Was looking for a new gym in Edmond and this was not it. The bathrooms smelt like something died in…read morethem and half of the toilets either didn't work or were backed up. No one wiped down or cleaned any machine after any use and I never saw an employee clean any piece of equipment. Watched multiple gym goers walk barefoot in and out of the restroom back onto the gym floor. Lastly as the owner is a female you would think she would have taken a comment about a female gym goer not feeling comfortable around certain male gym goers more serious seeing as a few weeks after this a certain old man was texting under aged girls.

This facility is not promoting health, wellness, or safety for their members. Hello: My fiancé and I joined Key Fit Club a few months ago and were aware that the gym was beginning to transition to a new building. After a few particularly negative experiences I wanted to bring a few concerns to your attention. I am regularly observing members misusing equipment and not following a dress code. This is concerning from a health and safety standpoint. Although this is not an uncommon issue and happens at most gyms it is happening consistently enough it should be addressed with specific members to ensure the safety of all members. Members are not adhering to a basic dress code by not wearing shoes and socks and even taking off their shirt while working out. Specifically, members are walking to and from the bathroom and throughout the training area as well as training without socks or shoes. Unfortunately, I have witnessed gym employees misusing equipment and removing their shoes and socks to exercise as well. This is particularly concerning because of the standard that these behaviors set for other gym members to not use the facility in a safe and appropriate manner. There are regularly members of the gym using the facility while they are noticeably high. This is prevalent on weekdays between 5:00pm and 7:00pm and obvious due to the potent smell. I do not feel it is appropriate for this to be tolerated because of the overwhelming smell it causes in the gym. I am also concerned that this is happening while there are children's classes happening in the gymnastics gym next door. Due to the above concerns: improper use of equipment, lack of dress code, and marijuana use I do not feel like Key Fit Club is promoting a safe and healthy gym environment particularly for females. The gym should be a safe place for individuals to work towards their goals. My personal training has been disrupted and I have been distracted from my goals due to the above referenced issues I have experienced. I have become uncomfortable being at the gym without my fiancé or a friend there with me because of the actions of other members. I have experienced harassment in a gym setting before and believe the environment that is being cultivated at Key Fit Club is promoting gym harassment and gym intimidation. I understand the gym is in the process of transitioning and moving locations. When we joined, we knew we would need to exercise some grace for the transition process. I would like to see these issues addressed and changes made moving forward in the current and new facilities. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss this further. I look forward to hearing from you about how you plan to improve the member experience at Key Fit Club.

It was a tough class but you could modify everything we did. I had to do less pushups then we were supposed to do. Not a big deal. Everyone in the class was very nice and I really enjoyed it. I may not be able to move tomorrow but it was fun today. The facilities are top notch and spotless. They have really nice locker rooms with showers and lockers. If you don't want to do a class, they have all the equipment of other gyms. They also offer childcare. I highly recommend this gym if you are looking for a great place to get in top shape.

Then the free weight/machine areas are divided into an upper body area and a lower body area. There's a studio area for fitness classes and an open area in the back for their boot camp classes. The staff is friendly and they offer a good selection of post-workout smoothies. My only complaint was some of the clients throwing and dropping their weights, like they were working out with Arnold. I've never been a fan of those "gym" people that insist everyone see how loud and intense they are. I don't care- and I'd like to see the staff admonish anyone who slams and drops their weights. You're tearing up the floor and the equipment and you're annoying me. They have a great app, and they are on MindBody as well. Prices are reasonable and they offer a groupon for their boot camp classes...and they offer one for beginners as well, which is great for anyone starting a fitness program. The restrooms are nice, clean and offer showers and lockers.

You know a studio is great when you're greeted by your first name and the instructors are happy to teach their classes. I love that they have a variety of classes at different times throughout the week. I loved my experience so much I had to tell all of my friends and have even shared a barre class with a good friend! I love the yoga classes offered for different levels. I was hesitant and doubtful about trying an advanced yoga class and spoke to the instructor. She assured me that her class is more advanced than the beginner's class, but that I can keep up at my own pace. Despite that, I thought the class and pace were great and felt a relieved when the instructor said she thought I had nothing to worry about. I attended classes about twice a day/5 times a week and was able to do a handstand against the wall in 4 weeks! The instructors are that awesome! It's the little things like that, that makes a fitness studio unique and stand out amongst others!

Stephanie Fowler Shaklee will gladly share with you her weight struggles in the past and how she has shifted her mentality and approach to fitness as a result! She even has a blog you can follow if interested (iamcoachfowler.com). The gym provides regular bootcamps, 6 days a week, that last about 45 minutes. Their program is designed to use body weight exercises, explosive cardio, and metabolic resistance training to help enhance your fitness. You're guaranteed to leave there with a good arse-kicking! You can sign up for the classes individually or enroll in a monthly membership. Since I don't live in Oklahoma, I just pay the drop-in fee of $10 each time and it's totally worth it! All you need to bring with you is a set of weights (most folks start with 5lbs), your water bottle, and a towel to wipe off if you "glisten" like I do! :) If you're interested in joining a gym where you actually feel like family, this is the one. I promise you'll want to come back after your first visit for the bootcamp and the folks who will make you feel like you're a team on this fitness journey!
