Love LOVE this spot. The vibes, the menu, the coffee, the croissants. As an adventurous eater, hole in the wall finder, mom and pop joint seeker, authentic lover, sometimes you just need a super hipster, tin roof café equipped with bakery display, latte art, and succulents tucked into crevice one can find. Not only is it ridiculously Instagram worthy (from the ceramics to the bearded waiters) the food is actually phenomenal. During my 4 day Oaxaca stay, I ate here 3 times (and it would have been a fourth had it been open one day). The Shakshuka, baked goods, croissant sandwiches, even muesli are all amazing. Suggest getting there right as it opens otherwise you're going to be waiting around taking photos until you get seated. read more

I cannot comment on the dining experience because myself and my party were never seated. We arrived a little before 11:30am and told there would be a wait or over just 30 minutes, so we wrote our names on their list. The host was absolutely unprofessional in his work. There were several parties who arrived after us and were seated before us of around the same size (4), and when we went to check-in and ask why we hadn't been seated, he could not give us a clear answer. I will note that these individuals seated ahead of us despite their later arrival were white Mexicans and those who appeared to have more money, and our party came were all Mexican-Americans who spoke fluent Spanish as well (possible classism or racism here?). In fact, a couple who arrived after was seated at a four party table, and the host only said that he could not prove they arrived before us. Finally after more than an hour, we just left. I do not recommend going here, or if you do, prepare to bear with a really long wait. I'm sure the food is good, but I guess I'll never know now. read more

We went to breakfast here twice in the main courtyard and once for happy hour at the back bar near the restrooms. A few tips: expect to wait- this place is popular with locals and tourists there will be a wait sometimes 10 minutes sometimes 20 minutes- be nice, don't ask for your turn just wait patiently. If you are okay sitting at a large table to share with other parties of 2 this will make the wait less - Mesa compartida esta bien. Also most people speakk englIsh however they are very patient with you if you would like to practice your Spanish while ordering. Definitely try spanish first the if you can't find the word use English. To pay- you can ask for the check at your table or just go to the register girl point to your table and she'll pull up your ordeer on the screen to double check, you can pay with card or cash directly- she will ask what you'd like to tip you can say 20% percent and she'll take care of it so no math needed. The back bar bartenders are so fun and amazing to speak with- we practiced our Spanish and they practiced their engLish all while learning more about each other. Back bar only has 4 seats so you do have to check in with the host for seating- there are bees at the bar due to all the fresh fruit and juices is this bothers you go to a table. All the food is good so don't worry about what to order. ONE last thing- they sell the hot sauce and marmalade in the bakery next door- the salsa Catalina is insane and one of my favorite hot sauces I've ever had we bought 2 to take home. Wow this is long but this place deserves the hype! Just remember to be polite and patient we saw too many Americans being rude to the host while waiting and made us cringe. All the reviews said this place is good for breakfast and they are correct. First of all, the address is not correct. They moved across the street more than a year ago, according to them. There was a long line when we came at 930am but it moves very fast. The restaurant is much bigger than you can see. I had the Shakshuka, which is poached eggs with yummy spicy tomatoes and onion sauce. It is so good and fresh. Every table goes for extra pastry. I tried the banana bread, it was good but too dense. Next time, I'll try their croissant. Looks really flaky. Definitely a must go place. read more

I went here with my friends and let me tell you their food was amazing. They have amazing pizzas and excellent sandwiches. The pizzas are a decent size and so are the sandwiches. The sandwiches have a harder bread and you can ask for the sandwich without an ingredient if you would like. All of the prices are reasonable and cheap. I will definitely be coming back sometime to have another sandwich and my friends will be coming back to demolish more pizzas. Damn this place is good! Delicious stone oven pizzas, crisp creative salads, simple delicious sandwiches, spicy sauces. Kambucha in Oaxaca? What? All so tasty! Beyond the food the patio is open and guarded from the heat, the atmosphere is comfortable and chill and the staff is attentive and friendly. It's all in the details here. The pizza crusts are brushed with olive oil, and the pizzas come out perfectly crispy. The sandwiches are made on delicious home made bread. When you're wanting to switch things up and need something different from Oaxaca's traditional food this is your spot. My boyfriend and I probably ate here 5+ times and we were so sad it was closed on our last day in Oaxaca. Love this restaurant, I want to take it home with me. read more

Yup, I did it. I had an American-style breakfast (a break from all the yummy Oaxaca brunches) - pancakes, aka, hot cakes. Everything about the gluten-free hot cakes was finger-licking good. Great pastries. I wish I knew the names of the pastries I bought. For sure one of them was the pan de muerto which had of hint of orange, a sandwich cookie , and a fruit cake like disk. The sales girl was too rushed and wasn't too keen on explaining what the items were. Another customer, a local, told me about the pan de Muerto. She said everything was good. We also had the almond croissant while waiting for our breakfast. That was also memorable. One of the best I've had. Ever. Breakfast inside: a hip place. I didn't care much for the Kashuska. I read a yelp review about how much they liked it. I wanted to like it but not a fan of tomatoes and onions. I liked my husband's order of the English muffin better. Inexpensive for those with dollars. Slightly pricey by local standards. Their bakery next door offers very high quality items, some sold at the restaurant. More expensive than regular bakeries but still inexpensive for the quality. As of Nov 2018, the exterior sign was reportedly stolen. The building exteriors are "distressed" so look carefully for open doors. Restaurant is in a court yard. A bit run down but not unattractive. read more
