It was decided as a result of the construction of those underwater and underground powerlines that apartment should be built here so everyone can enjoy this amazing view. This place is really popular all throughout the year. You can come here in the summertime to enjoy spectacular sunsets more in the winter time to enjoy that ferocity of the northwesterly wins with the latest storm. For those who are feeling a little more daring you can tackle the 326 step staircase that leads all the way down to the beach. And if you're feeling really up to it you can walk along the beach all the way to the ferry terminal. That will give your legs a good work out after eating a burger on the ferry ride. My only criticism of this location is that it is really small. But even in recent years the municipality of Delta has added more bike racks and new picnic tables.

We didn't loop into the Canyon due to the light drizzle and muddy conditions. We got to the drinking station and water tower before heading back. Another reason to cut short the walk was the lack of washroom facilities in the park. The trails were popular and we saw many people here with their dogs or mountain biking. Parking is along the road, with several different entrances into the park.

In the summer, you can rent kayaks off the dock. There are plenty of picnic tables and public washrooms closer to the front of the park. However, if you drive a little further in, there is a huge field with more picnic tables and an area with a large gazebo and more tables. There are outhouses in this location too. Throughout the perimeter of the park, there are easy, flat trails covered and lines with beautiful trees. You can find dogs on leash and horses on these trails. One of best parts if that this park isn't heavily frequented so it's not overly crowded and you can enjoy the sights and feels of nature at your leisure. Came here recently for a snowy engagement shoot and it was magical! A little wonderland in a place you wouldn't expect.

They will let their aggressive dogs charge up to you and get upset if you defend yourself. Definitely not an area to just birdwatch and/or enjoy nature. I have found there is not even 1 park in the whole Lower Mainland where I don't encounter off-leash dogs. I have been jumped on, attacked and intimidated by off-leash dogs.

Clean, scenic, peaceful with easy parking and great for all ages, we not only played on the zip lines and rope courses but also walked along the raised boardwalk along the ponds and checked out the community garden. We saw bat boxes and while we didn't wander the entire area, didn't spot bee hives or farm animals which I think would be awesome additions, particularly closer to the play environment so kids can learn even more about nature and animals. Inspiring, wished we had something similar back home!

Garry Point may not be the most picturesque park around (unless the cherry blossom trees are in…read morebloom), but it does have plenty of other charms to offer: waterfront access, a limited number of small, sandy beaches, a monument to fallen fishermen, a small Japanese garden, public restrooms, a surprisingly decent snack shop, and plenty of walking paths and trails. Not to mention proximity to the Steveston wharf and downtown area, with its multitude restaurants, shops and facilities. Still, there's plenty of green space for picnics, field games, sunbathing, watching the ships sail by, and other park-related activities. Residents of Steveston are lucky to have this effectively right in their own communal backyard.
