Yep, complete panic attack, thought I was going blind, played possum. I also did this at the hairdresser, 5 hours before my ssiter's wedding. I have to stay off WebMD and the like because once I burnt my tongue and convinced myself I had oral thrush brought on by HIV... even though there was NO WAY that this was even REMOTELY possible. I'm a basket case. So, making an initial visit after not going to a dentist for 3-4 years, knowing full well I at best had a broken tooth and at worst must have oral cancer and have to have my jaw removed... I was pretty sure I'd pass right out in the chair. I called on Monday and they were able to get me in that Thursday. I had to get there early to fill out paperwork. Upon walking in, everything was so bright and cheery and the staff was.... cheerful? I don't expect that at any sort of health care facility, mouth, eye or otherwise. Ok, was able to breathe. Got paperwork done, and they took me almost immediately (10 minutes early) for my initial appointment. I wish I could remember the names of the dentist and her wonderful assistant. They had me cracking up from moment one. I was an early appointment, I wish I could remember all the banter going on between the two, but my favorite quote was "we aren't going to take any heroic measures to save it" about my poor broken tooth. I couldn't stop laughing, but they were still able to poke and prod in my mouth, despite the constant giggling. She also was right on top of an issue I've had since my tooth came in... last dentist I went to, I had to explain it to him. Friendly? Check. Clean? Check. Knowledgeable? Check. Freakin hilarious? Check. Turned me from Baby Huey without his bottle back into a sane human? Check check and CHECK! Made me want to go back to the DENTIST? Check! Billing... not cheap, I don't have insurance, but seems pretty reasonable. Gotta pay 300 smackeroos for my wisdom tooth to come out in a few weeks. I was expecting it to be more expensive! I'll take it. All in all, GREAT experience!!

    Until recently, this practice was was very patient-friendly and the receptionists were very…read morehelpful. I think something has changed--there is more of a corporate by-the-book attitude lately. I also recall more attention from the dentists after a cleaning, and seeing the same ones over time. Not so now. The hygienists are still very nice and competent. But I am no longer very happy with it.

    After dealing with the very RUDE, Aspen Dental Office on Boston Rd., Springfield, MA I'd finally…read morehad enough. My elderly mom just should never have been handled that way. The staff and the dentists are all about the money, and completely oblivious to the comfort of elderly patients. Now compare that to New England Dental Group on Cooley St. Springfield, MA. The staff is exceptionally caring and considerate. From the first phone call, throughout. I didn't have all her info, which I should, but didn't. They didn't get flustered with me. Eventually, mom found her cards. And they got everything all set up. You could not find a nicer dentist than Dr. Kashyap, aka, Dr. K. He is wonderful and explained everything, in better detail. He is very personable and attentive, my mother felt very reassured almost immediately. As It turns out mom can keep more of her teeth than we'd thought! "Thank you for finding this place. I like it so much better!" Me too, Mom, me too. Highly recommended. And even though there aren't many reviews here, I would add that several people we saw while there expressed how much they like the dentist and staff there. The office is clean and bright, with books and magazines. Appointments are made in a timely manner. And the tech staff are pleasant and very efficient! You won't regret choosing THIS place.

The first dentist said I would be contacted quickly for my deep cleaning.. I waited and waited no call. I started calling and was told I would get a call-NO CALL!!!! Then, I emailed -only email was the one they got from the insurance company. So, I called the insurance company--they did not put in a claim to the insurance company till 8 weeks after my first visit-TWO MONTHS. Then, I was told I was approved and no one called me, Then, I was super mad and called. Manager called me and said she told the insurance person at their office to call me-no one did. So, I get an appointment and was told 1 o'clock. I go to office and was informed I was late-appointment was 12-I said I was told 1. Woman at desk got rude; I got ruder. Then, another person came with an attitude-gave it back and yelled-2 1/2 months. Then, manager comes out with her phony calm attitude- I said I had every right to be angry- 2 1/2 months and both women prior to her were rude. So, dentist comes out and admits the office is not properly organized, they are just employees, etc. If you are an employee, that does not give you the right to do a job incompetently. and he says we serve 5000 a year-so, sorry what happened to you. Will I go again-NO-would I recommend--No. This office needs to have better follow-up procedures, to return calls as well as emails, and staff should learn not to be rude to clients and make a situation worse, In the future, when I need dental work, I will call the insurance company and ask for a list of dental offices.
