Let's start with the positives: Spacious plots…read moreHas spots with full hook ups even through the winter (not all spots and not like I would go back to use) but great none the less. Best playground I have seen for kids at campgrounds although the kids are very loud so if you don't like loud ask for a space away from the playground. Evening shift office staff are super nice, friendly, really understand the customer service role. Full bathrooms in the main building. Cleaned daily (just avoid the cleaning lady). Gas station, convenience store and liquor store attached to the office Yards professionally maintained (maybe a little too much at times as there seemed to be mowing or weed wacking more often then not). A lot of the campers, even full timers keep spaces clean and are friendly (a lot, not all). Absolutely beautiful provincial park 7 km down the road. Honestly, there isn't A LOT I can say that isn't positive. The cons though are reasons I will never be back. Here are the cons: Its definitely the most priciest campground I have been to and their prices don't even include electricity. You pay for that once you leave. Its on the corner of two highways. The highway noise, depending on where in the Campground you are located is horrendous. The corner of the highway is known for accidents. I know of at least 5 ranging from minor to severe while I was there and I wasn't there long. The rules say one thing but a lot of people get away with breaking them, even if the office becomes aware of it but then say "we can't do anything if we don't see it." Example: not allowed to do ANY car work on the premises. The amount of car work I saw while there was astounding. Even as workers drive by and nothing is said or done. No dogs off leash or to be left outside unattended and dog poop is supposed to be picked up right away ( understandable, no complaints with the rule) but when you walk your dogs through the Campground rows, you will see a motorhome with a dog chained outside all hours of the day who barks at everyone and everything surrounded by piles of poop (but I guess the guy works there so he's exempt from that rule). Firepits. Some people are lucky where their firepit is but a lot of the firepits I saw, including mine, was so close to neighbors. Had a fire while there and decided to put it out because I didnt want to risk an ember getting lose and setting their trailer on fire (also, no covers for the firepits so hard to control fly aways). Quiet time is 11 (pretty standard, no complaints there) but despite the amount of people who work there thats living there, people are still out and loud all hours of the night and theres nothing to be done about it. I went to the pond to fish once. Its nothing spectacular. But the pond is attached to the backyard of a house there (I originally thought owner but apparently not. Definitely cranky old man though). Anyway, I was laughing and talking with my friend and I guess he was out in his backyard (maybe?). I didnt think we were that loud but he came out yelling at us to be quiet because he's trying to relax. Maybe not a great place for a man-made pond? The owner, even when around couldn't be reached. If I had a question the office couldn't answer, I was told they would ask when the owner was available and never heard back. Met a guy at the dog park though and he said that he lived there since early April and put a request in to make a deck and months later still had heard no word even though he keeps checking in so that explains something.... I already went over the evening staff being great. The morning/afternoon staff.... probably just avoid. The one lady always has this look on her face if your talking to her (not just me, I've seen how she is with others too) that looks like she just cant wait to be done with you, and her tone is really no better. Felt like I was a burden anytime I had a question. And the person who cleans the washrooms, when they clean the men's, will put a sign on the door so you dont go in. But doesn't for the women's. Got snapped at one morning on our way out to Banff because I stopped to use the washroom first. Used the key card to open the door, opened it and went to walk in and got "No! You cant use right now! Can't you see I'm cleaning?" I had hardly made it into the bathroom to even notice they were there. Almost certain they were cursing at me as I left but I couldn't completely understand with the accent. And then we decided to leave early. They do not do refunds. They use for credit towards your next stay. Even if you express you will not ever be back unless management is taken over by someone else and they clean house. And then the electricity comes off your credit card even though they have days worth of stay time left as credit.

Slum Camping with owners to match…read more Well, to say that this is a run down campground is a MASSIVE understatement. It is like camping in the slums of a third world country. The website shows NO likeness whatsoever. As you drive up to the Campground, it looks like a garbage dump or a salvage yard. The campsites are as rough. The roads have big divets from the rain with no maintenance, the sites are not maintained and are extremely ungroomed. The washroom facilities are a joke! When we checked in, we were told the power is out and the washrooms were closed but no discount. They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING! My daughter and friend went to the General Store as they watched a couple of little kids buying ice cream (which was beyond inflated pricing), gave the cashier $50 and she failed to give them change until my daughter spoke up. Shameful! We then got evicted as the owner, Stacy, thought we were a different site claiming we hadn't paid and that we had a tent on site. We did not. We were then threatened by Stacy, that the RCMP had been called which would hae been a welcome interaction but she was unwilling to discuss. We waited but the RCMP never came. We went into the office to clarify where we were then berated, name called, yelled at, threatened and sworn at by the owner. Low grade, unprofessional and need serious lessons on customer service. What a disgrace! SLUM CAMPING.......

I really enjoyed this campground…read more The weather was less than ideal, but I was happy for sheltered and warm showers and flush toilets. Spectacular views! The campground is more of a really nice parking lot. You drive up to your spot like you're parking on the curb in front of your house. It's easy. But. If you're big on site privacy there is really not so much here. Walking distance to Banff townsite. Mostly. It depends on what kind of walking or no walking you want to do. It's a good walk through the campsite, down along the road then a set of stairs. And you're there. No worries about parking in the townsite.

Honestly the saddest excuse for a campsite I have ever seen these past few years... Banff is a…read moreNATIONAL Park, it should be an example of how people all over Canada and the world get to experience what Canada's nature has to offer. Instead it has turned into a sorry excuse for a money grabbing extravaganza. The price has absolutely sky rocketed over the years, campsites are never cleaned, and snow removal seems to be non existent except for the main drive. The fire permit fee is mandatory even if you're not having a fire, and the wood is always, wet, rotten, or never properly dried in the first place. The showers have been under construction for the last two off-seasons, with no sign of anyone even working on them. Instead of a quick fix in the spring or fall, parks decides to capitalize on summer reservations, turn their profit, and not actually put it back into it facilities in a timely manner. At this point, Parks is pushing tourism to park illegally in Banff, as all they really offer is a washroom and there are several public ones readily available in the town. Parks Canada should be ashamed. This is a sad, sad excuse for a federally funded government agency. Check yourself.
