Our family has enjoyed tubing on the delaware every summer for years. It's a great way to spend an afternoon in nature

Honestly, I don't know why this place got such few stars? The four stars that I've assigned as well deserved. I visited on a weekday and perhaps that made all the difference in the world. My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river. read more

We arrived at the store at 10 AM on a Thursday...upon entering about 6-8 employees looked at me but nobody said hello or asked if they could help get us checked in and start the process. By the time we went through that process (and we already had our wavers filled out) it was 10:50. Quick bus ride to the launch site...our group of 16 we strapped together in 3 groups of tubes. The river is INCREDIBLY slow moving, slower than the lazy river at most amusement parks. It was a beautiful sunny day and we all enjoy the drifting. The current is deceptively strong, and you must pay attention to get to the "Hot Dog Man" which again was serviceable but not impressive. The rapids were more like ripples, but that's to be expected on the Delaware. At the exit point, there was 1 employee in the water, and when we made the 75 yard climb/walk to the bus pick up point we found piles of tubes/life vests and nobody with any clue as to the process, the time to wait for a pickup bus or anything. The bus arrived, mad that we each didn't have our individual gear with us, and then was so filled with people, it was standing room only on the ride back to the store. The "changing rooms" were two old buses parked behind/near the port-a-johns...I didn't see a single person willing to enter them. As for the bathrooms....every person in our group commented on how disgusting they smelled. Overall the tubes/river were fine...the lack of communication/instruction/friendliness of the employees during the tube/life-vest picking process and the poor facilities were disappointing. read more

I had a wonderful day relaxing with friends tubing down the Delaware. Only about 45 minutes from NE Philly. We ordered our tickets in advance, however it looks pretty empty during the week. There is a parking lot with port-o-potties and buses if you want/need to get changed. They open at 10 am. Its definitely faster to order online and have all of your waivers filled out. They do a free key check but there are no lockers for clothes or towels. They do sell sun tan lotion, water shoes, and other various items if you forgot something. I did not read the fine print, where they tell you to wear closed toe shoes. I wore flip flops and it made it more of a challenge ( not impossible ) to get in and out of the water. I liked this company because with your 4 hour ticket, lunch is included. Two hot dogs, or a burger with a drink and a snack. You can upgrade for a grilled chicken sandwich or veggie burger for $2.00 more. I opted for the upgraded grilled chicken sandwich which was delicious, some of our party got the hot dogs and said they were just ok, same with the burger. They also give you ropes to tie yourself together with your party, where other places charge you for this. It was a great day to be in a tune and I highly recommend this place. Would highly recommended going somewhere else if you want to go kayaking, tubing, or rafting down the Delaware River. 1). Absolute chaos when we got there. No social distancing whatsoever. 2). You have to drag your kayak, raft, tube into and out of the water. Getting in no problem. Getting out HUGE PROBLEM. The water is 4' deep and you have to climb up stairs that are narrow and steep. After kayaking for 2.5 hours my arms were a bit sore and the young, kids that work there offered no help when I asked for it. I then had to drag the kayak about 100 ft uphill to the bus. Again with no help from anyone. Kayaks weigh 45lbs and with my bag, water in the bottom, and oar it was probably closer to 55lbs. 3). THERE IS NO BBQ MEAL THAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR PRICE! You are told In the confirmation email a meal will be provided and it wasn't. Also, no one even mentioned we would not be getting a meal. We only found out after someone on the bus asked. TOTAL AND COMPLETE RIP OFF. 100% disappointed with this place and their lack of customer service. THE BUSES ARE DISGUSTING. WORSE THAN THE SUBWAYS IN NYC! read more

