We packed the bar after my Uncle's funeral this week (Thursday 22nd) as it is right near the cemetery. Our waitress/bartender was an absolute gem but I failed to get her name. The heat had gone out but they had small heaters placed around which helped tremendously. The food here was really good and the place was pretty full. Drinks were good, appetizers were huge! We especially love burger month in May and anytime there is a peanut butter cookie skillet on special. Our favorites include Revolution Pizza, chicken fried chicken, beef stroganoff, revolution pizza burger, pot roast, pot roast pot pie, parmesan burger - the list could just go on. We went there on July 1st, and it was our third visit this year. My grandson thinks their pizza is the best, so we went there again. I started off with some onion soup, which at best, didn't have much flavor, you'd get a better one at Applebees. My grandson got his pizza and I got beef "stroganoff", my grandson's pizza, was as doughy, flavorless as could be, it was a thick mess, with unseasoned pizza sauce, or just tomato sauce, he took one bite, and said it's not his favorite place anymore. The beef "stroganoff", um, pot roast and gravy over noodles, no sour cream gravy, one dime sized mushroom, to say, $17.00 for this is ridiculous, is a compliment. No way, no how is this anywhere near a stroganoff! We are finished with going here, I don't need to spend this kind of money for something this terrible. read more

What a killer bar and restaurant. The industrial design is like nothing I've ever seen before. It harkens you back to the early industrial era. The TV play old silent movies along with the History Channel of back in the early years of steel and automotive industries. There even are TVs in their restrooms and a miniature train running overhead. OK to their food, the meatloaf I had was spectacular! Better than I can make with some of the best mashed potatoes with vegetables of the day which was sweet corn. My wife's entree was pot roast Mac and cheese. Her opinion was it was delicious with plenty of cheese and would order it again. The other entree was leafy spinach with diced chicken and I was told it was fantastic! We all raved about how much flavor each had with bottomless soft drinks. So, if you're in Valpo stop and enjoy the ambiance and the food and drinks. Spectacular place. Incredible design, service was super fast, good and drinks were great. Beware of the appetizers, though: they come out fast and if you're not careful you will not have enough room for the half-pound burgers and potato wedges. Ordered the molten cheese dip (comes with tons of red, corn, and blue tortilla chips) and the baked pretzels. Both were served almost immediately and the pretzels (which were insanely good) had to have just come out of the oven. Might be the best ever. The signature Industrial Burger was cooked perfectly. And the bacon on the Morning Shift Burger couldn't have been more perfect. Both were incredible. But the star of the show was the Mom's Famous Double Shift Pot Roast. The five and four star reviews are dumbfounding as our food, yet again, was mediocre at best. Today is my last day with my grandson. We like to go out together for meals. It was my turn to pick a local place. This was my choice for lunch. The artwork outside is very catchy. The name alone honors the industrial workers with statues and archival photographs on the wall showing white men in factories, construction, the railroad, accompanied with anecdotes about hard work and patriotism. I ordered the prime rib Philly and a pint of Maplewood Brownie Points. The beer was fantastic! If I don't have to drive 2.5 hours home, I would have had a second pint. Such a good beer. As I moved in to Valparaiso, my brother helped me out. I told him to pick a place since he is not staying and he chose Industrial Revolution. It is conveniently located next to Valparaiso University for what will be many trips in the future for me. The decor is quite stunning with statues of construction workers from the early 1900s and the bit of history that decorates the walls. The menu is quite extensive and diverse. If you can't find something you like on this menu, you might be the pickiest eater on the planet. There are home-cooked meals, wings, chicken fingers, pizza, pasta, hamburgers, salad...you name it, there is some variety on it. When I started looking at the menu, Pot Roast Mac and Cheese screamed out to me! And it did not let me down! It used bowtie pasta with several types of cheese including blue cheese on top. Pieces of pot roast were distributed throughout the dish. The pot roast will be a meal I will get in a visit soon as it was juicy and full of flavor. I did order fried pickles for an appetizer. I've only been here twice in my life, the first time I got sick from the fish tacos. I gave it another shot and did not find anything amazing about the food. I had the perch special that comes with 5 very small pieces of perch, coleslaw, choice of fries, and tartar sauce. The perch itself was dry, but the breading was seasoned well, and the tartar sauce was good. My party ordered the chicken fried chicken, a fried chicken that was fried by a chicken. Can you believe it? It was overcooked, and the breading was burnt, and we could both taste it. On the other hand, the mash potatoes were delicious, and she liked the mixed vegetables. Overall, it wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. Would I come here in the future? The cup of chili was good but my mini burgers were really cold and over cooked. So this place has been on our list for awhile now, but we don't make it to the Valpo area often. We finally had the opportunity to check it out on a recent trip back from IL. I stopped in for a lunch on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't very busy and we opted to see at a high top in the bar. They have some great regional brews on tap and a full bar menu. The food menu is huge! We ordered the fried green beans as a starter and they were disappointing - small order for the price. The cucumber wasabi dipping sauce was a nice surprise. My husband couldn't resist the special burger which was stuffed with bacon and included a couple of cheeses and guacamole. He went with the garlic parmesan wedges for his side. I ordered the Cobb salad, hold the tomatoes. My husband loves a good burger and I feel this one left him disappointed. I tried a bite and while the burger was well seasoned, the "stuffed" was lacking. The presentation was not even close to the picture on the Facebook page - the guacamole was almost non-existent. The garlic parmesan wedges have potential, but were definitely under cooked and lacked a crispy exterior. The Cobb salad was a disappointment for the price. The avocado wasn't even close to being ripe - bland and crunchy (insert sad face here). We marked it off the list, but a second visit certainly isn't worth the drive.
