This is such a great place to go shooting with Beautiful views of Bountiful valley. It may not be the best place to go for your first time to a range and it's not intuitive of where to go as there are a couple parking lots and three ranges, but the main office is friendly and gets you signed in and out to the range to shoot. Pistol, rifle, and shotgun ranges. Had ear protection if you forget yours and a couple paper targets with your fee. Bring more paper targets though and have a blast. read more

This place use to be a fun close place to shoot. The range master is a complete tool. Very rude and unhelpful. Smokes like a chimney next to the lanes. I left before I got my rifle sighted in because I was so irritated. It's no wonder why people drive an hour to 5mile. So they don't have to deal with clowns like this one. read more

Let's be honest, gun ranges are to men as nail salons are to women. You can frequent the place as many times as you like, but you'll always get a weird sideways glance from the person next to you. The husband and I go to the gun range to shoot a variety of firearms. Pay your fee of $6, borrow some hearing protection from the surly range master and if you know what you're doing, be on your way. If you don't know what's up just ask the range master for rules, tips and pointers. The range is split into 3 sections: Pistol and .22 caliber rifles (includes a small shotgun area.) High powered rifles area (anything bigger than .22) and a skeet/clay pigeon area. We spend most of our visits at the pistol range. The great thing about this range is that you can shoot as many guns as you like for a flat fee. Just follow all the safety rules, be aware of and courteous to your fellow shooters and clean up after yourself. It's great fun, you meet great people and you practice a valuable skill all at the same time. I've heard they have a bowling pin shoot on Thursday nights and you can buy annual memberships that include your immediate family. They've made tons of improvements over the last year, so go spend some time in the beautiful mountains of Bountiful! read more

Old Green Berets never die. We just go to the Bountiful Lion's Range and regroup. Great range for everyone that loves shooting sports.

I like this range first because the shooting benches are covered, nice to have in hot or rainy weather. Also, the only other range close by only has a 100 yard distance. The Lions Club has up to 200 yards, which I like. It would be nice if one could shoot 300 yards. Years ago there was a 300 yard gong. Oh well, if you want 300 yards there is the Wildlife Federation range in Eden. read more

It sounds like Elder can't abide proper safety rules. This range is in a great location with a safety conscious staff.

I would give 5 stars if they had an actual bathroom instead of portal pottys.

My wife and I drove out to the Lions Club to try out this range, we have heard great things about the range, and staff. Now we do not shoot at these types of ranges we normally like to go to BLM land and shoot our steel IPSC targets. We arrive at the range, one of my firearms does not have a case for it, I am waiting for the case to ship, so I have it slung around me, I had a magazine in the weapon but not a round in the chamber. We walk up towards the office, I have a ammo can in one hand and the other hand is steadying the slung firearm as I walk. A young gentleman starts towards me very aggressively, "HEY you cannot walk up to the range with a magazine in your gun! I do not know if there is a round in the chamber or not" Shocked I apologized and removed the magazine from the weapon and locked the bolt open. The young gentleman then turned to walk into the office, he looks at one of the shooters he had been speaking with, and made a derogatory remark about me. This shooter looked at me and said "I know I agree" towards the young gentleman. The young gentleman proceeded into the range office without saying another word. I turned and looked at my wife who had a range bag in her hands, she had the same look of shock on her face as I. Now I understand I was in the wrong, like I said I do not normally visit this type of range. However that does not give this person the right to judge first and treat me as if I am the worst type of shooter he has seen, and then get praise from another shooting patron. A simple "Sir, when you come to a public range you need to make sure any weapon not in a case or holster needs to be visibly unloaded for safety" That would have been more then acceptable. Well my wife and I turned and left that place, never to return again. We will inform the rest of our shooting friends, family, and club members know about this experience. After we leave, we decided to go to a indoor range, I decided to carry my firearm in the exact same manner just to see what would happen. I walked in asked, the lady behind the counter asked "Is that weapon loaded?" No I said "OK well just so you are aware you need to present any firearm not in a case or holster with the chamber open and the magazine out" I said thank you for pointing that out, I am new to public paid ranges, I understand now thank you. She then got us our lane and said its common for shooters who are new to these types of ranges. I will be honest, when our shooting club meets we have never practice this. I do like the idea, and will start using it even for our club shoots. read more