If I could give a negative star rating for our experience yesterday I would. We purchased tickets online at a whopping $204.04 for three people. Yes, you are correct, that equals $68.01 per person. On the website you are directed to buy tickets online as a way to streamline the check in process, "skip the lines," and get to the fun part! Now, our group never actually got to enjoy ourselves because when we arrived the place was mobbed with people waiting in the dusty parking lot in the direct sun because the company had overbooked. People were in line for over two hours waiting to go tubing! Everyone had purchased tickets in advance, this place knew we were all expecting to tube. There were people and families that had driven considerable distances-- we had driven an hour to arrive to this mess. From my observations, the company is run by a bunch of kids and I feel it is fair to say that they just don't value anyone's business to exhibit such a lack of planning and concern for safety. No one had masks on in line, the employees had a mask on their faces, but often had their nose or mouth exposed, inside the key drop off area people were crowded against the counter and there was no social distancing in place. We didn't stick around, nor will our group return to this place. If we want to go tubing down the Delaware we will research what drop off and pick up points are the best and use our own resources. You can do a lot of your own tubing for 70$ per person! read more

This place is super overpriced, not managed well, disorganized, overcrowded and not very social distanced. I would have gone to the place in the Philadelphia side. Because of their name, they have better search results and show up at the top of the search that is the only reason I fell for this. The river is beautiful so that was the only good part but that is mother nature's work not this place. 1. They make you buy a ticket online in advance and the price for the weekend date of $90 ish total with no add-ons (with tax and fees). the website is also terrible bc it ways $39 when you see it and when you click it to book, it changes to $79 or something. the email they say they will provide small paddle and they did not. For the price they give you free meal at hot dog place mid way but hotdogs do not cost $50. I realized I should have checked and used Bucks Country river on Pennsylvania side. Almost half the price. 2. I thought maybe it is pricy bc of Covid and they will take less people. Nooooo when we arrived at 12 ish the line to get in the bus to get to the starting point was so long. Waited 30-40 minutes. It was so crowded with no social distancing line up. 3. The people working there were not clear, not nice and rude. Also, so disorganized. My friend got the delux but they did not give her the right band and she had to pull up the email. You have to get in line to get to the bus and come back. Both time you had to line up and people were randomly cutting. Wasted around 1hr total waiting for the bus. The fact that you can't just ride home from the parking lot after the ride is not great. The place is further upstream from the starting point so at the end of the trip you have to be in a bus for a quiet while. 4. The fact that you have to bus both way is terrible bc of wasted time but terrible during the Covid time when you want to avoid being in a tight place with lots of people. Had a good time with my friend but feel like I wasted money and should have gone with the Pennsylvania side where they have parking lot at the end where you can drive up, price is only 40 and they actually have timed ticket. River is awesome but this company lacks morals especially during covid. Yes I know I chose to go but thought some safety would be in place like Akron, OH. Staff at registration were great despite the long lines. You load "your" tube onto bus. You are squeezed onto the bus. It's a free for all off the bus and take whatever tube is left. Regardless who touched it. Lunch is good but inefficient. Three lines for a good 60 people. Ketchup and mustard jars are not sanitary - covid or not. Leaving the river lacks coordination. Two people standing there don't tell you much unless you ask three times. Then it's a muddy walk to the bus. One lady fell pretty hard. Will do again but finding free drop in points. read more

I was excited to be out of the City with friends for the first time in months. We have been quarantined on our apartment and wanted a cute river moment. I googled tubing in the area and came across a disaster of a website in DRT. From a design perspective, the web designer clearly got some inspiration from the local circular, or perhaps the impossible amount of food items at the local diner. Sweetie, some free advice KEEP IT SIMPLE. During COVID, I was looking for a safe simple inner tube to rent down the river. You know, the small beauties in life. My tube was a chic shade of orange, and came with a glamorous head rest and a drink holder. By the way, the puritanical management at DRT does not allow alcohol, so hide it well. Normally, the cost of entry $57, comes with a hot dog on the (preferred) Jersey side of the River on a dusty little island called "Adventure Island." Sadly, the famous hot dog man was not cooking me a weenie! The river was still, calm, not many people, and very relaxing. We had a nice float. Then, we landed and headed to the bus. We waited a considerable amount of time for the first bus, which filled up before next bus arrived with seats for us. There are all these procedures, like wrist bracelets, straps, life vests have to be collected before and after getting on the bus. This doesn't strike me as particularly COVID-clean. Then, four people get on the bus without face masks. The policy is that everyone must wear one. (Everyone else was). The driver of the bus offered to let us wait for the next bus... Ask us if WE SHOULD WAIT? We said, "They should get off the bus." We had a little back and forth before the driver gave them masks and napkins and took off. I wouldn't recommend this tubery. Go to the store and buy yourself a tube and a pump. Get a ride or park two cars apart and move on with your socially distanced life. read more

