Happiest day of their life is forever tarnished by Bound and Branch. Nothing but excuses and lies. Run!! Then they have the audacity to say that people leaving bad reviews is defamation of character... which is false because everything being said is true. Hiring Bound and Branch to photograph our wedding was one of the biggest regrets of our planning process. We chose their 8-hour package specifically because it included two photographers--an important detail for us, as we had a large wedding party and a sprawling venue. We wanted to ensure that all the key moments would be captured from multiple perspectives. We reached out several times before the wedding--both through their portal and via text--to try and get the names of our assigned photographers (we had a friendship bracelet seating chart and wanted to represent them!), but we never received a response. We also shared a Pinterest board to help convey the vibe we were going for--candids, black-and-white shots, editorial portraits, etc. Unfortunately, this was completely disregarded. Then came the wedding day: just as photography coverage was supposed to begin, we were informed that only one photographer would be coming. The second had apparently tested positive for COVID. We asked for proof due to a COVID clause in the contract, and the entire situation quickly soured. After the wedding, we requested a 25% refund--just for the fact that half the expected photo team didn't show up. Their response was extremely unprofessional and defensive. They explained that they don't charge for a second photographer and that their pricing is based on just one. This felt misleading--nowhere in the initial booking process was that clear, and it certainly wasn't communicated that the second photographer was essentially a "bonus" and not part of the paid service. Worse, the owner made comments like: "If you're holding me to contract standards, then I'll only deliver 350-450 photos, and any extras will cost $8 each." I was stunned. After such a disappointing experience, this felt like a threat disguised as customer service. I told them to keep the money, clearly they needed it more than I did. When we finally received the gallery, the disappointment deepened. The photos lacked the vibe we hoped for--no black and whites, very few candids, nothing artistic or emotionally evocative. We didn't even get one usable photo of our entire wedding party. Family photos were poorly composed, some with eyes closed, and important shot list items were missed completely--because, as we later learned, the photographer who showed up had never been given the list. Communication between the owners and their photographer was clearly non-existent. This was the biggest day of my life--one of the very few times I'll ever need a professional photographer to truly capture the moment. And yet, I didn't even have a single photo that felt special enough to use on our thank-you cards. That's something you can't get back, and the lack of accountability from the company made it worse. To top it off, when my best friend left a negative review based on everything we'd been through, the owner texted me privately--offering $400 to have the review taken down. That amount, ironically, is what we were told a second photographer costs them... so why wasn't this offered upfront as a refund when we asked in good faith? This experience was a painful letdown, and I would not recommend Bound and Branch to anyone looking for professionalism, communication, or any sense of accountability on one of the most important days of their life. read more

I always try not to rate any business lower than 3 stars. I try to find every positive feature about the business before leaving a review. Finding the right photography business for an important event in our life is not a very easy task. Communication with Justin wasn't very smooth. I couldn't get certain answers to my questions which created a lot of frustration. Please be aware that you CAN NOT guarantee which photographer is coming to cover your event. This business works on collecting as much as possible of events then distributing the jobs amongst whoever photographer is available. Therefore, you cannot guarantee the quality of the job. Make sure you read the contract very well and that you're ok with everything is says, especially the hidden fees. Make sure that you're ok with letting the business posting your photos online and use them for Ads. read more

We had an incredibly disappointing experience with Bound and Branch at my best friend's wedding in September. She paid for their highest-tier package, which included two photographers and that's not what we got.. at all Despite reaching out in the weeks leading up to the wedding to get the photographers' names (so they could be included in personalized gifts), the company never responded. Then, 45 minutes before both photographers were supposed to arrive the morning of the wedding, the owner texted the bride to say that only one would be coming. For a 200-person wedding! The owner was shockingly rude on the phone, said the second photographer had COVID, and that he was out of town for a funeral. I understand emergencies happen, but the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional. He claimed that because there was a COVID clause in the contract, they weren't responsible. We asked for proof of the COVID test MULTIPLE times and was ignored The photos from the wedding were not good at all. Thankfully there was a photo booth since those turned out better than what we received from Bound and Branch.The lighting, editing, and overall quality were really bad. There are barely any photos of the guests or anything happening at the wedding and the ones that we did get back are not good.. she didnt even send any out to people becasue they're so bad. After spending so much time and money on such a beautiful day, not having a single professional photo you love is heartbreaking. She politely asked for a small refund (15-25%), and the owner responded by threatening to remove photos from the gallery. Completely unprofessional. The one photographer who showed up was kind, but there was no way she could cover the full event alone and it shows in what we received. I can confidently say this was the worst photography experience I've had Do not hire this company. They were unreliable, unresponsive, and disrespectful, and the final product did not reflect the quality or professionalism you'd expect from a premium wedding package. read more

