I called at 1:50 because I was running late and asked how late open -- replied 2:00. got there about 4 minutes later . brought a Raymond Weil, Movado and antique Hamilton watch to get batteries. Quick and cheap! No frills shop - everything watches/clocks. Yelp guided me to this place and I am glad I came here. There were already a few people waiting before me to be serviced but the wait was short. When it was my turn, handed over my watch and mentioned that the battery may be dead. 2 mins later I was out with a functioning watch and only $10 lighter. I paid cash rather than ask if they accept cards or not... There is plenty of parking in the lot outside, which they share with other businesses. Clearly something has happened to Michael. For well over a decade, he has been extremely nice and a pleasure to deal with, but today I had the same type of unpleasant experience that several other reviewers have had in recent months. I asked why the charge for replacing five watch batteries was almost 50% higher than the price listed on their website. He was rude, abusive, and said that the website was out of date as if it were my fault rather than theirs. All this for merely asking if the reason for the extra charge was that some of my watches required special batteries or work. Took clock here to be repaired, five months later still not done, asked the younger for a time frame, she I mean he I'll put it back together and you can just come pick it up later and then walked away. Was charged $225. for a clock that WAS NOT completely repaired. Took it elsewhere and got it back in one week completely repaired. However, recently my son who wears vintage Seiko watches was treated rudely by one of the younger sons. He actually told my son that he didn't want his business. My husband sent his Great Grandfathers watch to Bowers Watch and Clock Repair. It was needing a balance staff/double roller. He was told they would have to find the part and it could take time. He was asked DO YOU REALLY WANT IT BACK? It's NOT WORTH the cost of sending it back to you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] YES of course he wanted it back! It is a pocket watch that will be passed on to our Great Grandson. It was sent back to him, however, when he took it to another repair shop he was told that it wasn't even put back together property and it appears that they used my husbands pocket watch for parts. His pocket watch came back to him with sprung main spring, incorrect pallet fork and several screws not correct for the watch, that the original parts have been removed. Where are those parts? So instead of a couple of hundred dollars to get repaired it is probably going to cost way more. I've used them before and I had a need for my grandfather clock to be repaired again. I had a really good experience the first time around when the dad was still alive. The son, Michael, was the one I spoke with today. He wasn't happy to talk to me and sounded annoyed. He clearly wasn't having a good day and spoke painfully slowly and loudly to me like I was dense when I asked him questions. Even if I was really dense, I wouldn't think it would be in a company's best interest to be so rude to their customers. I don't feel right spending my hard-earned money with them now. read more

The proprietor was rude and dismissive from the moment I first walked into this shop to leave my watch for a battery replacement. I was told that he would call me when the watch was ready. After not hearing anything from the store for over a week, I went to pick up my watch. First the proprietor could not find the watch. Then he gave me the watch (which I expected had not had the battery replaced because he did not call me to say the work was completed). He said there was no charge. I then noted that the battery had been replaced and offered to pay for the service. He again said there was no charge. This was good because when I got home and attempted to set the date on the watch, I discovered that the stem is stuck and cannot be pulled out to set the date or the time. So my watch is broken and I will have to take it to a reputable watch repair shop if I want to be able to use it in the future. There was NOTHING wrong with the watch stem when it was left at the shop. I would urge anyone in the strongest possible terms NOT to do business with the company. read more

I went here to get some links taken out of a watch I bought on ASOS. I thought I was going to have to leave it and come back later to pick it up. But they were able to get me in and out. The older man was so sweet and very quick about downsizing my watch to fit my very small wrist. He sized it before and after just to make sure it was a true fit! There were two people working and despite the constant flow of customers coming in and out, they were very efficient. I was only charged $10 for the removal of 4 links. My boyfriend and I brought in about eight watches between the two of us that needed various battery replacements & link removals. We paid a really decent price for the services and they took almost no time at all! I would say we were there for 15 minutes tops. The only thing I will say is that the owner wasn't listening to me when I explained what services I needed for my different watches. I had four watches, two that needed links removed and two that needed battery changes. He ended up just changing the batteries in all of them and I had to reexplain the link removals I needed. Little mom and pop watch shop. Been here a few times to get a battery change. They are so nice and knowledge and never tries to rip you off. Pricing is very reasonable, usually around $10 for a battery change. The service is quick and friendly. No complaints at all. Will definitely revisit next time I need a watch fix. Do not go here! I went for a battery change on an expensive watch, per a coworkers recommendation and the guy basically ruined my watch. He had it in there for 45 minutes digging around and came out and said it had water intrusion and this piece was broken which he had a sharp instrument poking at it as he was telling me. I politely asked him to put the back on and I immediately took it to Brown and Co jewelers where I had always taken it . I was told.. "No water intrusion and broken watch from this place." The person should not be working on watches! He was unable to see or move around very well and quite frankly he should be responsible for getting this repaired or replaced. read more

*****AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS***** These guys destroyed my brand new Movado wrist watch and when I asked for an explanation (NOT compensation, just an explanation), they not only refused, but also implied I was somehow trying to scam them and told me to come back with a lawyer. I have rarely encountered such an unbelievable mix of incompetence and undue hostility in my life. Do NOT trust this shop with anything of value. Full explanation below: 2/27/21: I take my brand new Movado watch out of the box and take it to Bowers Watch Repair simply to have some links taken out of the band. The older gentleman who works the desk takes my watch in the back and doesn't come back for 15 minutes. When he returns, he's not taken the right number of links out and has to go in the back again. He returns 5 minutes later and the watch fits this time. I pay the man $10 and leave with the watch on my wrist. An hour later, not having gotten this watch wet in any way shape or form, I look down to find the watch filled with water droplets from condensation. The crown is closed firmly so I take the watch off and find clear markings on the back from having been opened with a tool. Why on earth would they need to take off the back to remove links from my watch?? The answer is they wouldn't. The shop had already closed for the day when I realized and didn't reopen until today, 3/3/21, so that's when I returned to the shop 3/3/21: I enter the shop to find a different man behind the counter and start explaining to him (very calmly, very politely) what had happened. I end my story by saying I'm not sure what to do now, and the guy snatches my watch out of my hand saying "We'll take it in the back and dry it out. He disappears for several minutes and returns with my watch, clearly having been taken apart and wiped down from the inside. I tell him that having spent 4 days filled with water, there will obviously be other issues. This man starts claiming to the original older gentleman that I'm not happy with his work and want him to buy my watch. I immediately tell them that's not what I want at all and, short of their help actually fixing my watch, just want an explanation as to why the back of my watch was ever opened in the course of removing links from the band. The older gentleman now snatches my watch from my hand and takes it to the back again. He returns moments later saying that the watch is filled with rust and has a leaky crown, therefore it's not his fault (the crown is not leaky, it's a brand new ~$1000 watch, and I specifically checked to make sure it was closed when I discovered the water. In the end, the man refused to explain to me why he opened the watch, though did not deny having done it, and repeated his coworker's claims that I should come back with a lawyer. I explained to these 2 gentlemen several times that I had no intention of suing them, would not be returning with a lawyer, did not want them to buy my watch, and frankly had no disillusion that they would be paying to fix my watch. I just wanted an explanation. These guys are crooks and nobody should ever give them their business again. read more