We got here by 10:00 AM and there were many people waiting on line to get to the bus. It was a 30 minute wait on line with no practice of social distancing. For 7 people it came out to a total of $400 which I think is was overpriced. It's about a three hour long attraction. Besides all the people and lines, the river is beautiful. Perfect for first timers. read more

The place is simply not managed at all. It's run by teenagers but with no apparent supervision/management. Expect to wait 2-3 hours in line in order to board the bus to the River. Expect no social distancing to be maintained. Expect everything to generally run poorly because no one is really directing the staff. It's a shame because with a little bit of supervision, this business can turn it around. To the owners: there are apps that enable you to take people's cell number and then send them an SMS when it's their turn... That way everyone can social distance by waiting in their car and only come up to the bus when it's their turn. These apps are cheap and will keep folks from standing 3 hours in the waiting for the bus. read more

Beware! We came to this place and ended up spending two hours waiting in line!!! They did not have enough buses to take customers to the river and everyone was hot, hungry, and frustrated. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Not with the long lines and frustration. What a terrible way to spend Labor Day weekend! read more

Theee hour wait for a 10 minute bus ride. They didn't have double or triple tubes. They say they ban coolers. BRING A COOLER!! $60 PER PERSON. They sold me a water right bag that wasn't for like $30. No oars. No tube tethers. We got to the hot dog dude and there was a monster line so we didn't get to do it because they got us in so late we were afraid we were going to miss the last ride out. The river is great. Buy tubes and take two cars. Put one on the bottom to ride back to the other. It saves a boat load of time and money. These guys add zero value. In fact their rules make their value add a value subtract. Avoid. read more

Live updating this review as I stand here. So far I have been standing in line since 11:20 (closing on 2 hours) and have moved 12 parking spaces forward. Some staff is great, at least they started providing some free water. That being said, the staff members, the website, the in person rules, and everything about this place are all on different pages. Contradictory rules stemming from how and where to lineup, to what you're allowed to bring and what they provide. Also I learned that you can tell staff that your son works here, and that gets you to the front passed literally everyone who was waiting, as patient as can be, with absolutely no repercussion. Eventually the line speed picked up as more busses starting showing up. River was a calm ride. Can't comment on the hotdog stand because the line was extremely long, and we had already had enough of waiting today. read more

