The 2 chicken skewers were well flavored and the hummus was fantastic, but the pita slices and rice were average. The customer service was excellent. The pasta peeps very much enjoyed their creations and the grilled cheese was enjoyed. Unfortunately, little man couldn't eat the Mac and cheese because it was flavored with peppers and had some kick. For an adult, it was tasty. All in all, this was a great spot for lunch. We filled our bellies and departed with leftovers.

Visited the Winter Garden Farmers Market this past weekend, and I have to say that this is probably…read morethe best farmers market in the Central FL area. Parking was easy, free, and conveniently located to all the festivities which is a huge plus. This is also one of the few local markets where I've actually seen a large selection of fresh produce and and farm goods available. It was refreshing to see so many people bring their market bags on wheels, wagons, etc. ready to purchase fresh fruits & veggies and support our local farmers. Beautiful watermelons, tomatoes, papaya, lettuces, corn, peppers, zucchini, and more. There's a good mix of vendors ranging from jewelry and handcrafted goods to food trucks and specialty food items. We got mango coladas, mango flower with tajin, breakfast tacos, and of course, kettle corn. Huge plus that there is the downtown splash pad for all the kids to play right in the middle of all the action. It was a HOT one and this was a great way for my little guy to cool off and burn some energy while we sat and enjoyed our food. If you have kids, I highly suggest they wear their swimsuits and bring some towels to dry off.

The ironic part is that he's mildly allergic to pineapple, so he only drank the coconut water while my husband happily ate the pineapple itself! It gave us a laugh, and I reminded my son that next time it's perfectly okay to ask if the drink can be served another way or to mention his allergy before ordering. Overall, this is a charming little market that fits the character of the town. It's a great place to wander, browse, listen to music, and enjoy the local atmosphere. Still, it was not bad. Some of the vendors were selling some cool stuff and the crowd was not bad. One enterprising tent had one of the girls playing and singing in the Hope's of bringing people to their tent. I like the concept of a farmers market, a place to purchase local produce and artisan items. I just wish that this particular one had more produce vendors. Perhaps I came on an off day. This place is extremely convenient for me, so I will go back and check it out. To give you an idea where it is in the Waterford Lakes Town Centre, it is between the food area and say the Coopers Hawk restaurant. Parking, as you would imagine in a large market, is not a problem. They are there every Sinday from 11:00 to 4:00.

I love walking around, checking out the booths, and finding new local treasures. One of my absolute musts now is a matcha drink from Honey Nitro + Cold Brew. I had never tried matcha before, but a friend recommended their version with vanilla or lavender, and oh my gosh, it was creamy, smooth, and totally addictive. I seriously didn't know I could love matcha this much! Pappa Thai's summer rolls are another go-to. They're fresh, flavorful, and honestly hit the spot every single time. Light but filling and perfect for walking around with. And I can't forget Proud Pickles, they're such a fun little stand, and I'm absolutely obsessed with their items. Sweet, tangy, spicy, you name it, they've got it. I'm giving 4 stars only because I wish there were a few more vendors but I understand Gainesville is a small town. As we drove into the area, we could see the tents and lights and it was obvious from the getgo that this was going to be a serious market. There was plenty of space to park, and all close to the market. We arrived about 10 minutes after it opened and it was already busy with customers. There were a lot of vendors, from face painting to candied almonds to all the different salsas, barbecue sauces, and jewelry; there were a few food vendors, I thought there would be more, but hey, it's the first one. They Apopka Police Department had a demonstration of their K9 unit which was awesome! My favorite thing, though, was the fact that they had produce- which is the whole point of a farmers market in the first place! So many fruits and vegetables, and really good prices, cheaper than any of the local grocery stores. Plus, they had a fresh seafood dealer, and talk about fresh- I just wish you could eat it there- but I purchased some Stone Crab Claws and took them home and they were delicious! For the first one, I was very impressed, and I am sure it will even get better from here. I highly suggest you check it out, every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30!
