Botanica El Trebol - Religious Items Near Me - San Jose, California

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I went on the website and ordered 24 of the 7-day/7-color Helping Hand Candles. I live in Chicago. The candles were shipped to me in a box with one sheet of bubble wrap on top. All 24 candles were broken into a thousand pieces upon arrival. There was no label on the outside of the box that indicated "Fragile". None of the candles were wrapped in bubble wrap. I have 10 pictures. I have sent emails, left voice mail messages and no one has called me back nor does anyone answer any of the phone numbers listed on the website or in the shipping emails. I have a church and just wanted the problem rectified and would have continued to re-order from them regularly, but not after this disaster. No one CARES enough to respond via phone or email. 1. no bueno...... misleading spiritual information, old items on shelves covered with dust that haven't moved stale candies expired spices, dead cockroaches on floor, drove for miles to check this place out a few times and each time was disappointed. arrogant clerks. Was recommended this place for hard.to find items. There are some rare things but it's not worth the gas and the attitude of big fish in a little pond. owners should get some better consultants. read more

I was looking for a shop that sold novena candles and figure candles. I saw a few yelp reviews of different botanicas and decided Botanica El Trebol was the ONE because (1) It's close to where I live and (2) They have a website! Last night, I spent an hour or two looking at their website, clicking through their products. I was amazed at their online photo catalog. They have a ton of things! Today, I went in during mid-afternoon. Parked on the street because there's plenty of parking. I felt a bit apprehensive because I've never been to this type of store before. The shop has 3 small rooms in addition to the main room where the cashier is. OMG, they have a HUUUGE selection of novena candles! Sheesh, they have more candles than any metaphysical store I've been to! All 4 rooms have a good selection of candles. I saw some herbs on a rack, too, but I glanced over that because I already have the herbs I need at home. They also have lots of statues. Most of the smaller things like perfumes (come to me, command, fast luck, etc), soaps, florida water, holy water, floor washes are behind the counter. The taper candles are also behind the counter. I didn't have time to look at all the items that they have because they have so many things! Good thing they have that website, eh? The man at the cashier was very nice. He was very accommodating and I easily felt at ease with him and he was very easy to talk to. He even gave me a discount on my novena candles when I told him I found his botanica through Yelp and am making an honest review about this place. Definitely, this place has something for everyone. I understand why people rave about this Botanica. It's very cool. I like that I could walk around and look at things. They have lots of realistic and colorful statues of saints and mythical figures I've never heard of. They also have the best selection of novena candles I've ever seen. Novena candles are tall candles in glass jars. Often the purpose you would use the candle for is printed on the jar, e.g attracting love, getting a steady job, healing and so on. Some of these are specific to saints and stories from legends etc. Others are more generic, eg a white candle that just had the word "Health" printed on the jar, or even colored candles with nothing written on the jar. Others are very specific, including instructions for what to say and when to light the candle. When I was there, the selection of oils was very slim. It was a rather young man who tended the till. He said that he was only filling in and didn't know as much about the products as the proprietor. So I ended up trekking over to Santa Josefina Botanic for the oils. Santa Josefina had the oils I needed but they don't have the selection of candles that Botanica El Trebol has. read more

WOW. Seriously: top notch service. The young man behind the counter was wonderful! David was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was able to pick out candles from their four rooms and I felt completely at ease throughout my entire visit there. They have specialized candles which are prepared (beautiful btw), as well as statues depending on who you're looking for. Although they have a very large selection of statues, and from a variety of cultures. I will DEFINITELY be back to give them my business. I love this Botanica! The staff are super friendly and will happily translate anything for you. They were very knowledgeable about what they have (which is a feat in a store as large as theirs!). They made respectful suggestions when they did not have the exact things I was looking for but were not at all pushy. I love their statues selection and they are happy to try and order what they do not have on hand. I found the perfect Mater Dolorosa statue, but it was missing a gem so they searched around the back room, found one for me, and glued it in place! I was also really impressed by their selection of prayer cards and candles. They carry items imported from a lot of different countries and for many different ATRs. best botanica on earth. pretty sure. well, I will have to assume since I haven't travelled all over earth (yet). the staff here is excellent! I work with one person who tends to all my needs and also has been an incredible guide for years now, with nice help from others in shop as well. my house is starting to look like an outpost of this place and that's a very good thing. they have extensive products available online as well. be patient if you can't get through on phone or stop in and door is locked ... it always opens up again phone wise and storefront wise. refreshing old school shop keeping ways. First time in a Bontanica. I went in preparation for attending a Día de los Muertos celebration, and needed the proper candles for the ofrenda. The gentleman was quite helpful, answered my questions warmly. It's mostly novena candles of every type imaginable. There are also other iconic types of things, small statues of Catholic/Christian figures. I went around 4pm, and parked nearby around the corner. I went in a little bewildered ... I was on my way home from work and that's just how I am for that time. Store is well stocked and organized nicely. There's a variety of supplies oils, candles of every sort, saint statues, incense, and herbs. I've never seen so many candles in my life, so whatever problem you're having there's a candle for it. This store is the best botanica I have been to so far. They have the regular stuff you find but they also have a unique selection of Santa Muerte items. The gentleman working there was informative, friendly and helpful. He must have been burning a yellow candle cuz we spent a bundle there. We will definitely return to Botanica El Trebol. Amazing selection, clean, organized, and the gentleman who attended is an absolute angel. He was soft spoken and one of the kindest folks I've ever met at a botánica. He speaks English if you struggle with Spanish like I do. I'm a "Spanglish" speaker since I don't use Spanish very often. The vibe I got walking in was positive and uplifting. This is such a lovely mystical little botanica. The guy who works there is really nice and patient, and can translate for you! I get all my special candles here and I feel they really help.