Horrible horrible tubing experience. Should've known this would be a disaster when the owner's weird son got on the bus and said "Hi you may have seen us on the news, but thanks for coming out anyway" and then wasn't even going to offer an explanation until someone asked. He then proceeded to talk at us for the entire 20 minute bus ride about a weird legal battle they were having with the DEP which was crappy for them but honestly way more information than your customers need or want. Then there was a massive thunder and lightning storm and NO ONE came to check on us or help us out of the river which we were stuck in. I don't mean a little sprinkle either. This was a torrential downpour with huge thunder cracks and too-near-for-comfort lightning strikes. In fact, we asked someone from the company ahead of time about the possibility of a storm when we saw the forecast and he said it was fine, it was pushed back till the afternoon - and even if there was a storm, there would be boats to check on us. Well, surprise surprise, huge storm, no boats. We were trying to swim to shore and were getting pushed back out by the current. I was swimming so hard I could've drowned if not for my life vest. Then when we FINALLY made it back to the ending point, a teenage employee told us to "hold onto his boat" despite being 3 feet from shore and almost took my arm off because who the heck can hold onto a boat in a tube! If you don't want to die don't go here. Edit: Posting a douchey response just cements how much of a joke this company is. This was an absolutely horrendous experience across the board -- from the teenage staff who were ill-equipped -- to the actual experience on the tubes, and lastly the lack of communication throughout our whole entire day. We expected a relaxing time on the river in our tubes and from the looks of the site, it was advertised as such. This is NOT the case from what we experienced yesterday. The "restrooms" that they advertised were two portapotties that were filled to the brim by the time we arrived at 12 PM. After that, we signed a waiver which is standard practice for any business, but it doesn't absolve the manager/owner from taking responsibility when things go awry. I was told I needed a smaller tube or I wouldn't be able to paddle. The man who was assisting me said they ran out and I would just have to make due. If I wasn't properly tethered to anyone I would have been literally up sh*ts creek without a paddle and no way to get out of the water. Oh yes, they told us that they were out of paddles. This should have been the first red flag, and in my opinion, something they should have been prepared for. We piled in on the bus to be driven to the river and were given absolutely no direction. It was advertised as a three-hour ride on a lazy river. What we experienced was anything but. We weren't told about landmarks, we weren't told about the BBQ lunch we paid for. We weren't told about where to exit the river. All we had to go by was a small map provided on our tubes, with little to no directions. We thought maybe this would be okay and that we could ask employees for directions or have them guide us. We thought, surely there must be people at different checkpoints to ensure safety and keep things moving smoothly -- nope! We were completely stranded for five hours with no bathroom break, no food (they failed to tell us that the advertised shacks on the site weren't ready yet, so we completely missed the MOVING PLANK with the bbq) Were we supposed to swim to the plank against the current? Were we supposed to eat our lunch in the tubes? We paid extra for food, drink, and snack and were given one slice of pizza that you can get in Manhattan for $1.75. We only received this slice of pizza at the end and by that time we were all light headed and dizzy. We paid an extra $8 for food so when I asked if they could give us another slice, the advertised snack, and a beverage we were met with contrary answers and blank stares by the less than enthused employees behind the counter. Our tubes strictly said "do not pass pillars" yet there was no one guiding us to an exit and the current was taking us past the pillars. We only learned after the fact that the exit was past the pillars for this week given the flooding that happened prior. Our two friends fell out of their tubes because the current was so strong. They spent a good chunk of time swimming outside of the tubes screaming for help. NO ONE on staff was around. NO ONE from staff helped them. Instead, they were able to flag down the attention of two fishermen and thankfully they were able to take them to safety. All of this to say the way they run this operation is dangerous. I would NOT recommend this for families or children. You can't have people sign waivers and then be completely negligent in terms of taking the proper safety precautions FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS. Five hours on a river with no one in sight is dangerous! We're good swimmers but we're not navy seals and had nothing at our disposal to aid us to safety. Another friend's blood sugar dropped considerably low. What if my friend was diabetic? What if we all got sunstroke? If you're going to advertise this as a family fun sport you better be prepared to deal with sudden ailments. Your staff should be hands-on and if anything overcompensating to make sure your customers are looked after and comfortable. Never in my life have I ever experienced such incompetence. read more

I see so many negative reviews and maybe it's because a lot of people come during peak season and it apparently gets packed. We came end of Sept and there was barely anyone in the river in fact at some points we were buy ourselves. The only downside was the water was at its lowest in 5 years and the tide was barely moving us & the water was cold. They came to move us twice - once when we were stuck before the hot dog man and once after at which point we asked them just to take us back to the dock. The way the tide was moving it would have taken 6 hours to complete. I'll probably go back once more in the summer so I can get the full experience of going through the rapids. The people running the company are also SO NICE! When we got there somehow the car died up the street - they were so friendly and ensured they would give us a ride up to the car and even help us jump it. Honestly such sweet people who work/own the place. Definitely worth it - maybe recommend going before and after summer ends given all the negative reviews. I had a great time. read more

