I brought my two-year-old son to Bounce yesterday to get some wiggles out as we were on a road trip to the Lynchburg area. We frequently visit Charlottesville (once a month) and wanted to find a kid-friendly place to relax.  I was intrigued by the website's description of the play place. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Do you know how dirty your place is? Did you know that your "employees" wear hoodies and sit on their phones while at the front desk and have gossip time? Yep! When we arrived at Bounce, we were barely acknowledged by the two young staff members. I had to ask questions about how the park worked and what I needed to do. I was very surprised to find the price of $20 for a child's entry fee. Granted, it was for all day, however, I couldn't imagine spending all day in such a sad excuse for an indoor play place.  Upon first glance, after paying unfortunately, I discovered that the climbing equipment was visibly dirty. I wonder when and if any of this was actually cleaned? Ironically, my two-year-old must have picked up on the fact that I was so uncomfortable because he started to act hesitant to play. In the "2 and under" section, there was visible sand or dirt behind the filthy bounce house.  We ventured over to the Lego and truck area. I was puzzled to find train tracks that had only one train piece. My son even asked where the rest of the train pieces were. After searching under furniture, I decided that there weren't any other pieces. Next, we went to the "2-5" area where my son found car tracks, but no cars to drive on the tracks. The Lego table had bits of food, hair, and other unknown nastiness in the crevices.  The cafe was unattended the whole time we were there.  The bathrooms were atrocious. Trash bins were overflowing and there was no appropriate diaper pail to dispose of dirty diapers. There were also no paper towels in the bathroom and I had to ask the front desk ladies to restock it. The depressing "paint room" had one solid color paint and a water cup.  Upon exiting, I asked the front desk lady for a business card for the manger, not surprisingly, she couldn't find one. read more

This place is very expensive-esp for what it is-way overpriced at $20 per kid with no option to leave and come back-cafe was closed-hand watering station did not work at all-and it was really dirty everywhere, multiple Out of Order signs and no staff monitoring or wiping anything down. The worst part was that we felt like we caught something the following day. read more

I went to get a pass for a birthday present. They have 2 cards, one for 10 visits for 110. The other is good for 1 visit and is 20. It clearly says on there sign when you walk in, M-Thur is 13.50. Fri-Sun 20. If you come Mon-Thur which is 13.50 but use that 20 dollar card, they charge you the full 20. read more

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet! I've been taking my kiddos here for 5 years now. We took a long break during Covid but finally visited again this past month. The staff here is always so kind and accommodating and they are doing a great job of keeping things clean and not crowded. For those wondering: masks currently aren't required. Also, even though we signed up for a 2 hour slot, after they clean they didn't have a problem with our crew staying a little longer (which is good new for those who are paying for multiple kids' entrance fees) Also nice that they weren't strict about it - especially since the next slot wasn't fully booked. My kids love all the inflatables, the painting room, the legos, trucks, and toddler play area. A wonderful outing and great place for a birthday party! read more

My family came here with our daughter with special needs. It was a perfect place for her to have fun during a cold snowy day. The owner was so incredibly kind to us. The facility is clean, also very big and spacious. We will definitely be back again soon! read more

My nephew had a blast playing and running around all over, he made friends really easy and it's great for us adults how they have money operated massage chairs and along with many snacks and drinks the kids will love. THEY SERVE ADULT BEVERAGES! No don't plan on drinking the night away with kids lol but drinks and massage chairs makes it a lot nicer for the adults. Grace made sure that my daughter Faith had an amazing 5th birthday! I cannot recommend this place enough. Everything is always so clean when we go there (including the restroom) and prices are extremely reasonable. I LOVE the new baby area with an adorable bouncy house and decor. My daughter has sensory issues and Grace was so helpful and amazing with her. We went right at opening on a Sunday and it was empty, it did get a tad more people as the day went on but not too crowded for us. We have come multiple times and Grace has been amazing each time. I see us having all of our kids birthday parties here because of the fun they have and the amazing hospitality. Thank you so much for making my 5 year old's birthday so special! This place is extremely reasonably priced for the all day play and party packages. My daughters can stay here and play all day, my husband and I need naps after a few hours from it lol. This place has always been a solid, reliable option to take the kids to in order to get the wiggles out. We've also gone to a number of birthday parties there over the past couple years and they've got a model there that's reliable and works well. The kids always seem to make a friend or two there, and it's *always* hard to pry them away when it's time to leave. I must confess, I'm definitely that Dad who's surreptitiously listening to the football game while the kids run amok through the play structures ... so there's a bit in it for adults as well ;) read more

