendly and the car was clean. Cons: We asked for an infant seat for our 6-month old, and the driver showed up with a front-facing booster seat for kids ages 3 and up! We had to fetch our own infant seat and install it. And THEN the driver misunderstood his GPS directions and got on the highway going the wrong way, adding 15 minutes to our journey as he drove to the next exit to turn around. Thank goodness we left plenty of time before our flight. Honestly, they're vastly overpriced for the quality of service. I wish I'd read the Yelp reviews before booking with Boston Town Car -- lesson learned! I definitely wouldn't use them again and encourage you to find another car service. read more

This experience was simply a nightmare. They never showed, didn't call ahead of pick-up time to let us know they were delayed/not coming. Called the customer service number for a refund and they refused, saying the driver was on location at the pick-up time, which he absolutely wasn't. After 30 minutes waiting (we had an event to speak at), we had to call a cab. The customer service agent told me they would not refund because he was on location and that I was lying to him when I said the driver was not there. He told me he "wished things could have gone better if I would tell the truth." On top of that, he refused to provide information for this supervisor. I wish I recorded the call. I recently used Boston Town Car to pick myself and 3 of my friends up in Roslindale and drive us to Logan Airport. We received a quote of $120 ($100 + $20 gratuity) for a 6 passenger stretch limo, so we were surprised to see they sent us a 10 passenger stretch limo for the same quoted price. Our driver Cesar arrived right on time at 3:30am, when he saw us walking out the door he immediately got out and grabbed all our bags for us. He was so polite and sweet, even at that time of the morning. It was my birthday that day so one of my friends brought a bottle of champagne for the ride. Roslindale isn't very far from Logan so we still had half the bottle left by the time we arrived at the airport, Cesar rolled the window down and told us not to rush and finish what we had left. After we got dropped off we were standing in line and talking about how nice he was when I received a text, I dug my phone out of my bag to see a text from Cesar saying he wishes us a great trip, it made our day! I think $120 might be a little pricey for your standard trip to the airport but if you want to splurge a little or have a reason to celebrate I would wholeheartedly recommend Boston Town Car, and more specifically Cesar!! read more

This car service promised to pick me up at 11:00 and at 11:45 I started to panic because I had an international flight and you never know at logan. When I called to find out where the driver was I went to voice mail and NEVER rec'd even a call back. I was so lucky that Vetrans cab was able to get a cab to my location in time. I would highly recommend this limo company! My fiancee and I booked a Boston Town Car limo as a surprise wedding present for our friends who went to Boston on their Honeymoon. Booking the limo was super easy and the driver had checked their flight status and was ready and waiting with a sign when they arrived. The company was also able to arrange for champagne to be waiting for them in the limo-- which was awesome as several of the other companies I phoned were only able to allow liquor but not provide it, which presents a real challenge given that we are from Canada and the limo was intended as a surprise. It was really great to have that taken care of. Our friends had a fantastic time-- they absolutely loved the driver and said he was super knowledgeable and accommodating and took them to several Boston sights to kick off their trip. I feel like this company went above and beyond for us to help provide a super fun memorable experience for our friends on their honeymoon. read more