Do not go to this place unless you like: 1-waiting in lines for HOURS! *at the start to give waiver, *to get your wristband (you prepay but still have to get in same line as people buying tickets!), *to get on bus, *to get food, *at end to get out of water, *then to get on another bus. 2-complete lack of organization 3-teen workers without any management or authority figure present to ensure directions are provided, things are moving as needed 4-prepaying for tickets no advantage at all! 5-paying extra for a veggie burger that is burnt and no ketchup - lots of empty bottles but none for the "free" food You get the point-way too costly for the service. Use the money to get your own tube, park a car at beginning, park one at the end, and have an enjoyable day. read more

I am not one to complain, but it is scary times in this world, and this place is EXTREMELY UNSANITARY and disorganized!!! The river it self was lots of fun and the Hot dog man was great! Mask we're worn on the bus, but not strictly enforced and there was no social distancing! Everything else was horrific. This was so awesome I want to go back tomorrow. We had a blast. Our tubes were comfortable we got head rests. Although the river moving quick we were able to get to it and swim and pull over to the side islands to hang out. Just look at the map on your tube and make sure you don't stop on a private island. It was nice to be out on our own and the instructions and maps are super easy to follow. We had no issues navigating the river. The lines in the morning were a bit long but we still managed to spend 6 hours on the river. I would spend 8 if I could. The hot dog man was really cool. Lots of fun. I got a veggie burger. Absolutely loved it!!! Bringing more friends and our kids. read more

Perfect family outing!! 4 Stars because of the cost - $200 for a family of 4 in "peak season" on a Saturday. This is a we'll run business. When you arrive the line looks long but there are serval representatives ready to help. I recommend taking care of the payment and waivers online if you want to avoid the line. Once you receive the tube/raft/canoe/kayak you board a school bus to the river. Once in the river it's a lazy ride with a pit stop for hot dogs & burgers. Everyone is casual, friendly, & just out to have a good time. Be advised: 1) Wear water shoes NOT slides/flip flops. 2)Bring a paddle!! 3) The upcharge for a tube with a mesh bottom is totally worth it! 4) To stay together ask for the tube connectors. I have gone here many times and every time I had a blast. It was difficult to choose a star rating because there are so many things that are to be considered. There are so many staff members, some very friendly and others not so much. The establishment isn't super clean but people are coming from a river so you can't expect it to be super clean. I feel the prices are high but it comes with an adventure and a meal so is it really that high? All I know is that no matter who joins me on the adventure down the river.... we always have a good time. read more

Other than the drive out here, this day spent tubing down the Delaware with my son was one of the greatest most relaxing days I've had in years. I was a little skeptical at first because every tubing trip I've ever done was with a group...so just showing up and going with my son made me a little nervous, but these folks have this down to a nice system. There is definitely some waiting that you end up doing, but we were very happy with the service, the transportation, and the instruction. The ONLY downside to the day was the "Hot Dog Guy" was off the week we went and we hadn't brought food with us. I'd really like to get back up there with the whole family for another trip down the river. read more

A bunch of friends and I got together on the first official day of summer and decided to go tubing. We had such a good time, especially since the weather is nice, it was super scenic, and we got the whole package since food was included. Coming from Philly the drive was enjoyable. There is a lot of parking, and the inside is enjoyable with all different tubes, life jackets and even hats and shoes for sale. They can also store items in a free locker for you in case you don't want to take car keys or cellphones down the river. The bus drivers are enjoyable, all the staff was friendly. I think our group really wasn't paying attention to where we had to exit off, and we felt like we had missed the exit but a staff member came to get us out of the water. Buses will take you back to the main building. The day we went the tide was high, but normally the food will be served to you in the water while you're tubing. Ours was available after. Choice of hot dogs or burgers, with chips and a drink. I loved it and would definitely want to do it again. read more

