This is the best nail bar I've ever been to in my life. I'm back in Seattle and I seriously can't get over how good my experience was at Nail Bar Nola. Everything from the decor, the atmosphere and staff is just opulent. I also loved the complimentary champagne while I enjoyed my deluxe pedicure. Now that I have a toddler son, my schedule to do ANYTHING for myself is random and not planned so I now come to this nail salon A LOT for a couple reasons, main one being that it's OPEN ON SUNDAY. Anytime I call, they can usually squeeze me in at the time I need which is great. I am never picky about who can take me because I'm aware I'm always calling at the last second when I get a chance to come and do a little self-care. This salon is close for me to walk to which is great as I live a couple blocks down and all the staff are great. Especially the owner Jewel, when she's in there she is always checking on everyone to see if we need anything and is ready to fill our glasses up with whatever adult beverage we want. I was in New Orleans for the weekend (July 24-26) and I made mentioned to my friend when we checked in Friday night that I need a pedicure. So, Saturday morning, I Googled nail salons near me and Nail Bar Nola came up with 2 locations. I was close to the Canal St location. I called shortly after they open and the young lady that answered was super nice and friendly and booked me for 11:00am. I started straightened up my hotel room and lost track time. I started my short walk to Canal Place and as I was waiting to cross street, the young lady I spoke with called to check to see if I was still on the way. My technician was Mymy and she is amazing! They had the nail color I normally use and usually have on me and the service was perfect. Not once did I say "Ouch" or jerk from an unintended poke. So, if you are ever in New Orleans and need nail service, check out Nail Bar Nola. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is super firendly. I have gone back and forth about writing this review bc I truly don't want to spread negativity or get anyone in trouble. However after paying for the most expensive mani pedi of my life it's been two days and I am extremely upset with the lack of quality I received. I am in town from LA where a gel mani + pedi usually costs $60-$70. Not $80 as it did here. I'm in town working so I wasn't paying attention and my toe nails were cut down to the base? After wearing heels all day yesterday I feel as if it is now an open sore where the tip of my nail should be. My finger nails were also cut unbelievably short but what upsets me the most is the lumpy gel coating that you can see and feel which is ridiculously uneven. I truly regret this choice and had to share so the next unassuming customer is aware. read more

I walked in and was greeted immediately and told they would ready for me shortly and to go wash my hands and have a seat. The vibe is relaxing and fun. When I returned from washing my hands the receptionist had given my 70 year old parents who insisted on walking me glasses of champagne. My friend had made an appointment later for a pedicure and joined me soon after. My nails were started and two had been destroyed from babysitting but the tech fixed them with an overlay as I was getting a gel overlay on all. My nails were done quickly and I opted for a micro French. I was offered champagne and able to relax. Next up were my feet, which were pampered. I wanted to recommend this place after a wonderful experience! I was looking for some pampering while my family went to the WWII museum a few blocks away. I had called and they said they could fit me in in 40 Minutes. I wanted to check it out before confirming. I'm 7 months pregnant so wanted to make sure it was well ventilated- it is- before committing. I went to walk around but came back in a few minutes (NoLa in July!) They offer champagne and wine and I elected for a bottle of cold water. The nice front desk woman invited me to wait in a nice pedicure chair instead of the benches. Ahhhh. Off to a great start!! I had the opulent (I think it's called- I went for the most deluxe one since I can't do my own toes right now) gel Pedicure and a basic manicure. Tu was my nail tech and she was great. When I was unusually sensitive to one of the products (weird prego thing I think), she was quick to ensure I was comfortable as was another tech who jumped in to help her. I didn't catch her name but she was really great and funny too. Oh the hot stones and scrub and massage made me feel like a new person! The gel manicure was also expertly done and I was happy with both. The salon is clean and prettily decorated. The clientele was nice and there was a nice banter overall. This nail shop went above and beyond for me today! Got a dip by Lucy who took her time and carefully handled my nails. I had a gel mani on some pretty weak nails along with three broken nails. She was careful in removing the old gel with out further damaging my nails and worked around my broken nails as best she could ( they were broken past the quick, eeek) she made suggestions and guided me in the right direction! (Went with tip, dip and different nail shape) Hannah was also working today and I can't say enough about the friendly and genuine service I encountered, not only by the employees but by the owner as well! Came in for a classic mani/pedi both with regular polish. I happened to walk by the salon on my way to brunch earlier in the week and made my appointment for a Sunday afternoon in person. They were also attentive over email. No complaints and my manicure and pedicure look flawless. They use OPI nail polish, which should last at least a week. They offered me a variety of beverages and I ended up enjoying a glass of champagne during my pedicure. For once, a place that doesn't push the gel polish because it lasts longer, costs more and dries faster. Thank you! I'm laughing at the reviews with complaints about charging to take off gel. Most salons charge $5 to remove gel polish. This salon is pretty average when it comes to pricing. I'm coming from the San Francisco Bay Area where everything is overpriced. It was $70 total before tip for a regular manicure and pedicure. They take card and you can add a tip. The pedicure came with a scrub and massage. My nail tech put cuticle oil on my nails and then my hands went into a plastic bag and then into a electric heated hand warmer. I have never seen this before but maybe it's similar to a paraffin wax treatment and helps soften the skin? Whatever it was, I liked it. I requested acrylic on natural nail. I already filed my nails the shape I wanted, but the tech filed them more, which made them pointier and unsymmetrical. There wasn't any cuticle prep, so the first day there's already lifting at some of the edges. The acrylic and gel top coat application wasn't clean. Product is on my skin and the nail structure is not smooth and uniform on every nail. The techs were nice and mine did the exact colors I wanted, but the service was not worth the price now that I have to go home and fix my nails. read more

I'll start with I was a walk in and was told they could get me in within 15 minutes. The space was clean and had a nice aesthetic. I opted for the opulent manicure over the classic ($10 more), at first it started great and the service was fairly good but it seemed really rushed, start to finish my whole manicure was like 20 minutes if that. My own fault for not looking at my nails while still there but looking at the now the polish doesn't go all the way to the sides or bottom of my nail. Also on some nails the corner is stopped short even though my nail is square it's like she cut the corner. Overall not a bad experience or job but definitely could have been better read more

Jewel was truly apologetic about my visit and offered several ways to address it. An owner that cares about their business and customer service as much as Jewel does makes a huge difference. Hopefully I'll be able to update this review even higher after another visit. I had such high hopes from the reviews but this was just pretty awful. Though my nail tech made an effort to be nice, the rest of the staff was borderline hostile. Scowls upon entry with no greeting then when the receptionist comes from the back her only words were "Name, wash your hands". The mimosa was a nice touch but if refills are offered, they should be offered to all customers, not just certain ones. I was told no time for a simple design on 2 fingers.