Love love LOVE this place! (oh, and my kids love it too!) I'm a stay-at-home mom, and i looked forward to coming here as much as my kids (4 years and 2 years). The staff is very friendly, the equipment is probably the best out of all the similar places we've been too. The best part is probably the fact that it has more than just things to bounce-on-- so my more artistic/engineer daughter can alternate between painting, constructing, and bouncing. It is set up for the parents to enjoy as well-- massage chairs, wine/beer/coffee, wifi, and plenty of seating where you can easily see the entire facility-- a HUGE bonus if you have multiple kids. We were in town for an event and thought this would be a fun outing for our toddler, who has a lot of energy. We lasted for 45 cringy minutes. The first thing I noticed is no one asked for our name or whether we had signed the online voucher - they just asked if we had an online reservation. I said "yes" and they handed my kid a wrist band. No explanation of facility or offer of a tour. The second thing I noticed is despite lots of "socks only" signage the majority of adults and kids were in street shoes. So walking around in my socks was not a great feeling. The entire facility felt grimy, dated, and generally unmaintained. There were 5+ staff members milling about and I never saw a staff member interact with a customer. Toward the end of our visit I had to use the restroom. There was vomit on the floor in the bathroom. I would have told someone but - despite 3 staffers behind the desk - no one said a word to us as we gathered our shoes, put them on, and made our exit. read more

This place used to be fun but has not updated or added anything new to the establishment in over 2 years. My son and I can used to frequently come about 2-3 times a month but have not been back in a while. The same old toys with missing pieces and most of the parts missing. Legos with broken pieces, drawing table with markers that do not work. Painting room is usually closed early due to teenage employees wanting to leave early. Same Old bounce houses that are now falling apart. Advice to management- please update your business or you will loose clientele. Especially for the prices being charged. read more

We take a weekend trip just to come to this place due to limited toddler play gyms in our city, we enjoy this place but would hope to see some small changes to make us want to keep coming back. The employees on each occasion seem to be in deep conversations to where when we are standing at the counter they don't notice us and when they finally do we have to wait for the conversation to end before getting any help, also met with sour faces probably 75% of our visits. We will come back but would love to see things in the toddler area moved around to make it seem fresh, it's the same thing over and over and our toddler is getting kind of bored. Our last visit another toddler pushed ours off of the jungle gym steps and my son hit his head pretty hard on the hard floor, it would be nice to have some kind of soft padding around the slide/stair jungle gym to help the babies 3 and under from getting hurt if they do accidentally take a tumble, something we see at all of the other toddler place gyms we've been to. Would I still recommend? Absolutely, it's a great place that did a lot of things right like sectioning off the toddler area from the big kids area and the Lego area kind of like a divided classrooms. Spacious bathrooms so the kids can get prepared for play or cleaned up with parents, you can smell that they clean this business like they say they do in their website which is reassuring. read more

This place is just OK for several reasons: There are a few different play areas that mainly cater to toddler age kids. My 3 year old loved it but is still scared of the bounce things. For older kids who do enjoy the bounce things, there are only 3.. So for kids who are a little older, they may get bored with only 3 bounce things, but may be a little too old for the other play areas. It's also very expensive.. $12 a kid! That's crazy to me, especially since the main attraction, the bounce area is so small. Add to that craziness that although you get a wrist band upon entry, there is no reentry! For paying that much and not being allowed to bring food in, it's just not worth the price. read more