This place is so disorganized and horribly managed. We wanted a raft and they gave us the upgraded tube instead. We spent $317 for 3 of us. What a waste! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Had the WORST experience with them. They are over priced, unorganized, and rude. I don't even know where to begin. Firstly they are extremely over priced. They were not enforcing social distancing and they were not sanitizing anything. People are getting on and off the bus without them wiping anything down. Second, they don't have check in times. Anyone can show up at anytime and you can wait for hours. Thirdly, they aren't organized. Staff was standing around and each member told you something different. They were just allowing people to walk up and get right up to the front of the line when they didn't have wrist bands on. Lastly, they were rude. I was with a group but we all paid individually for a our rafts. Well they tried to put us all on one. We had to speak to 3 different people before getting what we paid for. They told us to step aside so they can help other people. After we had already waited a hour and a half in line. Finally we get bused to the drop off location and they didn't put Ors on the bus so we had to wait for them to bring us ors. It's was awful. They get one star because the river itself was beautiful. I suggest you bring your own floats, kayaks, etc. and getting on the river yourself. Never again will I waste my money on this company. read more

My friend & I decided to take an end of summer trip. The place is a bit thrown together but if you ask one of the very nice workers they will give you step by step instructions of where to go. The bus ride up is so convenient with fun drivers. But the best part of the whole thing is the views!!! The water and shores are always so clean, the shore has so many trees and cliffs. There is a road very close to the river but it is never busy, the hot dog stand is very easy to get to and the food is good! There are a few nats and dragonflies on the river but they usually don't land on you. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, I have never had a bad experience here. read more

Just returned from tube trip. It was me, my daughter, 18 & my son, 11. Overall it was a great way to spend a very hot heat wave day. Web site said they opened 9am & we arrived a few minutes before then. There were already a few cars in lot. We had prepaid online. There wasn't really any signs on how to proceed. We went in, were directed to go turn in our waivers & pay & then we did our key check. Next got our tubes & that went smooth. Next went to get life jackets & nobody there to direct you or help but we managed no problem. After that, didn't know where to go for bus... we waited where we thought we should be & someone yelled at us to get out of that area & go wait somewhere else. We figured it out & found right place to wait & got on 1st bus. Bus driver (older lady) was quite funny & good driver. When they drop you off they simply hand you the tube & just point you down the stairs & you are on your own. Some people seemed confused as to what to do but we just got in our tubes & pushed off, no problem. We used straps they provided & kept our 3 tubes tied together all day - I liked that. The water was beautiful. I would say the day was 99% like a lazy river & 1% mild rapids. Not rough at all. More like a day lounging around on a raft. We all got out of the tubes many times & swam in the river. Water was shallow probably 70% of the trip. The only little issue we almost had was getting to the hot dog lunch - we stayed right as advised when we saw signs but right near hot dog guy the current was very strong & I got out of tubes & tried to drag us in & still almost missed it. We did make it to shore & had lunch & it was pretty good. Few things I wish I knew ahead of time: - The tubes have cup holders so I would recommend you bring some bottled water or drinks - Plenty of people bring coolers or cooler bags & tie them to the tubes. When we got back to the headquarters around 130pm it was beyond packed. We saw zero showers or changing rooms which they advertised they had. They do have plenty of port o potties, but I did not see any changing or shower area. A little pricey, came to $162 for the 3 of us, but worth it. Okay, I have done the lazy tubing thing at a water park which is fun. However, I much prefer the other attractions like tidal pools, chutes, and slides. But, this is a more natural setting which I think more outdoors folks will appreciate it. LOGISTICS ========= - admission includes a regular tube with no seat back (if you want a fancy tube with seat back, then it's $5 extra), bus transportation to drop-off and pick-up, food and drink at the hot dog stand man - parking is not free so it helps to come as group in one car - you can leave car keys at the front desk or I just brought a waterproof bag in my speedos (just kidding- swimming trunks) - bring sunblock if you burn easily since I got burnt on my legs pretty bad - if you are vegan or vegetarian, someone told me that you had to specify when you get a food/drink wristband - be sure you exit at the sign for Delaware River Tubing and not at the other bank for the other outfitters EXPECTATIONS ============= - slow moving current on the Delaware River so expect 2-3 hours on the water - nothing too exciting except a few little dips along the way - relax since you aren't battling any rapids and enjoy your company of friends Now, I thought the burger and drink were delicious because it was way past lunch time and anything tastes good at that point. I saw some others who packed lunch which is another option. If you expected more bumps, then I would recommend white water rafting. For a lazy summer day, you should have a grand time:) read more