Full disclosure: I'm giving this two stars because of their attempt at resolution, otherwise 1 star, and only then so you didn't think I forgot to rank. Being the genius I am, I chose BTC on one of the most important nights of my life, my proposal evening. I wanted a classy evening to start off with a nice town car to take us to a special spot, all the while starting my engagement with a lie... that we were only headed to dinner. Hey, it was a surprise. All engagements start with a lie on some level, right? I just wanted a quiet and well-informed, preferably safe driver to drop us off at this special spot, let me do my thing, then have a bottle of champagne open for us to enjoy on our one hour, purposefully extended journey from Jamaica Plain to Mistral for dinner. You see, earlier this week, I sent a detailed itinerary to the company and asked that the driver follow it religiously. Apparently, they did, at least as much as an Atheist follows the Bible religiously. Before you ask, the itinerary was not overly detailed so as to overmanage, but appropriate so that there would be no questions that may tip my girlfriend off to what was happening. It was simple, easy. My friends, it could not go wrong. After all, I had prepared!!! Right? Then I saw the reviews. My God, the reviews. I hoped that they were just being unfair.. that they were written by loathsome beings who are just never happy no matter what... but after a night's lost sleep, I called the company to make sure. "all is ok" I was told. They told me they had "it covered". Hell, they even read me my engagement Bible. My how I wish I had listened to the reviews. Fast forward to the big night. All was well for our 7pm prearranged pickup. My girlfriend was even ready on time! I should've known that was a harbinger for bad news. If only I had listened to the reviews... After 10 minutes looking out the window for an "Uber", my lovely gal suggested we wait outside. 7:20 came and went, then 7:30. At 7:38 the Mercedes S class with one dim headlight (that reminded me of a lazy eye) pulled up. Late enough that my ruse of using an Uber was failing fast, but just shy of the final time my cover of opening the Uber app and saying it wasn't working would work. When the driver exited the car, I was disappointed to see she wasn't dressed as one would expect from a car service. She was dressed more like she was making an afternoon trip to the dollar store. She was very sweet, but rattled and immediately asked if I wanted the champagne (Ugh). After I refused, managing by a hair to keep the anger out of my voice and avoid giving up the whole plan to my girlfriend, our intrepid driver starting driving... the wrong direction.... and asked the question that one would only expect at the end of a cheesy 80's movie, or the beginning of a horror flick: "where to?" My mind flashed to the Engagement Bible. Josh 3:31 "begin thy journey by the street of Green to the Jamaica plain boathouse, but thy shall not speak of it". I asked her to read the Bible, but it was not to be. She had only the Engagement Book of Moron. My surprise died with that question. So I sheepishly told her, all the while cluing my girlfriend in to what was happening. I sat dejected, wondering if the advance notice would give my girlfriend time to realize what she was about to do and start thinking of her college boyfriend. Only to find more horror as the driver proceeded to get lost twice (even though the place was less than a mile away... and she had GPS). Josh 4:41 "proceed to 507 Jamaicaway and pull thy chairiot to the side, alas". But it was not to be, I watched as the boathouse came in to view, and flew by to the rhythm of "isn't that the...." Yes, she drove right by the place. Ever tried making a U turn in Jamaica Plain? No? Don't. So my unfailingly patient girlfriend and I directed her, turn by turn, to the now obvious. Dollar Store lady pulled the car to the side, and I ushered my gal through the torrential downpour to the boathouse of love. Once I had popped the question (and the bottle of champagne, which I had to ask for, ...and which was classily served in Stella Artois beer glasses), the ride was nice while we made calls to excited friends and screeching family (hey, she was drunk, it's not her fault). The driver remained sweet, and I truly wish her well. Maybe she will try another service as well? It turns out this poor sweetling was called in from the bench (aka the dispatch chair) when the driver had a "personal issue".. which I can only hope involved testicles in a vice. Being the company they are, management sent out one of the dispatchers instead of a manager that knew of the Engagement Bible. Not handled well. I negotiated for half the fare and they offered me a free transition to anyplace in Boston (apparently to be used for any local destination that I don't mind being 40 minutes late to....) Please move on. Do it for me, do it for you... Just don't do it with Boston Town Car. read more

If I could give negative stars....NEVER EVER EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! I hired this company to take me from Logan airport to Lebanon, NH when the flight I was booked on was cancelled due to weather. It was short notice, but they said they could pick me up about an hour after I called. I asked if they had a car seat because my car seat was sent to Phoenix by mistake. I told them I needed a toddler seat and they said that yes, they had one. The car was supposed to pick me and my 3-year-old son up at the airport at 12:30. When, by 1:00, the driver had still not arrived, I tried calling them multiple times. No one answered the phone. When finally someone did answer, they told me they had sent a brand new driver who didn't know where to go in the airport, but that she would absolutely, positively be there within 15 minutes. At 1:30 she still wasn't there. She arrived close to 2:00. And there was a car seat in the car, but it was placed in the car, not actually belted in, and was set up for an infant. So it took another 20 minutes to figure out how to change it so that it would fit him, and get it belted into the car. On our way...or so I thought, until I found out my driver had NO CLUE where she was going!! Her Navigation system (provided by the company), didn't work, and she didn't even know how to get on the highway from the airport. I pulled up directions on MY mapquest on my phone, but even then she was like "I'm just going to pull over into this gas station and ask..." It was unbelievable. For a 12:30 pick-up I didn't leave Boston before 3:00. When I called on the way to complain and tell them that under no circumstances would I pay the full amount for this absolutely horrendous service, I spoke to someone who evidently had no power to do anything, but at least he told me he wouldn't charge my card until he had had a chance to speak to his supervisor, who was supposed to have called me back. She never called me back, but did see fit to charge my card for the full amount. When I called back a second time to try to speak to the supervisor, I was told she was already gone for the day (it was 2:30 in the afternoon). I was also told that the only way to send an email to the owner was to send something to the general email for the company and they would forward it. Given their level of service so far I thought this highly unlikely. This is still not resolved. I plan to report them to the BBB of Boston, they charged me 2 $260.00. read more

I use care services all over the U.S. I have never had to wait on a car service for 15 minutes. The rate started out at $45 then ballooned to $72. The price is not the issue. The smell of body order and the fact the driver was 15 minutes late were the issues Not sure if he had to push the car, but that is what it smelled like. Then the dispatch would not even answer the phone after my first call. Needless to say this will be the last time for these guys!! Do yourself a favor and use another service. read more

Limo did not show up at airport. Booked in advance and confirmed day of. When I called from the airport I was told it would take twenty minutes until the limo could get there. They were rude and insensitive. Another limo service was at the curb and offered to take us to our hotel. Do not use bostontowncar. read more
