Luckily we brought water! Don't forget to bring water , bug spray, and sunscreen if you come when it is sunny! Amico Island State Park is a beautiful, stunning isolated park. Since it is isolated, there is a lot of different wildlife that can be seen all over the island. My boyfriend and I saw butterflies, ducks, mushrooms, reeds, grasses, and more. There were also birds that could be heard in the trees. There was not as many birds as expected though that might have been due to the heat. We also didn't see any deer but probably for the same reason. There were many bugs, so be prepared for that if you do come. There is one main trail which is very easy to follow as well as side trails. About halfway through the trial, there is a viewpoint which is great for photos and enjoying the scenery. This park is great for hikers, birders, nature photographers and much more! I would totally recommend!

I noticed a few benches and tables along the path if you want to stop and picnic. Overall, it was such a peaceful and serene setting, especially by the water, and the many sweet smelling honeysuckle paths. The park is basically a 2mi loop which took me about 35 mins to complete from beginning to end, with a couple stops for pics, and to take it all in. I only noticed one other person when I started, but as I was leaving, quite a few groups were arriving. So if you want to avoid crowds maybe early is best, or an afternoon start for those who want a lot of company.

We walked about a mile loop around the trail, thought it is about 3 miles total. There is so much wildlife around! The park is so well-maintained and clean. It is such a pleasure to walk around! The main trails are either pavement or gravel so it is very easy to get around. This park is an easy hike or good place for a jog. We also saw many people walking their dogs or enjoying the scenery. There is a huge parking lot, bathrooms, water fountains, and trash cans scattered throughout the park. I also saw a pavilion or two. The park is right next to the Delaware River, so there are many places to get great photos as well! On the trail, there were many maple trees, many types of grasses, many birds including gray catbirds, and some mushrooms. This is a great park for birdwatching or nature photography due to the amount of biodiversity. If you have a chance, you should totally check out this park!

Plenty of paved, unpaved, gravel and dirt trails that offer easy hikes throughout the park. Pavilions, picnic areas, playground equipment, a volley ball pit and pool all scattered about the 300+ acres of parkland. It does get crowded on the weekends in summer but weekdays you can catch a nice walk in with relatively minimal human interaction. NSP is well maintained and has plenty of facilities. Perfect for a quiet weekday walk or a day at the park with the family. For me, it reminds me of a younger time when my work ethic was formed and my love of nature began.

There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

The guides were patient and helpful with the small group in getting gear on and going over all the safety equipment. They were never impatient with anyone and insanely kind. You could tell the guides truly enjoyed bringing everyone out to this amazing trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG it was worth the money spent to have these guys/gals guide me through the trails. I took tons of pictures and was never rushed at all while taking in the views and photos. This company comes highly recommended amongst the hiking community even out of state.

Honestly, I don't know why this place got such few stars? The four stars that I've assigned as well…read moredeserved. I visited on a weekday and perhaps that made all the difference in the world. My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river.

It is important to stay on certain sides to avoid bigger rocks and your team has to work together. there are simple showers but you need to supply your own towel, soap and shampoo. He is very knowledgeable about the area where we went (Delaware water gap) and knew the hiking trail well too. I like how the size of the group wasn't too big so it was easier to get to know more people. Everyone was really excited to get some nice fresh air and exercise and of course visit a brewery! The hike was a moderate trail with some bigger hills up and down and a lot of rocks to watch your footing on. After the hike we were all hungry and ready for some beer. We stopped at Jersey Girl brewing where we all had flights and got a little tour of the place where all the action happens! The only criticism I have is with the lunch. It was very simple: chips, pickles, and homemade sandwiches with meat and cheese. There were a few vegetarian options but it was very heavy on the bread overall. I would love to see some kind of healthier alternative like a quinoa or lentil dish, which I would be happy to help with!

Dave was very easy to find since he sent us an email letting us know exactly where he'll be. From there, he drove the whole group in a van with awesome coffee for everyone. Once we arrived, we all got sandwiches Dave packed for us all and was off to seriously such a great hike. Dave made sure nobody from the group was left behind. Once the whole hike was done, we drove over to the brewery and Dave got pizza for everyone. Such a great time and arrived back at the time we expected Definitely would recommend and can't wait to go on another adventure!!