If I could give this a establishment a zero star review I would. We've always loved Bounce N Play, and even after the opening of the new trampoline place in Cville we continued to come. Part of the fun was the gift shop, but all my positivity ended today. The gift shop has lots of beautiful items, and when I saw one such item marked 50% off I was thrilled. The scarf was lovely and I decided to buy one for my mom and my sister too. I put them at the register til we were ready to go, but when I went to check out I was told no. "No, these are full price. They were mismarked," said the sales associate. So, they wouldn't honor the price that the same individual confirmed with me when I was just browsing. At that time it was, "Yes, 50% off. We've had those a while." So, will I return to Bounce N Play? Probably not. I'll head over to the trampoline place for sure. read more

i rented an hour and a half birthday party for my daughter, the manager steve was very helpful, upon arrival the party before us was late leaving, no problem i understand. they did their best cleaning and even supplied water, lemonade, cups and utensils! the only complaints i have is the staff started mopping the whole area 30 minutes before it was time to leave, our socks were all wet! and since the party before us was late leaving i would have expected they'd give us extra time but instead they were rushing us out!! i also didn't know there was a no refund policy, due to covid there weren't many people that came and wanted to cancel but i understand... i would not rent here again for a party it was just a mess and a waste of 300$. read more

Good place to take kids to blow off some energy. I do think that charging $10 for over 25 months is a bit much. I think the $6 charge for 24 months and under should be extended to 4 years of age. Children under 4 can not really use the "big playroom without help from a parent". The toddler area is limited and at times crowded. The entire place had a strange odor from the fish pond. This bounce house is more than just a place to bring your kids to bounce. They have a 0-3 yr old area where this age group seemed content when needing a break from bouncing. They also has a hands on area with construction vehicles and stones, mega blocks, window painting (which is washed down several times a day). We went at 9:30am when it opened, left for lunch, and came back in the afternoon for a few hours. My son went home very tired but it was his choice to stay so long. Best experience in a long time. I took my 3 year old niece on a Saturday and it was extremely overwhelming. We walk in and wait in line for 10 minutes, when we get up to the counter the lady asks us if we signed the waiver at the computers. We didn't know we had to do that so got out of line, completed the form, and had to wait in line again. When we entered the area it was chaos. There were kids running up the slides, doing flips over other kids, knocking smaller children over and there was NO staff around to enforce the rules. Did my niece have fun? Yes, she had a blast. I thought $10 a kid was expensive, particularly since I have three and that more than tops our daily Fun Budget. Hear me Fellow Parents: it is worth it. If, however, you are Catholic or from California (like me), you will need to take a deep breath and let go of your ingrained guilt. I spent four hours on my phone, kindle and computer today while my three girls happily romped around with a great range of ages. At one point I turned to my neighbor and said "I'm not sure I have seen my children in an hour." I did repeatedly imagine all the things that I should have worried about and realized that the kids were just fine. The space is enclosed, they check to make sure that kids are leaving with the same adult they came in with, its very compact and the only threat is from slide burns that seem to afflict everyone. The best part of course, is that they leave lots of room for parents to sit in comfy chairs so your kids can find you to address said burn, complain about a new playmate or ask to feed the giant Koi fish in the pond. The chairs are conveniently set up right at the entrance to the play space, so you can be reassured that you are in control of the whole situation. As if this were not enough, just as your kids act a bit bored, they have an Art area. Drained little monkeys can flit in or out of the area to paint on the walls or do "free" art projects. I looked around at all the other parents who were happily engrossed in their own lazy and selfish endeavors, which helped me to realize that I don't live in CA anymore and I can enjoy these simple pleasures! Skip the train ride though. My daughter asked, and I reflected aloud that I could not imagine anything more ridiculous than paying extra to drive around the parking lot in a miniature metal train. read more

