We went on the bobsleigh experience and here are the things that stuck out for me. 1. Bob sleighing is not so much of a thrill ride but an experience. You don't ever get scared , because it's over in 1 minute. 2. Depending on where you sit, you'll get different amounts of whiplash. I was placed in the back because I was tallest.....and got the most whiplash. My poor neck! 3. It's worth doing one time, but at $150 for a ride it isn't cheap. 4. They have amazing staff there, and give you $5 off beer coupons ! Yay! And a toque! Overall, if you are looking for something fun ,and different to do , this is it! #worldsworsthermit.

I went to lounge eighty eight with my husband last night to enjoy a meal and beverage while our son engaged in night time skiing. We ordered the Prime Rib burger. My burger was served very raw and I sent it back. The server let me know the customer next to me sent his back even more raw than mine. She said it wasn't the new cooks fault because the old cook didn't precook them enough for him to be able to cook properly. My new burger was burned black. See picture. I couldn't eat it. The server said since no managers were on site she could only give me 30% off my meal. She seemed genuinely concerned but couldn't do much about it. I wish people were properly trained in the Resturant business especially where food safety is concerned. I shouldn't have had to pay for a meal I couldn't eat either.

They have a new "luge experience" ride at C.O.P. It just opened this past June. The attendant at the chairlift, said it was suppose to open last summer. Okay, so for around $50.00, 4 people can take two rides up and down the hill at C.O.P. Then two more can take a third run. I purchased the "family" ride pass and that entitled us to do that as many as times as we did. You can ride a ski lift/chairlift up to the top 3 People max. to a chairlift. and a robotic arm loads your sled. It's a nice 7 min. or so ride to the top of the hill. You get a quick lesson at the top, on how to operate the sled. middle position of the handle bars, and you can go full speed. Pull back on the bar, and that's the brakes. Let go of the handle bar, and that stops the sled as well. The course itself is pretty fun, it winds itself down the hill and you can pick up some good speed. They have a couple of areas that read "slow" I sorta ignored them. Overall, I had a good time with the family doing this. I would say, if you have a couple of hours to kill one afternoon it's definitely worth the time. I also read that they have a $99.00 special for a zipline/bobsled experience. If you have older kids or a kid at heart this might be more for you. I have smallerish boys, so it was tame enough for them I will def. try it again sometime.

They also operate numerous hotels and a golf course. RCR offers poor customer service and completely ripped me off. I purchased a ISKI discount pass directly from their head office in Calgary. You have to activate the cards on their website but when I attempted to do so, it would not let me. I emailed them asking for help only to have a person named Erin reply four days later and conveniently the day following the season closure of the resort tell me they are closed for the season now so too bad, the ISKI card is now expired and non refundable. Such poor service is inexcusable and a sham. I am out $45 and received nothing in return. Deal with them at your own peril knowing their customer service will give you the run around and likely rip you off. As for me, Alberta and B.C. is spoiled for choice as far as other ski resorts go. As well, Whitefish Mountain Resort, MT is not that far from Fernie or Kimberley and offers significantly better service and value all round.

The suites themselves were clean, cozy, and equipped with the typical amenities you would expect from a timeshare. Each unit had a working mini kitchen with a microwave and stove/oven, along with appliances such as a toaster and coffeemaker. Utensils, kitchenware, and bakeware were all provided, which made it easy to prepare meals. The layout worked well for our group -- each suite had one king-sized bed, one queen-sized bed, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa. Everything was functional and comfortable. The best part of our stay was definitely the amenities. We loved having both an indoor and outdoor hot tub. The outdoor hot tub was very popular in the evenings and was usually busy when we wanted to use it, but fortunately the indoor hot tub was available and just as enjoyable. A great surprise was the dry sauna located near the indoor hot tub. We took advantage of both daily after long days exploring Banff -- especially appreciated since temperatures during our stay ranged from -13°F to 11°F. The pool is mostly outdoors with a small indoor section that connects to it. It is slightly heated, but not very warm. Given the extremely cold February weather, it would have been much more enjoyable if the water temperature had been warmer. The location is convenient, especially being close to the Canmore area. However, the property overall feels dated and could use general updating. The hallways are quite dim and would benefit from improved lighting. There were also some frustrations with the check-in process and communication that affected our first impression. Overall, while there are areas that could be improved, we really made the most of the hot tubs and sauna -- those amenities were definitely the highlight of our winter stay.

We booked a studio here, very comfortable and close to Safeway. We will definitely visit again.read more

The resort is very mountainous looking resort on the outside, in fact very inviting. This location is on the outskirts of the busy Canmore Town. With hiking trails to town or by the river. The staff very friendly and accommodating upon checkin. There is 2 levels of underground parking for guests. Upon arriving to our suite as we entered it was like entering a apartment full kitchen with counter seating for 4 and huge table, 2 bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms, washer and dryer, living room with fireplace, a balcony with BBQ. Looking over the courtyard and pool. Considering how full this resort was with guests, it's very quiet inside the unit. There is a cafe connected to the resort called Black Dog Cafe. Note: stay away it's very over priced below par food with very slow service. Better off going to Tim Hortons down the road for half the price and fresh hot breakfast. There is a cute Deli called Bohemian smoked meat Czech Deli across the street highly recommend! Freshly made sandwiches and soups. In the Garden centre of all places is a Tea house with gourmet Japanese breakfast or Lunch made fresh everyday called Wagashi. The base area is on top of the gondola although there is one narrow trail to ski all the way down (green/blue options). Gondola has a mid point stop before the top base area for the Goat's Eye lift. Fewer green and blue trails than lake Louise but has some very wide open areas with expansive rolling hills and easy tree skiing. Pretty good for beginner/intermediates. Snow condition seems to be better although on cloudy days with the vast white expanse everything could look really flat. Lodges can get very crowded during peak lunch hours. You can't carry backpacks into the lodges (smaller bags are probably ok although it's not clear). Mountain tour starts late here at 11:45 and takes 3 hours. Waiting for the bus is always a bit of a pain as they always get crowded and full and you have to wait for the next on even when arriving at the stop on time. The pick up times are far apart although sometimes on the return they do start loading 10-15 min before schedule and leave when full. Ski/board storage in luggage compartment under the bus, some have limited shelves some just in a crazy pile. On some smaller buses you just carry skis onto the bus. Might want to consider putting skis in a bag or get some protection for the bindings as they can get really tangled when loading and unloading as people don't seem to care about damaging anyone else's equipment. They still give out paper trail maps which is great as some map boards a too high up and difficult to see. Although doesn't seem to show how to ski all the way down. To do that you have to go past the gondola and ride the short Jack Rabbit lift up. The trail is 5 miles long and surface can be hard, bumpy and slick when cold and shaded.

The skills that they have learned in just 2 or 3 days each season has been great and will last a lifetime. The changes that I have seen in my youngest skier is invaluable.
