I had two very sick lab's that came from a kennel sick throwing up and not eating. I called for an appointment... to hear, we will see the dogs at 3:30 but do not bring them into the lobby. I pull up at 3:20 pm on10/11/25 a vet assistant came out at 3:25 and asked to wait for a few minutes and she will be right out. Well 25 minutes later in the hot sun and getting hot, after all cars left and one pulled up No vet as of yet? so I go in behind a man with a small dog that was also throwing up and he was allowed in ? when I got to the window the assistance was ready to give me a bill for sitting outside not seeing any one It was the same person I saw at 3:25 when I pulled up. Vet was very kind and went over every detail with us. Our first visit was a success and all our animals will be seeing them.

Took my pooch, Flynn, in as he had broken a canine tooth and it had become infected. They saw him quickly and had the tooth out within 3 days of the initial visit. Great care from Dr. Havrila and staff. All sweethearts. They listened to my concerns and reassured me of his care, and gave a very reasonable cost estimate. Final bill was actually $50 less than the estimate, including the initial visit. Let me also state that I am returning to BVH from VCA Animal Hospital because of significantly higher pricing. Roughly 3X the cost there. Thanks to the staff for taking such good care of my best friend. I'll be back! read more

OMG..they are beyond awesome. I was so worried about my Yorkie not being able to walk on all fours. I asked Olivia ( such a beautiful name) how they operate their emergency appointments. I understand now how it works. They called me when they had a cancelation. I arrived, and they were awesome. Dr. Muse was FANTASTIC! I would recommend them to the world. I am so happy I transferred my fur babies' records to them. Dr. Muse was not quick for surgery. We are doing Laser Thereapy. I really recommend this Veterarian for your fur babies. Dr. Kristen Miller disregarded a previous diagnosis of Giardia on one of my puppies. The puppy was on metronidazole but my client was advised by Dr. Miller that the puppy did not need metronidazole and metronidazole was the wrong medication. The puppy was prescribed Albon for a diagnosis of Coccidia. No dispute about the Coccidia. However, any vet knows that Giardia doesn't show up on a fecal all the time even if positive. Dr. Miller's neglect and disregard of prior diagnosis of Giardia caused the puppy to die because he did not receive his medications. Very dissatisfied and disappointed in this mediacor practice. read more

We were in an emergency situation and called Botetourt veterinary Hospital. We had an appointment at another veterinarian and when we got there there was a sign on the door that said the power was out and we would need to call emergency vet services or Botetourt veterinary Hospital. We called Botetourt veterinary Hospital and explained the situation. They were so kind, understanding and compassionate. They told us to come to their facility and that they would work us in. This was the day before Christmas Eve and we had a 13-year-old large dog that needed to be put to sleep. They brought in my family of four along with our beloved 13 year old large dog and handled every detail of the situation better than we ever expected. They not only dealt with putting our dog to sleep, they compassionately dealt with four bawling crying humans. Because we had an appointment at the other veterinarian we knew the cost of having your dog put to sleep. I had already called the emergency vet clinic to find out how much it would cost if we had it done there. Botetourt veterinary clinic was priced below either of the other two offices which was absolutely shocking to me. We changed to this vet years ago because of the disrespect shown us at a neighboring practice and have never regretted it. The vets here are competent and compassionate. I have never, in a long lifetime of having dogs and cats, had such a comforting experience of euthanizing a pet as we did yesterday by Dr. Miller, Shelly and Janice. As a dog lover and sometime breeder through the years, I rank this vet clinic as top of the line. The staff and Dr. Porter are so caring and knowledgeable as they have helped me through so many conditions with my dogs through the years. I have 2 sweet Lab-mixes with chronic problems. My Lucy almost died when she developed diabetes on top of another kidney disease, but they pulled her through and have helped me through her hard times on and off for over 4 years. Lucy is doing well and I am sooo happy. Her diabetes could not have been be managed without Dr. Porter and I will be forever grateful. read more

This is the best vet's office I have ever been to. The staff is amazing. Dr. Bailey was the one who first took care of our dogs over 13 years ago and still does. He is always so kind and caring. Dr. Muse and Dr. Stewart have also taken care of our dogs with the utmost care when Dr. Bailey was not available. Dr. Stewart was so very thoughtful to help me through at a very crucial and heart wrenching time when one of our dogs had to be put down recently. She went above and beyond the call for sure. I cannot say enough about this place. I will miss everyone there when the time comes for us to move. read more
