This was such a fun experience. Went there twice, once for lunch and then in the evening for some mocktails. Also had a tarot reading which was quite insightful. I had read about this little vampire store in one of our guidebooks and we happened upon it while wandering around and thought, "Why not? Where else are we going to see a vampire store?" Our guidebook said if the staff like you, they'll give you a password to a secret speakeasy but perhaps that is outdated since we also passed a vampire bar and a vampire cafe nearby. Anyway, the selection is fun for horror and vampire fans and they have enough of a selection in their small space that ranges from fun to slightly macabre. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. So my friends and I went here after our walking tour of the city, it was recommended on our tour or anything but was the perfect spot to end our night. Drinks were a bit more pricey but were crafted and made well. We got 3 different of the signature cocktails some we loved some we liked but we just wanted to try a few things. However the vibe was the best part, we went upstairs and got to site in a lovely room and hang in the comfy chairs. What a cute little vampire store! On a visit to New Orleans I just had to stop in this place on the way to our tour. It was extremely small, but packed with lots of cool items for sale. The guy working at the counter was friendly and he had on awesome music. They had many vampire & witchy themed items. From clothes to oddities to candles to collectibles, and much more! The prices were on the high end but to be expected in such a thick tourist area. I bought a few things to take home & it was a great experience. This was one of the highlights of my trip! Stopping here led to us hitting all 4 of the locations by the same owner and each one is amazing and special. We wanted to stop here because I love the vampire and witch vibes in the city. When we got there Francis was working and she is such a sweet and friendly person! She sings her boss's praises and she is also a business owner herself so she is all around bad a$$! She was kind enough to share lots of information with me including that The Originals and Vampire Diaries (CW shows) bought their vervain from them (so of course I did too) and that they filled the Jardin Gris scenes from season 1 of Originals there! If you are a True Blood fan, they have a signed photo of Pam/Kristin Bauer! We bought quite a few things here and discovered the vampire cafe next door (they have drinks in blood bags!!!) as well as the speakeasy, Potions and the Apothecary. read more

Vampires are completely my favorite thing in the world. I loved hearing stories about them with I was growing up and now I write books about them. During the ghost, vampire and voodoo tour with my bestie, we heard about Boutique Du Vampyre, and of course, I wanted to visit the next day. I don't think you're allowed to take pictures in there, but now I'm sorry I just have a picture of the outside. They had the coolest items, and finally, stuff I was super interested in. I wish I'd had more of a shopping budget, but will make sure to set some aside for just this place next year at Mardi Gras. Maybe the shopkeep is a twin of the bartender at the secret vampire bar on Bourbon? We knew that if we visited the shop, we would be provided with a password for the secret bar and the location. When we got to the bar, the bartender had the same bright red hair as the girl back at the shop. They both looked like they could be vampires lol. She was very nice and told us they had a lot of items made by local artists, which made the shop all the more appealing. I got a pair of bloody-axe earrings, dangly, which I love. They also had these t-shirts that said Carpe Noctem in shiny black print, which really catches the light (the letters are, thankfully, on a black t-shirt). They were priced higher than I usually pay for a tee, but the shirt was great quality and I loved both the words and the irridescent quality of the print. I figured why not buy a shirt I REALLY love even if the price is a bit higher. So happy I did. My favorite thing in the shop were these handmade horror baby dolls. There were zombies and ghosts and many other designs. I believe she said they started at around two hundred, and I really wished I could've taken one home. The quality was top-notch. There were many other cool items, like stakes, bottles of holy water and many vampire-themed gifts. I did pick up a vampire rubber duckie...too cute. If you love vampires, the macbre or just something off the beaten path, you must visit this shop. Next time I go, I'll make sure i have enough saved to get a tarot card reading and bring home one of those spectacular dolls! read more

I loved that you could get movie grade blood & glass bottles of holy water. I bought a locally authored & signed, first edition baby book for an upcoming shower... Dragons of New Orleans... it's adorable. I also found "Owl Riders" signed by a local author. And don't forget to do a St. Jermaine ( Zoltar ) reading. It was surprisingly accurate. PS. Just a tip: Maybe don't walk into a vampire shop while under the influence of hand grenades. You may walk out with vampire trinkets that come at a price. I managed to buy a little vampire shrunken head wine cork (I don't even drink wine that often...?) and some other sort of...head? thing. I think it wards off evil or brings good luck or keeps vampires away. One of them. The nice lady working gave me a free little temporary tattoo of something related to vampires. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, so if anyone wants a tattoo, let me know? They also have real shrunken heads here. Museum value so they're priced in the hundreds. Fortunately, I was in a decent enough mind that I said no to those, but I did put down $35 on those other two items. So basically: Don't drunk-shop. I did not even realize this hole in the wall store was here! I swear, every time I make it to the French Quarter, I see some new shop that I just have to go into. This store is a couple blocks south of Bourbon Street, one block south of Royal Street on the East side of the block. There are a lot of shops nearby that are primarily Voodoo focused, but not many with a Vampire focus. Everything in here is super cute, and I like the emphasis on the handmade items, and the staff is super friendly and love to help customers pick that one item specifically for them. Granted, I am a bit odd and lean towards the oddities in life, but this store is amazing! I will be hitting them up soon for gifts for myself (as I know of no other real Vamp or Goth people anymore). I am sure if my high school aged self had found this, all of my friends at that time would have had something from here. Candles with trinkets inside, all sorts of things to repel or attract vampires, this store has more stuff on display than it probably has room for. But, this is the great place to get accessories from for myself and I look forward to coming back. My friends that came in from out of town this last week placated me by walking in, but I did not get to enjoy this store to its fullest extent as I could tell they were uncomfortable. read more

This is the neatest little shop and I found it when I was wandering around in the French Quarter! The photos already posted are accurate but doesn't give you a real idea of the size of the boutique. It's small, but there are many things to peruse and purchase. The movie clips were really cool because you can buy film from movies like Star Wars, Interview with the Vampire, and Harry Potter. Their prices are not unreasonable for a location in the middle of a tourist area, and their products are just fun.
