We came at the invitation of friends. We had never heard of it and loved the idea of eating under the 200+ year old FL live oak. Owned by a couple who met in culinary school. They moved here to their family farm to open their dream bistro. All food is grown or raised locally. We had the beet skin appetizer, split the roast beef au jus sandwich and fresh zucchini side. A solid 4 star. It was very good, but the sandwich was quite messy. The potato and corn soup was just ok. But the five star for us was our server, Autumn. Five stars is a lot for me but this place is outstanding!! Tucked away from the road it's beautifully set up under an angel tree with a small area covered off to the side. Farm to table Mediterranean, and fresh as fresh can be !! Everything was delicious, I had gyros, there was an order of shawarma, fresh baked Greek bread for the table. Well sized portions, nobody left hungry. They suggest reservations, and I would agree with that. We didn't have reservations the day we went, It was a little chilly in Florida, so we figured we wouldn't have a problem for a table which we didn't. The staff were friendly and accommodating, we had a little bit of wait between service, but it just gave us more time to enjoy the surroundings and chat. There is a nice little nursery on the property with fresh produce and beautiful plantings, will definitely be returning again. It was a lovely day out. read more

Today marked a disappointing end to what had been many years of regularly purchasing my produce from this farm, but today was my final visit. Upon arriving, I noticed the clearly posted 5 mph speed limit sign, which I fully respect, especially given the foot traffic between the farm, market, and bistro. I entered the lot at an appropriately slow pace--so slow, in fact, I could've walked faster. At the time, the area was entirely empty of pedestrians. While browsing the market with about a dozen customers, the clerk made an unnecessarily loud announcement reminding everyone about the 5 mph limit. This announcement felt more like a performance than a public safety notice. Moments later,AFTER completing my purchase, the same clerk returned my card while publicly chastising me for "speeding" and claiming I had endangered others. She declared--loudly enough for everyone to hear--that she had tried to flag me down outside to "yell" at me, but I hadn't seen her. Had I had this interaction with her before completing my purchase, I would have just left the produce. This kind of public humiliation is not only unprofessional but deeply inappropriate. If she truly believed there was a concern, it should have been addressed privately and respectfully, not after the transaction was complete, and certainly not in a way designed to embarrass. As a 30-year school teacher, I would never publicly embarrass my students, so I was shocked by a clerk who would do this to customers. To be clear: I was not speeding. But I've seen how management responds to other dissatisfied customers--often with defensiveness, gaslighting, or outright dismissal. I fully expect the same here. Regardless, I know the truth. I value professionalism and respect, and I will gladly take my business to a place where those values are returned in kind. read more

BYOB Alert! Saw a table of women enjoying a birthday meal over a few bottles and it looked jubilant. We stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon around 1pm and things were bumping! We had a 20 minute wait to peruse the farmers market and bask in the shade. The food was amazing. Fresh, delicious and organic. The bread was really tasty. LOVED the crispy beet skins and fried goat cheese with delicious pomodoro sauce. They were sold out of some things already which was a bummer but we still got an incredibly tasty meal in a beautiful setting at the base of spectacular tree overlooking the grounds. Everyone who served us was a complete delight and so friendly. Will definitely be back if we come through! They also have a sweet tea that is super refreshing (not too sweet)! Yum! read more

Distanced dining with friendly wait staff in masks. The menu has me wanting to try everything! There are apps, salads and various sandwiches. All veggies grown and fresh picked that day or so. I love a good fries green tomato so I had to test these out. These giant juicy and deliciously breaded tomatoes certainly passed the test. They were delivered on a bed of greens and had the right amount of crisp to them. We shared a delicious salad, super fresh veggies and homemade dressings. We also spit the savory grilled chicken sandwich and the hey Mikey. Both came recommended and neither disappointed. Everything was super fresh and tasty. Even the bread was made that day! Once finished with your meal j recommend heading over to the shop to check out the fruits and veggies for sale. All grown on premise or items from locals. It doesn't get more farm to table than sitting under an oak tree at a cozy table watching the staff cut the lettuce that will go into your salad. What a unique and charming experience! The food was good too. Between four of us we had the roasted yellow beet skins, egg rolls (that were good but somewhat juicy inside), the Asian salad, the burger, the mahi mahi sandwich and the heirloom tomato salad. All were very tasty. The mahi sandwich was an especially arge piece of fish and tasty. We shared a piece of strawberry pie for dessert which was not overly sweet. Go weekly for produce and have eaten there a few times. Freshest produce and local made products around. Price and quality better than Publix!! Only drawback is one young lady who works there. Apparently, likes to intrude and 'be the boss' in a negative way each and every time I have been there. I've heard her to do same to others as well. If I avoid her it would be 5 star. My wife enjoyed her dish as well. It's outdoors under a beautiful tree, great atmosphere for dining outside. It is closed for summer so we're looking forward to going back in October. 3 my friend and i ate here on nov 16th. The food was wonderful and staff very helpful. My friend is handicapped and brought her puppy with her. Lunch was great, puppy was well behaved and greeted other diners. There was also a lovely flea market. My friend needed to sit for a moment. There are some tables/ stands by the produce tent. My friend leaned against the table for a few moments to rest. Close by was 3 adults and 2 small chiildren.. My friends puppy had never been around a child. The puppy barked at the children. A young child came out of the produce buliding and told my friend that she needed to control her dog. This young lady was rude and we were spoken to rather rudely. So although it is a lovely place i would give more thought to whether you want to take your dog. read more

