The…read morephoto booth was a huge hit--everyone, whether solo or in a group, could take home their own copies, and the bride and groom received a full set of all the photos. The props were fantastic and clearly well-chosen; it felt like every single one was used, and guests of all ages had a blast. The DJ was absolutely wonderful. From the youngest guests to the older generations, everyone was on the dance floor. One guest even said, "I have not danced that much in years--or ever!" The DJ followed the bride's outline perfectly, from the grand entrance to the final song. Announcements were enthusiastic and well-timed, and when attention was needed, the DJ gave gentle reminders so no one missed a moment. The music kept the energy high all night long. Even those of us who usually head to bed by 9 PM were still dancing at 11:30--and had to be coaxed off the dance floor! Set-up and tear-down were handled entirely by the DJ team. The lighting and sound setup created a vibrant party atmosphere without clashing with the wedding décor. I cannot recommend this DJ team enough. They were professional, fun, and truly elevated the celebration. Very impressed!

Shayna not only did the flowers for our ceremony arch (which was easily moved to the head table after to be our center piece runner), bouquets, boutonnières, and many arrangements for display, but we also rented the whiskey barrels and a neon sign from her! As far as the flowers themselves go, every piece Shayna made for us had so many beautiful individual pieces that all fit perfectly together to make such stunning, elaborate arrangements. I ordered flowers for my sister's birthday to be delivered the same day ($10.00 upcharge). She emailed back to confirm she messed up and the website was wrong; started out good. I opted to deliver on a Monday instead (this was a Friday). Needless to say, lesson learned by trying a new florist. No delivery and a $70.00 charge I have now disputed with my bank as Miss Shayna went MIA. If you are looking for quality flowers, I cannot speak on that as I never saw any, but if customer service and details are important to you, seek flowers elsewhere. Try Patricia's Petals. We tried to have breakfast there this morning. It was a remarkably dumb experience. Our total order…read more(for four people) comprised two English muffins (one with peanut butter), one order of wheat toast, and one milk shake. The untrained, dim-witted server took the English muffin order from one of us, then disappeared. When she brought the toasted muffin she took the second person's order, for the milk shake. After she brought the milk shake she took the remaining orders (second muffin, and whole wheat toast). They have two toasters. She was unwilling to write anything down, so we needed to keep correcting her ("no, WHEAT toast" and "now can I have peanut butter please?"). They can apparently do hamburgers, but not eggs. Perhaps the burgers are patties heated in a microwave oven. The handling of the peanut butter probably violated the health ordinances for Iowa restaurants: the big jar was delivered to our table (help yourself, but try not to sneeze!), no doubt to be used to make pb&j sandwiches for other people. Small towns are supposed to be peopled with smart folks who can figure stuff out. Not so this morning in Grundy Center, Iowa.

We had such a wonderful experience with Kate yesterday! We wanted to do a fun photo shoot for my…read moregrandma for her upcoming 84th birthday. We called them "glamma shots." Get it? Grandma glamour shots? We knew Kate would be the one to make this a fun and engaging experience for her. We were right. Kate immediately had my grandma feeling comfortable. She made sure my grandma could hear her (she's hard of hearing; most nurses can't even be bothered to speak up). And she was very careful in having her move around. She found all the beautiful flowering trees and a willow tree--one of my grandma's favorites. She would also tease her to get real smiles! My sister is incredibly picky about photographers (heads/feet cut off, too much editing, etc.). And Click by Kate checked out. By the end, my mom was asking if she does weddings, which she does! I could see my mom thinking about her other kids that still might get hitched down the road. Kate would be great! We had some fun props we brought (antique, family broaches, a photo of my grandma at 19, some flowers, cupcakes), and Kate also provided some stools, chairs, lace tablecloths, and a cake plate. My grandma loved being in the center of attention! But Kate also made sure we didn't take too long and wear my grandma out. She's very conscious of her photo subjects! What is there to say about Rachel? Well, let's start with the fact that she made everything super…read moreeasy... straight forward.... and awesome. She is all smiles and has a great sense of humor, by the end of our wedding day I was just bummed that she didn't live closer so that we could hang out and watch the Big Bang Theory. The pictures that she took are amazing. You can tell that she cares about delivering a quality product. She's not earning a paycheck she is doing something that she loves. At one point after our wedding she was in a tree trying to get the perfect shot. Is that dedication or what!? The price is dirt cheap for everything that you are getting. The engagement session, the wedding, edited photos, and the print rights! There is even an app which makes it super easy to share pictures with... well let's face it, anyone who's willing to look at them! She didn't charge us to travel for our wedding and was willing to go anywhere that we wanted for pictures. I have already recommended her to a few people getting married here shortly and will continue to do so for some time. Separating the convention center from the hotel.....the convention center was pretty good. The…read moreonsite staff were helpful and kept on top of things rather well. I didn't like how quickly they pulled the food at our wedding reception, full trays at that. We still had people who had not finished their first plate. The room was set up nicely and they were willing to help us once the festivities began. I wouldn't stay at the hotel again, but i would use the convention center if the opportunity was there.
