Warning to fellow consignors: I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at this shop. If you are looking for a place to consign your clothes, look elsewhere--unless you enjoy risking your items going missing without a trace or spending hours looking for your items. The owner herself didn't explain the process upfront which would give anyone pause from leaving their stuff here. Rather was rude when I said she didn't explain it upfront. There was zero accountability for lost or stolen items. When you hand your clothes over to a consignment shop, there is an expectation of basic care and security. Sadly, that is completely absent here. They have a policy that basically shrugs off theft or loss. They simply do not care about protecting your inventory. I had a few items that I never was able to find and the owner was no help. I was given attitude for any question I had. Spent hours looking for my items. Originally when I asked the owner how it worked, she failed to mention that I would have to look for everything myself at pickup. When my consignment period was up, I had to go through the crowded racks and hunt down every item myself. I spent so much time digging through racks just to recover some of my belongings. As a customer, a consignment shop should provide a level of partnership and trust. This place takes your items, cuts you out of the loop if they get stolen, and forces you to do the heavy lifting when you want them back. Save your time, your energy, and your items--consign somewhere that actually values its clients or better yet donate them to someone who really needs them. read more

You are such a liar! My mom came yesterday after you called and stated that you found all the items. My mom came with the police to make sure there was no trouble as she is 70 years old And your attitude completely sucked over the phone. for her safety because I couldn't be there we called the police . YOU never called the police. liar. I have a post of you up on Facebook and will be putting other places publicly soon so people can see your fakeness. First of all, my mom never threw a purse at your face. You're disgusting. She did however, toss it on the counter and told you that is not hers after you tried to give her someone else's items and no tag was even on it. The whole point here is not about all the other items except the one dress that she really wanted back that you all of a sudden couldn't find. after I posted a review of you you contacted me to come pick up the remaining of our items has you mysteriously found them. I had her come with the police officer and still no dress or money was given stick with the facts. Facts are she brought you 10 items and you only gave her nine the one dress that was $350. You never did give to her back. Your such a liar however there are other people out there that have the same complaint on google review. Be Aware! These people steal From you. We left 10 items only to get 5 back when owner could not find them herself she then said too bad call the cops. mind you she was extremely rude to my 70-year-old mother all on recording. We ended up leaving with only a few of our items. I wrote a review on Google and the next day she called stating she had the rest of the items we went back to pick them up and the custom-made dress of $350 was not in the bunch. Still no dress. BEWARE if you are considering consigning items at this store. Here are the rules: YOU will not be given a list of the items the owner decides to sell. You must make your own list YOU will be required to return in 60 days to pick up any unsold items YOU will have to trust the owner to tell you what didn't sell & then you must search the store to retrieve them. I adhered to all the requirements, however, I found out the day after I returned to collect my unsold items, that the owner DONATED my Coach & Kate Spade bags as "unsold"! I was there, she didn't tell me they didn't sell & to collect them. When she located them THE NEXT DAY, she didn't call me & apologize for not telling me or ask me to return to pick them up. Hopefully anyone who decides to consign will now know what is required & will not be cheated the way I was. read more

The newest set of owners (since I think about May of 2019) have really turned this place around!!! I used to be a shopper years ago and after the store had turned hands the first time, I noticed that things had really gone down hill, so I stopped shopping. When I saw new ownership again, decided to give it a go. Wow!!! All the name brands and style have come back. The store is clean, organized, and trendy again. Trouve Boutique Resale is a wonderful store with a friendly, helpful owner. I went in search of a dress for a wedding. Not only did I find a beautiful dress but discovered a shawl and dressy heels for my hard to fit feet. The store has great prices and clothing in a wide variety of sizes and styles . Brought clothes up to be sold. The woman in charge as upset they weren't on hangers and had a few pieces of dog hair on them. She "doesn't take wrinkled cloths" As she started to go through them she looked disgusted by choice in clothing that was brought to her store. Mind you ALL the clothes that I brought have been worn no more thanks twice. New condition, there was Ralph Lauren amongst the group, and the rest from target. I felt that my taste in clothing was below her and her store. There was no indication prior to going what clothing she was looking for other than summer. read more

Owner was very rude! She was ready and willing to take my clothing when I dropped them off for her to sell. However, when I went back to get what hadn't sold, I had to keep chasing her down to get her to help me. She wouldn't help me locate my items which were located throughout the store and was irritated that she had to take one of the dresses that hadn't sold off her mannequin. Some of my pieces sold. I think more of them would have sold if her prices weren't so high! Will not shop ore sell there again. read more