The owners lack both professionalism and basic communication skills. My close friends have been waiting for their wedding photo edits for the last 7 months. However, this was just the tip of the iceberg. As a gay couple, my friends were excited to support an LGBTQIA business. They were equally as excited to have a photographer that had experience posing 2 women in their wedding photos. My friends met with the owners and were given the impression that one of them would be their photographer, only to be told the day prior to their wedding that they were sending in an assistant. The assistant was clearly inexperienced and lacked any ability to give direction. He was clearly uncomfortable with posing my friends together, posing my friend wearing the wedding dress in stereotypical feminine poses and my other friend wearing pants in stereotypical male poses. My friends voiced their concerns, expressing that they did not like these poses, but nothing was done to correct this. My friends have 2 beautiful daughters but only got 1 posed photo of the 4 of them together. There are no photos of both of their families together. Beyond that, there were specific shots my friends requested that were not honored. When my friends wrote a review detailing their experience, the response they got was that they would have time to work on those edits but now have to worry about the bad reviews. Their review was taken down shortly afterwards. I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets taken down. Buyer beware!!!! I'm saddened to have to resort to making a poor review. Our wedding was 8/3/24. We paid for 2 photographers, with a gallery return time of 4-6 weeks per our contract. They not only missed the mark on return time (took 10 weeks for photos), but the photos received weren't including the paid for second photographer photos. Communication has been poor, I've reached out numerous times to no avail. The photos from the second photographer were "corrupted" and "sent to a specialist to recreate" over two months ago, however there has been zero communication since. At this point, I feel scammed. I was scammed. I paid thousands of dollars on photos I do not have, and doubt I will ever see. We solely purchased the option to include a second photographer to include photos of the groomsmen, my now husband, and our son getting ready at a separate location. I have zero photos of this, and to know I have no pictures of our son getting ready for our wedding day is what's prompted me to write this review. To have pictures of his twin sister on our special day, and not him, is devastating to say the least. If you've read this far, take my very expensive lesson learned and do not book with this company. They do not hold up to their contract, will take your money and neglect their obligations to produce. I wish I could give 0 stars. Buyer beware. I scheduled with this business to do a fall shoot-unfortunately they were unable to accommodate my schedule to capture our fall foliage which happens....but then on the day of our scheduled session it was pouring.....which I knew would happen because I looked at the forecast which is why I asked for the week before. Anyway, we texted and mutually agreed it wasn't a good day to do the family pics. They couldn't reschedule us for another two weeks which completely defeated the purpose of doing a fall family shoot because by then all the foliage was gone. That was bad enough...but then the night before our shoot at 9pm these dolts email me and tell me that THEY misquoted me for the package I wanted and I needed to pay an additional 250. Keep in mind I had already paid for the shoot in full. I told them no and the session was canceled and they refused to refund any of my money. These guys are crooked as the day is long. Unprofessional, rude and only care about money, not quality work. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. Also, if you do decide to work with them, read the fine print. They own all of the pics they take of you, even if it includes a minor child and once you sign on the dotted line, they will use the pics any where and any way they like, even if you don't give consent for them to use pictures of your child. These people are wildly unprofessional. We never asked for a couple session-I asked for a family session from the start-all that is stated below is not the truth and I have the receipts to back up everything in my review. Justin and Cedric photographed both our engagement photos and wedding day photos and did an awesome job with both! We were originally getting married it 2021 but with COVID restrictions we decided to postpone until 2022 and luckily they were able to accommodate our new date. We greatly appreciated their flexibility! They arrived right on time the day of the wedding and captured all of the great moments that I had requested. I received so may complements from guests on how awesome both of them were! They were on top of everything the whole night and and got so many great shots. Highly recommend them! read more

After waiting a full year for our wedding video and begging them to send us something for our first anniversary, they sent us a "draft video" made up of three bad clips strung together with music in the background. It could've been taken on any cell phone. You can't even see who is talking during the speeches. I've cut the sound so it can't be taken as copyright infringement. There's nothing of the venue. None of our family and friends. No dances, entrances, decor. If this is the rough draft after a full year, it's clear they've done nothing. Not only have they been rude, unprofessional, and untimely but they take little responsibility. It's the contract videographer's fault for being late. It's our fault for asking for literally any version of a wedding video to watch on our one-year anniversary. We were told a six-month turnaround for the wedding video. Six months passed in May. We were told our video was "next" in June. They asked for songs in August. In October, they completely stopped answering us. They said some personal issues came up but didn't communicate anything at all to us. We had to schedule a consultation under another name just to get someone to respond to us about where our wedding video was. Eventually, they sent us the raw footage. 400GB of raw footage. Too much to even download on our computers. Clicking around, it's mostly junk takes. Zero organization. We've been patient. We've been understanding. But it's been over a year and this is too much. We asked for a refund, so we could pay a videographer to put something together and were told it's "not even an option," that our money back "wouldn't make us happy." And they're right. This whole situation has put a cloud over our anniversary and our lives for the past month that we can't get back. I do not want to be posting this at all but I hope no couple has to deal with this in the future. All we wanted was our wedding video by our first anniversary and all we got was disappointment and a massive headache. read more