As a nanny for a rambunctious toddler, this place is a godsend on rainy days. There is a serious shortage of indoor playspace in this town and we really start to feel the hurt this time of year. Despite my deep and abiding gratitude for the existence of Bounce n Play, there are some serious flaws. The customer service is pathetic. Every time I've visited, I have waited at least several minutes at the front counter despite being the only customer in view. More than once, I've been ignored for up to five minutes (with an over-eager, impatient two year old hollering BOUNCE! BOUNCE! at deafening volume) while two employees finished a conversation. Leaving is a similar exercise in patience, but less maddening because the toddler has collapsed in a heap of exhaustion. As others have mentioned, the price is a little steep. Because my guy is under 2, it's only $6, but that doesn't stop them from attempting to charge me $10 every single visit. Despite having pulled up his record, which clearly displays his name and birthdate on the screen, they play dumb about his age until I remind them. The toddler area is an accident waiting to happen. The "playground" equipment in that space is obviously not climbable by anyone you could conceivably describe as a toddler, with the rise between steps being over two feet. There are almost always a fair number of much older children tearing around the toddler area, knocking down those children who belong in there. Another reviewer mentioned the intense plastic-y smell. I would like to add to that THE VOLUME. Each inflatable bounce structure is hooked up to industrial fans. The space is deafeningly loud. While the bouncy structures are relatively safe, not being able to see or hear your child can be nerve-wracking. Although far from perfect, Bounce N Play fulfills a need that would otherwise go unmet. I save it for only the rainiest of days when my young charge would otherwise start hurling himself off of the furniture for lack of a physical outlet. read more

This place is awful...but my grandchildren do seem to love going. Very experience! The wait to be able to get in is terrible every time we have gone...I have waited as long as 15 minutes to be able to enter on a Saturday afternoon when there are a number of birthday parties. The staff is very rude...all I can assume is that management is so bad that the people working there are miserable. Absolutely no one that is working there seems glad to be there. My advise is take the drive to Richmond or Lynchburg...you will save money in the long run and have a much more pleasurable experience with many more fun options to choose from. read more

After spending 2 hours in this place, I can say without a doubt that I hate it and will never go there again. My husband took my 3 year old there months ago when parents were still allowed on the equipment with the kids and she loved it. Now she won't go near any of the bounce equipment because she is afraid to go by herself. Any attempt she did make to use the bounce equipment ended in tears because the bigger, unsupervised kids were jumping all over everyone and everything. There are no staff in the bounce room (or anywhere except behind the desk) and don't expect any of the parents to pay any attention to their children. God forbid these parents teach their children some manners or make sure they aren't doing anything wrong. They might miss an email or text on their iPhone (gasp!). The under 3 room was full of big kids destroying everything and, again, hurting the little kids. There are NO bounce houses in the under 3 room and the door to the under 3 section was a huge safety hazard. It slams closed and I saw at least 1 kid slam his hand in the door. The entire place was filthy and sweaty. I felt like I needed to hose everyone down after being in the building. Unless you have children who are really older and can hold their own among the other delinquents, don't waste your time or money! read more

The staff fully ignores the children. There were extremely unsafe choices being made and not one time did the staff do anything to monitor or enforce the "rules" of the establishment. It is hard as parents to watch children endangering themselves and other much smaller children but not be able to do anything about it- the staff needs to at least walk into the room occasionally to allow this place to meet what I consider to be minimal safety rankings. read more

The facility is clean, the bouncing equipment is clean. The restrooms are clean. The food is good although a bit pricey - but you do not come here to eat - you come to have fun. The slides and climbing tunnels are lots of fun for kids, the fish are fun to watch and the painting room is also a fun area for kids when they need a break from the bouncing and sliding! I have recommended this place to several families and brought our visitors here, happy to have access to a fun, safe place for kids! Only complaint is that parents do not adequately watch their own children -, parents are usually absorbed in texting or computers and older kids can get too rambunctious or "take over" and staff do not intervene - so go and let your child enjoy the fun of bouncing but keep a close eye when there are older children there. read more

Took our granddaughter here 2 weeks ago for the first and only time. She ended up getting a bacterial infection all over her face and neck resulting in an emergency care visit and antibiotics. I am reporting them to the Charlottesville Board of Health. read more