I come every year now. I bring a huge group of over 20 for the group discount. I think its organized with the bands they give you. One wrist band for your tube and bus ride, and 1 band for your meal on the water. lots of parking space but you have to pay extra to parking but its safe and i know its there when i get back with my huge group. This past year 2012 the picnic tables in the water are no longer there. Apparently it was causing problems with the flow of water per the environmental people and made them take it out which causes a major problem with bees. Usually we are in the water we eat half in and half out and the water deters the bees and bugs from coming around however this year eating on your tube or standing up cause such a bee problem by the garbages or anywhere we had sweet stuff that I was def upset by this. You should def listen to the signs that say stay to your left after the food stand because the exit comes up quick and it can be deep. I have had a friend continue to float away and not be able to exit but the boat people eventually picked him up before hitting the bridge. After floating we get back in the bus and head to where we started a few miles up the road. There are changing areas and portable bathrooms and i believe a snack area. My recommendation would be to head to the near by towns on the water and eat and enjoy the rest of your day. I recommend purchasing the vouchers from Living Social for the discount rate if you are a small group. I'm a fan because you pay your money and you have nothing to worry about when going with a huge group everyone will go to the same place and go back to the same place and its well organized. I dont have to lug around tubes, food or worry about having cars to pick me up at the end and organizing all that hassle when in a large group. read more

The employees (most of whom were young teens) were all very kind, but the business is severely lacking management and a mission. My family of four waited in line for over two hours to get our tubes, and it took another hour to return back to our vehicle after finishing the adventure. The buses were dirty and everything seemed disorganized as a whole. There appeared to only be two or three buses running for everyone to get to the river. The tubing itself was fun, but this review is not about whether or not tubing is cool (it is), it's about whether or not DRT is legitimate, fairly-priced, kind, and safe business. TL;DR - definitively, it is not. Additionally, my tube had a hole in it, but luckily it was small enough that the tube was mostly still inflated by the time we were done, so no harm there. Other run down aspects of the business, if you care about those kinds of things, include the storefront and the buses, which were old and run down. Normally, we seriously wouldn't care except that, at $61 per adult, the price is EXPENSIVE (quick note on the price - they told us it was four dollars cheaper than it was when we arrived). And they didn't even provide the free BBQ meal they promised (it was never made available), and then the "3 to 4 hour float" (per staff) was clocked in at under two hours, both of which made this experience an even larger rip off than it would have otherwise been. But none of that is why we asked for a refund. We asked for a refund because, to be blunt, DRT had zero interest in public health or our safety. Despite being told everyone would wear masks, about half the staff overall were not wearing masks. The bus drivers both on the way to and from the river did not wear masks. Of the staff that loaded the tubes into the buses on the way out, two of the four were not wearing masks. Neither of the staff loading the tubes on the way back were wearing masks. Most of the older, manager-type staffers were not wearing masks either. We had to implore the staff to enforce the mask rule while in close quarters on the bus to the river. The buses we were told would be at 50% capacity, and they were more like 80-90% both ways, so social distancing was not an option, making those masks very necessary. The bus driver on the way back had people without masks hold a single-use paper napkin over their noses and mouths, and was angry with us that we asked they enforce their own mask rule. At the end of the trip, as if to say, "What a financial opportunity this pandemic is!," the return driver said she was gonna send send a junior staffer to Walmart that night to "buy a box of 100 masks for a couple of bucks," then "sell them to people on the bus for a dollar" each, which of course means that they're already planning to let more people on the bus without masks, all so they can make a few bucks. I can't believe I have to write this, but price gouging public safety equipment at the expense of public health is not a good look during a pandemic. We asked the friendly front staff for a refund, since they didn't even try to live up to their promise of keeping us safe (what they told us their policy was when we first arrived and inquired), and they said sure, we just had to speak with the manager first. We waited for a few minutes and were then told that the manager wanted us to speak with the owner, so we waited some more. The owner then phoned in and told us what we experienced could have never happened because of their supposedly sufficient public health measures. After being told I was a liar, he told me how much training they were going to do with their staff, and blamed all his problems on the poor teenagers he hired for the summer. I tried to inform the owner that they were not even following their own, insufficient rules, he cut me off and would not hear it. After shouting at me for a minute, he refused to issue a refund, so at that point we just left. read more

