If you've never been here, you need to give it a try! We were in town visiting family who rave about Boundary Waters Lodge--especially the Buffalo Chicken Tenders--and now we understand why. Right away, we were greeted by Beth, the owner, who was warm, welcoming, and quick to get our drink orders started. Our server, Tracy, was just as friendly and incredibly attentive--the perfect level of service from start to finish. Our beers arrived cold and crisp, and the food followed shortly after, cooked to perfection. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, packed with flavor and still steaming even five minutes after arriving--so impressive! The famous Buffalo Chicken Tenders absolutely lived up to the hype and were hands-down the best tenders I've ever had. Truly melt-in-your-mouth good. My husband had the Bacon Chicken Wrap and said it was one of the best meals he's had in a long time. It's easy to see why people become regulars here--you're treated like family. Went with a group of six they were very accommodating and sat us at a long table in the back. Which we appreciate it so that we could sit and talk and laugh and not bother any other guest. The French onion soup was very good and not at all salty. I had a chicken breast that was very delicious. Someone else at the table had the perch and that looked excellent. We go specifically for the perch and it's always great! Good portion, baked potato, and bread is our go to.

What an inconspicuous restaurant. If you blink you'll Miss it as you drive. But let me tell you, STOP AND EAT HERE! My family and I went for dinner because we had heard good things about their fish and it being lent, we went and we'll be back. From the warm fresh bread w/whipped butter they bring to the table to the dishes we got, everything was amazing. We had the perch (fried & sauted), shrimp, and salmon. Our waitress was delightful and patient as we looked over their menu. Looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu! read more

The food was good I got the barbecue wings with ranch and fries very good. I also really like that they have nice wooden lodge looking ambiance but the service was a little slow but other than that great. read more

This place is just okay. It's nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Anyone who lives in Demotte, IN knows that the options for food in town are mostly fast food. I had wanted to take my sister-in-law out for lunch while I was in town awhile back. We didn't feeling like driving up to the Merrillville area for food, and I had been wanting to come in here anyways, so we went. The decor on the inside is really interesting. It looks like a hunting lodge, which to be fair, is pretty appropriate for the town it's in. There was only one other table inside we when came, so we were seated quickly and our food arrived quickly. I got a wrap, and I'm pretty sure my sister-in-law got a burger. We both ordered the sweet potato fries. She enjoyed her food pretty well, and I thought my wrap was pretty standard. The fries were surprisingly good though. The service was really good - friendly and efficient. Overall, I'm not dying to go back to Boundary Waters, but I would go back again. It is certainly better than most of the other options in Demotte. read more

Don't pass up the chicken strips Buffalo style and their ranch is the best in the world!! Hot and fresh food! Beth is the sweetest

I have utilized this establishment many times. It's a great home town restaurant with a variety of eats. Always delicious soup of the day, many appetizers, salads, sandwiches, dinners. Everything is always hot and fresh. The Chicken Tenders are real! Full bar with great drinks! The owner is always very friendly, can tell she has her whole heart in her business! Great atmosphere and the food is good.The fries need an upgrade though the bar is very good with top shelf liquor.

We've eaten 2x's at the Boundary Waters Lodge. Nice decor. That's about it. Staff is adequate, at best. Seemed that they were more interested in visiting with each other ...than serving the customers... Menu...it has some variety...but the preparation and presentation is definitely sub-standard...IMO ...pricey for what you get. We'd rather drive an extra 20 miles...pay the same...but get better food and service. read more

The place looks very unasumming located in a strip mall off the main drag in DeMotte but once inside it has a very rustic northwoods lodge feel to the place. Upstairs is non-smoking dining and downstairs is for smokers and the location of the big bar. They have a poll table and air hockey table for amusement. A side room is where the bands play. Okay on to the food....the menu was varied with everything from steak, shrimp and ribs to burgers and pasta. Had the BBQ Combo of ribs and chicken. Portions were large and since we were eating late we could of shared the plate cause we took home half on each of our plates. The sauce on the ribs was sweeter than I personally care for but tasty...I like my bbq a bit more spicy and tangy...prices varied and they offered an all you can eat on perch or shrimp for $21 bucks...all and all it was good and will go back again when in the area... read more

I give it three stars cause I do happen to love bread and they will give you as many fresh baked loafs as you want, but other than that, it's very expensive for not that great of food. Not exactly awesome either when the pop and tea taste funny cause of the water. read more

The food is nothing special. We had the nachos appetizer. The cheese was runny and had a funny taste. The wraps contained undercooked, hard, rice. The glassware was very hazy and I received a glass with a crack all around the middle. We visited three times total. The service in the dining room was unacceptable. They were never very busy and had several employees standing around socializing, but not serving the guests. It also smelled like someone was smoking in the restaurant despite the smoking ban. nothing special, we waited 45minutes for wings and a steak and the steak was okay but the wings were awful didn't even bother finishing, was really unimpressed with the food, it's cute inside nice looking place but if we're gonna spend 40$ on a meal it's gonna be somewhere else read more

Really slow service. We waited 25 mins for an appetizer and never received it. Won't go back!!! I would recommend going else where!!