I would give ZERO STARS if I could. I brought in my clothes and when I came to pick them up I had items missing. She claimed that things could have been stolen and that she has video of a customer but she is NOT responsible for my loss. She took new items with tags on them and said that they could have been listed differently on my account as she and her assistant are so busy that they may put the wrong description on the list. Excuse me??? How unprofessional!! Why wouldn't you list the description accurately?? DO NOT TAKE ANY EXPENSIVE ITEM HERE OR ANY OTHER ITEMS THAT YOU NEVER WANT TO SEE AGAIN OR NOT GET PAID FOR!!!! BEWARE!!! When I was upset about not finding a pair of St. John heels with ostrich feathers on them, she asked why am I so upset about them?? You should be lucky you found any of your items she told me. She lied and told me that she spent 4 hours with me when I was there for 2 hours trying to find all my items. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! After dealing with the owner of Trouve and reading the reviews, (which I wish I would have done before going there), I realize I'm dealing with what seems to be a Dr. Jeckle Mrs. Hyde personality. I would definitely not give a star if possible. Instead, I would give a very serious warning to anyone considering getting involved with consignment there. The owner gives consignment shops a bad name. If you are buying or selling, yes, she is adorable and friendly and helpful. When you go to pick up what does not sell, DON'T ASK ANY QUESTIONS, AND DEFINITELY DON'T LOOK FOR YOUR THINGS!!! My friend had taken some things there and encouraged me to do the same, so when she went back I took four formals. My friend took more items for winter at the same time. I was to pick up her money and send it to her as she had moved, before each expiration date. The first time I went back, I received a surprisingly small amount of money for her, which I sent. This last time I went back was for both of our things. She only had $33.39 for very high end, expensive items, which included three gorgeous coats, one which was new. Judging by the prices listed for far less quality coats, I was shocked. I spent over two hours looking for the formals which the owner claimed did not sell. I found two. I checked each hanger on the racks, one by one, three times over. While I was looking, she came back and asked why was I looking for my dresses since I had said to donate them if they did not sell, so she had obviously been watching. Well, after I saw how crammed in everything was, I thought I had better check the condition and maybe donate the formals myself to Salvation Army. I told her that I just wanted to check my things and she responded, very sarcastically, that I was just checking on her. I thought I had a right to do that, but no way! After the two hours went by with two of the dresses not to be found and none of the coats for my friend to be found, I approached her. I had waited for all customers to be gone. She was with a friend for quite awhile, instead of helping me. I asked if maybe it was possible that the dresses and coats were in a different location and she immediately went into an unbelievable tirade. She would not let me even speak. She went on and on about how "you people" always claim their stuff isn't there, but it is. She actually yelled at me to go back and look again because everything was there. I did and they weren't. I went to the other side of the store and she went to the back area. When I turned around, she was still ranting at me and was heading towards the formals. She had made no offer to help me, even though there were no customers and had even yelled at me. Now, all of a sudden she goes to the rack right to the dress!!! I had even looked under the rack on the floor. She pulled out one dress, (the very expensive one that she wanted to keep the bag for, in order to protect the bead work but obviously didn't). I said, "Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for helping!" I reached toward her and she gave me the dirtiest look ever and said, "NO! Don't hug me! Don't touch me!" I told her I was very, very sorry and I wasn't going to hug her and I would not touch her. I asked her if the dress was somehow shoved inside the rack, but again, she never stopped ranting and raving. She had really pushed at me in front of her friend who was enjoying the whole show, by speaking in a very condescending manner. She told me to either get all my stuff or none! She kept saying that I had said two different things, that I wanted to donate what did not sell, but that I wanted to see the items. What the heck is wrong with that? When I could not find my friend's coats, I knew something was wrong. I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt for a possible mistake, but her "over the top" defensiveness was a red flag. She never found the new dress I had there. She said it should not matter since I was going to donate anyway! She then changed her story for my friend's coats. She first claimed that they had been donated when they consignment was expired. I said that she was thinking about the first and second consignments for my friend, and that the coats were in the third consignment at the same time with mine and that I had been there. She then changed her story again and said that ALL OF THOSE THINGS WERE TO BE DONATED, NOT SOLD, SO SHE DID NOT HAVE THEM EVEN LISTED ON THE COMPUTER!!! I told her again that I had been there and heard everything and that I had agreed to pick the items up before the expiration date of Nov. 15th. Today is the 11th. She insisted. She lied. After getting no where and seeing that she was a liar I gave up. I had been so kind to her, but the nicer I was the meaner she got. I have never been treated so horribly. My friend just called her and was told the coats were there! She changed her complete story again! People, watch out for this one. read more
