Nick Easley was our Project Manager and we really couldn't compliment him enough for going above and beyond to provide us with world-class service. We really struggled with our insurance company throughout this process. We struggled with the insurance company calling back after we filed the hail damage claim. Then the insurance company only wanted to cover half of the roof replacement. At first the insurance adjuster told us only the back was going to be covered and then later said only the front would be covered. Nick was so patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. He came out multiple times during the project, aligned his schedule with the insurance company's contracted inspector (whom Nick was familiar with) and even joined me on a call with the adjuster. The way I see it, Nick saved us easily $5,000 out of pocket due to his experience and diligence. Once we got alignment with Insurance, Nick Easley even arranged his schedule so one of his visits would overlap with the visit from our gutter cover rep so they could coordinate work. The roof replacement was scheduled quickly to accommodate our tight depreciation deadline. Nick provided great communication through out the project- we knew what to expect with materials being dropped off, what we would do if the blizzard that week impacted the schedule, and he gave me a backup contact with Shamrock because he thought he would be inaccessibile for a period of time. The entire project happened when expected and the actual roof replacement only took one day. The crew that came out was very polite , efficient, and the finished roof looks amazing. The crew did a very nice job of cleaning up after the work and they paid extra attention to looking for rogue nails in our driveway. During and following the roof replacement, Nick came out to oversee the project and also looked for rogue nails in the driveway (I told him it was a concern for us). During Nick's final inspection we noticed a small piece of wood trim that was knocked off during the roof replacement. Nick had the crew supervisor return the very next day to replace it and paint it. We honestly have nothing but positives to say about Shamrock Roofing and their Project Manager, Nick Easley. I would be happy to recommend them to anybody that needs work done.

Their salesman got up there and much to my surprise, he came back down and said it looks good, but he spotted some light wood rot that I was able to fix myself. I was thankful for his honesty and we discussed the age of my roof, who put it on, and he used that info to help sell 50 year roofs to the rest of the neighborhood. As a person who roofed in my teens and into college, I was impressed with his professionalism, and being a sales manager,I liked his creativity. While watching his crew work, the tear off guys were lightning quick and the old roofs were hauled off the same day. The roofing crews that came in the next day worked their tails off despite the 100 degree heat. My next roof will definitely be put on by these guys, I'll accept no substitutes.

He came out, reviewed the issue, ascertained that the leak was likely due to flashing issues around vent pipes, and said he would send out his best worker to fix the problem the following week. After one additional follow up call (the following week turned into a week and a half), the roofer came out and fixed the problem. (We hope.) I'm still not impressed with how long it took to get in touch with Gentry. Their answering service has very nice people working for it, but they're basically useless when it comes to scheduling. They need to work on that. I also didn't enjoy having to get the former contractor involved. I'm not interested in working with them again, and every time I contact them for any reason, they want to know when we're going to be updating our kitchen. ::sigh:: But, hopefully, our roof has been fixed. Original review: Gentry installed our new DaVinci Bellaforte Shake 50 yr tiles back in 2012. Great product, seemingly great company...we were very happy with their work and product. However, here we are in 2017, and we have a leak. We discovered it a couple of weeks ago after several rounds of heavy rain in the Kansas City area in early/mid August. I contacted Gentry immediately, the day we discovered the leak, which was Tuesday, August 22nd. I left a message with their delightful receptionist, Edna, and waited to hear back. Friday, August 25th, I followed up with a phone call to John Howard's cell number that I have, and had to leave another message. I still hadn't heard back by Tuesday, Aug 29th, so I contacted Edna at the office again. She took my information, said she would make a note that this was my 2nd time calling (I told her technically it was the 3rd, since I'd left a message on John's cell the previous Friday), and apologized for the delay in someone getting back to me. It is now Saturday, Sept 9th. I left another message with what sounded like an answering service on Weds, Sep 6th, and also tried reaching John again via his cell phone on Thursday, Sep 7th, hoping that due to the earlier hour, I might be able to catch him before he got busy during the day. Friday, I left another message with the service, who was apologetic again about my lack of response, but...still no call back. We love our new roof, and the only thing we would do differently is to install clips to help with ice and snow sliding issues at the time of the install of the roof. (Although, to be honest, I don't know if the issue is with the type of product used, or the installation, or what, so maybe I don't love our roof? ::sigh:: ) But at this time, I cannot recommend Gentry Roofing, until I hear back from one of their representatives who can help us with the leak in our roof. I'm worried that, since our 5 year warranty on the "workmanship" is about to expire in October, I'm being ignored due to that. (p.s. my husband and a contractor that we were working with at the time hired Gentry without doing any background checking on them. Their webpage has all of 1 former client "testimonial" on it, and there are literally NO REVIEWS anywhere on the internet about the company. They aren't a member of the BBB, so that's not a route that can be taken to file complaints. It's concerning. He was straightforward, honest, fairly priced, and did not try to take advantage of our situation. His team was hardworking, skilled, responsive to our requests, and tried their best to prevent damage to the trees and shrubs. I do not have issue with the workmanship of the 3 kick-out flashings your employee/contractor. As far as I'm concerned, he's a true craftsman's. I do, however, have issue with what you quoted as related to the amount of time spent on the project and the cost of the materials. If I had known your employee would spend less than 45 minutes at my house I would have gotten additional quotes. I believe the cost of materials (what I would have paid for the parts): Materials: $3.00, 3 each, 8 x 8 Step flashing, modified to be a kick-out flashing $1.00 each $1.00, 12 nails - Less than a $1.00 $7.00, 1 - Partial tube of caulking $11.00 total cost of materials Labor Charge out Rate: $700 less $11.00 equals $689 for less than 45 minutes of labor. My math shows your charge out rate of $918 an hour. You may recall, I mentioned these facts to you when you advised me the work had been completed. I'm going to pay this bill because I did not get additional quotes. I hope others will learn from my mistake of not receiving a second quote.