My 11 month old shouldn't have to compete for play area with 6 year olds hanging out in the toddler section! I also shouldn't have to worry about my child picking up food that the 6 year olds dropped all over the toddler section floor. So much for the "under 3 only" and "no outside food" rules. Really wish the area was monitored by the staff every once in a while. It was not very crowded so there isn't any excuse. I do like their 12 month/under being free of charge and we generally like the place, but it would not have been worth it to pay anyway. Most of the toys that use batteries were dead and the toy kitchens were dirty. The negligent other patrons and the unaware staff combined with everything else did not make this a good experience. read more

This place is horrible and very unsafe. The management/owner is super rude and has zero customer service skills.nhorrible food. FirstntimenI went there one of the air blowers caughtnon fire and smoke filled the play area. We were onlynthere for 5 minutes and I asked.for a refund ,anagement said no but it was hazardous breathing the smoke. I don't have any complaints about the Bounce n play in Charlottesville, Va. My complaint is about some parents who are very rude and unpolite...I took my 2 daughthers today sunday to have some fun, they were enjoying by the way one is 2 years old and the other one is almost 5...they love to play in the area were until 3 year old can go...I took my little ones in that area because the place was empty we were the only ones there...they were extra happy playing,when suddenly this lady showed up with with a 2 year old and 2 little boys plus the husband and strated talking bad about my girls , that the worst thing I was listening all her nasty comments, I really wanted to put her on her place but I have a lot of respect for my kids and all the kids and parents, I don't have any bad thing to say about the Bounce N play...but some ignorant people and low class that go there disappoint me ... read more

The people who are complaining are ridiculous, I was shocked to read these reviews, I was just looking up what time they are open on sunday. But after reading them I feel compelled to leave one. I have a 2 year old who bounces in the bounce part, not the toddler part with unbridled glee, it is NOT too big for a toddler, you just have to get off your butt and supervise your child. There are several big bounce slides appropriate for toddlers. The toddler space is also fine for toddlers, yes older kids play in it, maybe it is time to tell your toddler about older children, and that they don't bite. I have had to take children to their parents because they fail to supervise them and demand they do so, but that is not the faulty of the people who work here. People get engrossed on their tablets and take advantage of the space. Is it a cure all meditative space that is devoid of plastic and noise? Of course not, but your kids will have a great time and expend a ton of energy. I find the complaints down right absurd... it smells like plastic... are you nuts? It's a busy bounce and play the weekdays are far less busy, the young people who work there have NEVER, not once been rude to me in the past two years, so I think the people who think they are rude must have dished a heavy dose of rude their way first. It's a great place for kids, their are toys for sale, instead of freaking out that you have to say no, teach your children they can earn one. It isn't the place at fault it's your parenting. The price is pretty steep, we lived in Cville for almost 9 months before I finally felt I should just bite the bullet and "treat" the kids to a fun day. I went with my 3 toddlers (3 year old twins and a 2 year old). Of course we headed to the toddler area, and contrary to what you would think, the toddler area had nothing for them to bounce on, but was more of a play area. With a big climbing structure and tons of toys. The area was a complete disaster. There was junk EVERYWHERE. All of the "toys" were just scattered about and the BNP employees were too busy talking at the register to be bothered to pick it up. So the result was that the little toddlers were falling over everything! It was actually a hazard. The climbing structure was really deluxe and huge, however it was kind of a fail because the stairs/climbing area was WAY too big for kids 3 and under, and it was IN the 3 and under area!!! As an after-thought, BNP put step stools on each stair of the climbing area, which is also a hazard! They kept getting moved or taken out. I had to spend 10 minutes teaching my little tykes how to climb to the top, even though I was told parents were "not allowed on the equipment." I was just trying to catch my poor toddlers who kept getting stuck or falling off their equipment that was too big for them! Another disappointment is that we were hoping to ride the train, which costs $1 per child, but it wasn't running on this day for some reason. I asked if we could come back and ride just the train but they said it would cost $3 per child if we weren't buying wristbands for BNP. All in all, my kids did enjoy it, despite the mess and the cost and the frustration of the too big climbing steps, but we won't be back, at least not until my kids are taller! read more