This place is great! I've gone tubing with Delaware River Tubing many times and it's always lots of fun. They have an efficient system which makes getting started go quickly. They offer a few different styles and sizes of tubes making it easy to find the one that's right for you. Some suggestions: come in as few cars as possible. Come dressed with swimming gear, they do have changing tents. Bring a waterproof container for your keys, money, etc. read more

We were really looking forward to a peaceful day on the river and the river was beautiful but overall experience with the company was AWFUL. they did not enforce their mask policy on the bus making this not only a bad but potentially dangerous experience. We were concerned about the bus to begin with and asked the person when we checked in if we could park our car at the end of the trip so we didn't have to take the bus. She said there was no parking where you put out. She lied. There was a parking lot. Also it's expensive. If you want a safe, fun time on the river save yourself money and a terrible experience and buy a tube and go down the river without this irresponsible company. If you are at all concerned about safety in this moment DO NOT go to delaware river turning. Also it is really expensive. Omg ! Omg! Omg! I am seriously praying I do not get covid from the unsanitary conditions of this place. The website mentioned they are taking precautions, which is bull-ish!!!! The only precaution is a mask. They did not distance anyone, and we were in a THREE hour line of hundreds of people, they STUFFED people on the busses to and from the river and on the way back we were next to a bunch of drunk idiots without masks and the driver did not say anything to make mask wearing mandatory. After we got back we saw them throw the life jackets back on the rack which tells me they DO NOT sanitize! Praying for everyone there today and for myself and my family. We had a great time when we actually got to the river. Their process of getting people tubes and onto the bus was terrible. ALSO- they threaten that they will go through everyone's coolers and take away alcohol. NOT TRUE! we took alcohol onto the river and no one ever looked through our bag!! At least follow though with your threat if you are going to post a million signs about it. Get there early or go on a weekday Bc we waited almost 2 hours to get a tube and get on the bus. The hotdog man was great.... no it's not a singular man selling hot dogs- but the concept of stopping and eating on the river was awesome! I would do it again :)) read more

WOW. Can we say PRICE GOUGING. Or maybe they are this high all the time? You would think that they had to pay the water bill for the river or something. My family and I try to tube as many rivers as we can in the summer. THIS place here is the highest I've ever heard of. Over $60 a tube????? When we stayed near DC a year ago the amazing tube company in VA cost $15 a tube. The highest we have paid is $20 a tube. And they were selling sun screen for $20+ The can that you can buy for $8 at Walmart. I would total expect to pay a little more but that's crazy. No thanks guys. I see there are lots of people that don't mind forking over their cash for a well over priced tubing adventure. Hopefully the other places will open soon. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME* we waited on the line for 2 hours, one on top each other with no social distancing mandated or respected. Once we were ready to go, the staff told us to get on the bus and stated "the rafts will be there. Just go." We get to the boat launch, and in fact our rafts (2) party of 8 WERE NOT THERE. We were so appalled by the lack of communication and misinformation. The two staff members at the launch told us there is going to be a trailer coming with our rafts. 4 buses come without our rafts, and we waited 1 whole hour with no update. A gentleman driving the trailer came and told us "I didn't know anything about the raft. This is the only one I have for this party. They closed." These poor boys at the launch did all they could, but with no communication from their headquarters and poor customer service, we still had to wait. Finally, after calling GREG who yelled at us for calling him we were given our 2 rafts 45 mins later. The buses were never sanitized after use, I mean no one wiped it down. Imagine all the bodily fluids including perspiration and all the germs sitting on the seats awaiting for us. Side note: go on your own, daily fee $12 for NJ residents. read more