The menu has changed a huge amount to more of a Middle Eastern influence, instead of farm to table. What a fantastic find! We went to Bountiful Bistro with friends based on their recommendation. It's a little off the path, but that's part of what makes it so good. The grounds are beautiful. We sat outside under an old, enormous live oak tree. Our waitress, Autumn, was amazing - super attentive and knowledgeable. (Bonus: there was live entertainment). Our table had edamame, chickpea soup, tabouli, potato wedges, and chicken shawarma. The food was fresh and served hot. The menu was much more varied than I expected. I heard so much about this place and decided to go with a friend to celebrate my birthday about 10 days ago. The weather has been on the warm side yet there was a nice breeze to sit under the oak tree. Several menu items weren't available as they needed to use the kitchen to cook them and it was too warm to do that. This left only sandwiches and a few appetizers. The ceviche was ok. My lunch was a beef and cheese sandwich, another ok but not something to drive there to eat. They said they will probably shift to serving breakfast only for the summer. This was the most charming place to eat at on a sunny day!! It has a huge oak tree in the middle of the property with Spanish moss hanging down they put cafe tables and chairs under this massive, beautiful tree and that is where you have your lunch!! It was enchanting!! All on a real growing farm where you can buy things they grow in their real garden! I saw a woman walking out with a bag full of ears of corn!! Decided to check out this local farm that provides a good selection of veggies to farmers markets around the Orlando area. It's about an hour drive from Orlando to Okahumpa off of Highway 27. It's not a gigantic field but a good size one. Parking is along the dirt entrance and in an open field further in. This morning it was pretty busy. Found a spot at the entrance and walked up to the entrance. This morning had a mini last minute farmers market inside due to unforeseen circumstances. There were tents for other produce, honey, dips that people can buy etc. They also have a bistro that sells farm to table foods which I mainly came for. The special for today was a an Idaho Trout dish with bacon quinoa, Swiss chard and a Gaelic sauce. The bistro opens at 11am but got there a little early and sat out under the big tree that provided shade but a nice view of the market happening across from me. The food came out pretty quick. The presentation came out on a paper container. The trout was a nice portion that covered the swish chard pieces and the bacon quinoa. The garlic sauce smell was amazing. The trout was lightly fried on both side. The skin was included as I didn't mind at. It had a nice crunch to it and cooked perfectly. The bacon quinoa was extremely tasteful. The Swiss chard pieces was cooked perfectly. Overall, this was a super tasteful brunch item that definitely filled my stomach up. What a great destination for lunch. We dined under a giant live oak, and our experience was outstanding. I had the fried green tomato BLT with a side of potato salad. So yummy. We stopped here for lunch today...my wife and I, mom and dad and a friend. I ordered a Coke. The waiter brought me a warm can of Coke with a cup of ice. When I poured it in the cup it immediately melted most of the ice leaving the drink flat. The fish in the sandwich was good but the outside of the bread was very hard. The biggest problem was the cashier who I believe was the owner. When I paid the bill, I only left about half of the customary 15% tip. He tried to shame me into leaving more. After he informed me that there is a customary 15% tip, I told him, "Just take out whatever you'd like for a tip then." He said, "No, you're the boss, you tell me!" I told him that I already told him how much I was going to tip. He said "Ok, here's your receipt and don't ever come back!" That pretty much floored me so I went into defensive mode and told him that I didn't plan to and that he could go f--- himself. By the way, nobody else heard this exchange It was a quiet conversation. I wouldn't eat there again if they paid me. Not that I'm allowed back there anyway. After living in the villages for two years I can finally say I found a place that I love. What a beautiful farm and bistro and the over 300 year old oak tree that is incredibly gorgeous makes this place, a picture perfect location. Now for the food, I was told by someone that recommended the place that it was just salads and sandwiches nothing fancy, well that was wrong. First the salads, imagine everything fresh from a farm, beautiful tomatoes, different types of greens and homemade dressings, I'm hooked on the homemade blue cheese and would love the recipe (hint) and the variety of salads offered is outstanding. The starters are crazy good, loaded beet skins, I can't even begin, the beets are so flavorful that I could just eat them plain but the toppings brings them to higher level. The fried green tomatoes cooked to perfection and the Poppin Nannies well my mouth is watering as I write about them, goat cheese that just melts in your mouth. As for the sandwiches we have tried several and each one is delicious and amazing in its own way. Some sandwiches are on charcoal bread and for me being spoiled with NYC and my hometown Morristown NJ farm to table restaurants I've never had this but it was delicious. I wish I could pick just one but I have some yet to try but I can't imagine I would have anything bad to say but the ones we've had have been simply delicious. They also have homemade soups which I've yet to try mostly because I forget but today they had roasted beet soup which I still wish I had tried. AND they have homemade pies, last time there the hubby had the blueberry with fresh whipped cream and he wished he had ordered extra to go. I've eaten in some incredible restaurants, met great chefs and dined in their kitchens so I value each experience but the most incredible part of all this is their kitchen is in like a trailer type building which proves it doesn't matter the place the outcome is the most important part and these Chefs have conquered it all, great ambiance, warm and very friendly staff and outstanding food.