I have never been to a place quite like this. Between the bright green carpet and awful plasticy off-gassing of the inflatables, it's a headache waiting to happen. They charge $10 per child just to get in with no discounts for multiple children. Plus you can't leave and come back. Their food is disgusting - Mainly frozen, unhealthy, prepackaged crap and they don't let you bring anything in. There is a three and under room but there were much older kids there throwing balls. There is also a climbing structure similar to one that you could use for free in a fast food joint (which based on the food quality, this may as well be one). My 2 year old was too young for the bouncing room and apparently too young for the toddler room. Similarly, my 6 year old seemed to be too old for the whole place. Parents seem to ignore their children and staff cant be bothered with policing because they are too busy collecting money or enforcing other rules that kids seem to rule the roost ignoring many of the 50 rules that one needs to follow while there. Lastly, there are enticing items for sale so even though we just spent $30 for our kids to jump, I had to repeatedly say no as they asked for toys as we passed the store (yes, store!) on the way out, a display while the kids put their shoes away, trinkets at the front counter and even stuffed animals in the art room. Things for sale everywhere. They even advertised a car wash, drop off services and charge to feed the fish! They try to squeeze every nickel out of people. We left after an hour. The employees there are so rude. I sent an email to management and have waited a week for a response to my bad experience, since they won't even respond to my email I feel compelled to write this 1 star review. I went in with my toddler a week ago and she wanted to play in the art area. I saw the guy cleaning in the area but she was interested in the rocks and trucks, not painting. The guy told us we weren't allowed in that area, that it was closed, at 5:30 pm; the place closes at 6. His coworker agreed with him when we pressed him about it (he was behind the counter and could clearly see the look on his friends face), we left the area, however my friend that was with me went and talked to the manager who said he was wrong and that she would talk to him. Employees lying to your customers is insane to me. The fact that it is allowed is crazy. Management didn't even respond with an apology for the bad experience. Also, the same jerk wouldn't honor the coupon to get bogo on the entry even though it was valid through 2016 and the same 2017 coupon book was being sold on the counter. We told him we wanted to talk to the manager and he said no he'd already had that convo before and was sure of it. I don't anticipate ever going back there. Good luck with your business. read more

I WAS a fan of Bounce-N-Play, as I've held several parties there for my children. Recently though, my son celebrated his 12th bday at the "NEW" laser tag of Bounce-N-Play and w/o looking at the location, ASSUMING it would be similar to the experience of "bounce-n-play", I was VERY disappointed! Basically, it's the MOST expensive party that they have and the LEAST "invested" in. They took the old staples building and literally set up crates. . No special lights, and even the windows aren't tinted, so too much light gets in. The place looks like a warehouse. I've been to several laser tag's with my boys, and by far this was the WORST one yet! I could have done what they did in my basement! THE only thing good about the whole experience was our party host. . Our pizza was late though, the party time ran over b/c of that, parents were waiting around to pick up their kids. . etc. . the list goes on! Do NOT book this party with Bounce-N-Play! read more

I had my child's b- day party there and it was not worth the money they charged. Our so- called party host was non-existent for most of the time, I requested food items for the party that were not given to the kids. When it came time for the nerf event, the "host" informed me the smoke machine was not working - one of the reasons we were having this type of party anyway. They had plenty of time to make sure this was fixed since I booked well in advance. I gave them a star because my child (and the other kids) had fun but my child is easy to please and too young to know we were ripped off. I received a call a few days later that they forgot to give us some of the presents! So... people spent money to get my kid a gift and it wasn't given to us... Bad. There are many other options for parties and I just would not recommend this place based on my experience with them. It is a decent place for active indoor fun for a rainy or cold day (if you are willing to cough up lots of money) but I won't do a party there again. read more
