Tiger being "himself". Big, giant Fluffy kitty

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Outstanding Competent, Gentle and Genuine "We Care" Vet and Team![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is SO amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My experiences have been with Dr Celena Eden's, Dr Leibering and Vet Tech Samantha as well as other vet techs from 4-5 years ago.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A few years ago, my 17-year old Ragdoll kitty was in bad shape and Dr Eden's bent over backwards to help diagnose what was wrong, propose conservative treatments and support his end of life care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am forever grateful to her! so giving of her time, compassionate and just a beautiful soul[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Recently, I've had to bring in Tiger, our male ragdoll kitty for a loose incisor tooth (literally just dangling), and nail/toe clipping education. Dr Leibering was so awesome with her exam on all of his teeth, gums and toes/ nails. Samantha did a brilliant job taking care of Tiger and showing me how to trim his nails. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thank you Lookout vet! We SO appreciate you[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

    Peter(now happy and healthy)

My cat suddenly started limping and was in severe pain and they immediately triaged him and fit him into their already full schedule. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can tell every person working there genuinely cares for animals and they really take the time to explain things to you with compassion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They are very up front and honest with pricing. Peter is back to his happy, healthy self. Cannot recommend enough!

My sweet Blackie a few months before her unexpected and sudden passing due to lymphoma, she was a very special cat Mommy.

This is just to say thank you so very much to Dr Celena Edens for having saved the cat that had a perforated diaphragm, being that it was a complicated and risky procedure speaks volumes about her compassion and love for people and animals.I wish other veterinarians would emulate your generosity and devotion to make this world a much better place, whenever I find in the Phoenix AZ vicinity I will make sure to stop by to take my kitties to have them taken care by you.

    This handsome guy agrees!

We had a virtual urgent care call and they were concerned enough that we brought him into The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic to check in on him. After an ultrasound, they found that he had a mass on his spleen and was internally bleeding, and had to go into immediate overnight emergency surgery. The surgery was successful, and after a 36 hour hospital stay, Barkley is back home and on the mend. While this was such a scary experience and few days, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic and their team. They are open 24/7/365, and provided around the clock care. Because of the length of his stay, we worked with and spoke to multiple of their veterinarians and assistants (thank you to Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Fleming, Dr. Goldberg, and Dr. Blackmon), and everyone was so kind, attentive, and caring through every step of the process, gave us calls throughout the night with updates and over the past few days to check in on Barkley's progress, and were so compassionate in all of the care they provided. Barkley was in such great hands. Thank you to the The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic team!

Not long after checking them out my pup told me it was time and we went immediately to them on a Friday morning when they opened. They had the perfect room for him. It was the corner one with the big window. My pup loved being outside and it was the perfect spot for him, he stared outside the window into nature. They gave us a whole cart of treats to give to him and the doctor and staff was so kind and compassionate. The staff from the very first time we walked in to the time I was called to pick his ashes up was absolutely amazing. It was the only time they truly saw him and it felt like they had cared for him so many times before. I couldn't of ask for a better place and staff to have my dog cared for. They were so kind to us and even complimented on how good he was but that was his demeanor, he was always kind and sweet. Thank you Scottsdale animal Hospital! You made a tough experience easy and smooth and made us feel welcomed.

The vet came in next we discussed the options, he has arthritis and allergies. She let us know of an injection for arthritis we never knew existed. She really loves animals and out dog, who is a ham. We asked going forward if we could get a room immediately and they said yes and asked if we wanted one with an exit door, so our dogs do not have to go through the waiting room. We said yes. Again never asked that by any vet. You can pay right in the room, another win. We have another dog who needs to be looked at. I can tell you as someone who just moved here, we will use them 100% for all our dogs and their needs! Added bonus we are able to schedule with the same vet going forward, which is great because they get to know your pet and their personality.

I fed her daily but wasn't allowed to bring her inside. After I moved, the guilt kicked in and I began the mission of trapping a community cat who is clearly smarter than most people I know. Eventually... success. I called ahead to ask if bringing in a trapped semi-feral cat was even a thing. The staff was incredibly kind and reassuring. The team handled it like absolute pros and whisked her away so I didn't have to watch the chaos unfold. From what they shared, Cat immediately demonstrated her Olympic-level wall-scaling abilities, but they managed to take care of everything we needed, AND walked me through a clear cost breakdown before doing anything, thank you! And were genuinely kind through the whole process. Cat is now home, safe, and pretending none of this ever happened. We'll be back for boosters... assuming I can outsmart her again.

However, there should never be a situation where the cat gets out of its carrier and is bouncing around the room. It is, of course, dangerous for the cat and everyone else. The folks that are really expert at handling ferals are the spay/neuter clinics. They service a ton of feral cats, because we TNR volunteers go there all the time. They also charge much less than regular vets. It is extremely helpful to get the feral cats into a double-exit trap too, rather than a regular carrier. It is so much easier for the staff at the clinic. Check out Altered Tails, Midwestern, the AHS, and my favorite, Low Cost Spay & Neuter (formerly AZSpay-- $55 per cat to fix a feral).

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Chuck Toben. I just wish every vet treated my dog the way…read morehe does. My dog is geriatric, medically complex, previously abused and used to hate but is now just pretty avoidant of most men. Within the first couple of visits my dog leaned on Dr. Toben's legs while my dog was feeling weak....I was absolutely floored. Dr. Toben has gone out of his way to help my dog, last minute, over the phone, with appointments, and has been just so insightful and helpful in a way so many other vets cannot do. Most primary care vets get super overwhelmed w/ my dog's health problems, as a lot of my dog's health issues have unknown causes. I went to see many primary care docs in the valley who I really could not trust w/ my dog, or tolerate myself (over 5). Dr. Toben has never even once snapped at me or my dog, gotten overwhelmed (in a way that was even remotely perceivable anyway), has never tried to nickle & dime me, and most importantly, has never given up on my dog. I just cannot place a value on Chuck's honest approach to animal care and kindness towards my dog and me. Chuck will keep trying, trying different things, is always open to suggestions, knows when to sort of make firmer recommendations and take control and when to give space for feedback. He's crazy smart, he knows about so many of my dog's issues in a way that usually only internal med docs seem to be able to discuss, and he is consistently genuinely compassionate and humane. Dr. Toben is just basically a freaking giant brained angel. My only regret is that I'm not loaded so I can't make a massive donation to this clinic. This is exactly what I think all vets should be like, I of course have been really very picky and have a dog w/ a very difficult medical status, and I definitely 1,000% recommend him. Chuck is the first doc I've strongly recommended, by the way, after seeing 2 primaries in MO, 5 specialists in MO, 2 docs in Mexico, 3 internal med docs in AZ, and more than 5 primary care vets in AZ....again, my dog is a very difficult medical case, and Dr. Toben is absolutely the doc for the hardest cases....and thank God that there are vets out there like Chuck who are so good for our poor beloved pets who were previously abused b/c these animals are so sorely in need of kindness and quality care. I'm eternally grateful for this clinic and Dr. Toben.
