Recently been introduced to the joys of running - nope, not being sarcastic either!…read more I was wearing really bad/beat up tennis shoes and my gym partner suggested Hansons Running Shop as a place to check out for running shoes since she bought her shoes from there. She said how the shoes she got were like running on air and never felt more comfortable in a pair of running shoes. Visited Hansons on a Friday evening and was quickly greeted by a worker. I told him I needed some new running shoes. I took off my shoes and got on a machine that analyzes the pressure points you have in your feet. I was surprised to see that my pressure points were in my heels! I also got my feet measured to ensure my right size. I sat down and the worker got me started on 3 different shoes. All 3 fit perfectly and felt amazing but he told me to start walking around the store and comparing the shoes. The worker let me take my time and was not pushy. I asked to have a 4th pair to try out but quickly resorted to the pair I tried on first. I was happy with my decision and the shoes felt like a hug for my foot. I have never been so comfortable in a running shoe before! I got a pair of Brooks and the cost was $120.00. Sure, it is a bit much for a pair of shoes but my commitment to running and the support I needed was well worth the price. However, other shoe stores run similar prices but the customer service at Hansons is well above the rest. My first run with my new Hansons shoes could not even compare to my old shoes! I was able to run a lot faster with my new running shoes since I had the correct support in my heels and overall felt supported. My legs also did not hurt after running like my old shoes. Hansons has a lot of other great products besides shoes! Exercise clothing and other accessories. I would never go anywhere else when I need a new pair of running shoes!

I grew up in Lake Orion and came back for a visit this weekend. It was the first time in a very…read morelong time that I had gone downtown to go shopping. I was so excited to see new shops and boutiques had opened up and was very impressed with Simply Marcella. Simply Marcella is the ultimate girly girl boutique, right down to the fact that they have a liquor license so you can drink wine while you shop. There are also a few things for the men as well, but most (as my husband did) would probably prefer to sit in the comfy chairs in the center of the store while us ladies do our thang. There was a lot to look at from wines to purses to clothes and jewelry. What immediately caught my eye was their selection of black pearls. The owner's sister was quick to help me and very knowledgeable about the pieces. She was super friendly and great to talk to. In the end, it was love at first sight with a simple black pearl necklace. My husband then became very helpful and got off the couch! I really hope to see downtown LO grow some more and will tell everyone that it's great to shop local, especially in stores as unique as Simply Marcella.

Made sure he never came back. Workmanship horrible, owners tells you can use more of "brown" fieldstone instead workers used more gray. Workers did not listen to customer. Never cleaned up, so I could my kitchen. Bricks crooked, mantel crooked on one of the sides, when pointing to owner "he said floor wasnt even"ordered incorrect insert logs,the grout or should a say cement is crumbling at the bases/hearth. The other side of FP with a new mantel was taken down 2'xs because of excessive gaps. One worker had to be on one side working and couldnt "touch" the other side of FP of a worker who never showed up.Owner is a "smooth" talker- increased pricing didnt change invoice. Then when it was time to light up the FP, it didn't work! One guy couldnt figure out the problem, then owner came out several times and finally took part of FP apart, found that they didnt build it correctly, workerss forgot to install a baffle inside the exhaust. They never pulled permits with city, remove a gas shut off valve, when house was built, said we didnt need it anymore. What! It took over 3 months to complet the project, neighbors even ask why took so long!
