Took my son here for his birthday and unfortunately it was a pretty frustrating experience. We paid $37 for one hour of bowling, but the lane took almost a full minute to reset between each bowler every single turn. Most of our paid time was spent standing around waiting on the machine instead of actually bowling. By the end of the hour, we only finished one full game and got halfway through the second. I politely asked the employees if we could at least finish the second game since the lane issues ate up so much of our time, but they did nothing to help or accommodate us. Clean bowling alley. Would definitely come back. My only complaint was that several minutes after we arrived they started playing rap/R&B music on the sound system with profanity. Didn't seem appropriate seeing as the crowd was mostly families. Clearly they could've found something more appropriate to play. read more

Charisse the Bartender is the best. The guys who work the floor & behind counter are ummm.... alright... Lol. I understand they're just doing their job but really bummed everyone's mood multiple times and yelled at us that anyone over a certain age can't use the bumpers but we had an adult with us who was very weak and is currently in chemo for cancer and they weren't very understanding. He has autism and cancer. So they are not accomodating at all for disabilities in my opinion even after we explained it to them. Also we paid for so many games and turned in our shoes because we though we were done but wanted to play one more game. So asked for the shoes back a few minutes later and they made us re-rent the shoes. All they did was spray some of them with lysol so I think it's a little much to ask us to pay rental fees all over again. Then they yelled when our relative with cancer and autism sat on the part of bowling machine where balls spit out for 10 seconds but honestly if they would have just let him bowl with the bumpers he wouldn't have needed to sit on the machine from being weak and taking extra time to line up the shots. read more

We had a fun filled couple of hours during our time at Bowling USA. Everything was in working order and we had no issues. There were four of us and we bowled two games each and the cost was a little over $50 with shoe rental. This was on a Sunday afternoon and there were several birthday parties going on which did stretch the working team members; however, none of the waiting times for their attention exceeded a couple of minutes. Nothing terrible to report at this bowling alley and we all had fun. A good time was had by all at the Bowling USA lanes. read more

We arrived shortly after a school bus full of young folks from a summer camp and were very apprehensive, BUT, the staff handled the situation very well and we had a great time with our two great-grandchildren. This place is garbage. No chance I will ever come back. We purchased two games for the group and no one could find a proper ball to fit their hands. After the first game we asked for a refund for game 2 because they could not provide a decent ball at all for anyone in the group. Manager stated it was company policy and they would not refund me. When walking in I was hit with terrible lighting and odds and ends that made up the seating options. The bowling alley is the bare minimum. You can see they are putting no investment in this place even though Slidell could use a few more places to hang that didn't include being gluttonous. I didn't eat there. Though the nachos looked standard (and those are quite often the best) the pizza the family next to us had the most frightening look. Almost like glue with pepperoni. The bars prices were around $3/beer with an apathetic bartender and a pool table without the means to play all really went well together to create a half assed establishment that could be renovated into a cool place to hang. read more

First of all, this is a bowling alley so that fact will have to color the star rating I have given. Bowling USA has some draw backs to me that are: horrid curb appeal, and bad beer selection. But when you go in there they do everything else well. The lanes are nice. The computers all work on the flat screens. There are clean enough bathrooms. There is a game room for the kids. The shoes to rent are not bad either. Considering how bad all of these things can go at a bowling alley Bowling USA does them well. It isn't a glitzy rock bowling alley. Have visited here with the grandchildren three times and staff have been friendly and helpful, they will put the bumpers up straight away for you. The only drawback is sometimes when they are busy you might have to ask for another pair of loan bowling shoes for the children, as some of the shoes have began to loose their Velcro stickiness. I go bowling here with an adult group and everyone is very friendly from the front of desk to the catering staff. I have not eaten here but have watched some of our group have toast and nachos which seem to disappear very quickly. read more

Looks like a dive from the outside. I took my niece and nephew and was all ready for sticky floors, obnoxious staff and smelly shoes! First impression when entering was that the lady behind the counter would rather be somewhere else. Took her ages to acknowledge us. Eventually we pay, get our shoes (which seemed fine) and got over to our lane. It was quiet as it was a weekday afternoon. It was clean, the rest of the staff were pleasant amd there were no malfunctions with the computer. This place is filthy ..went bowling with my family which consisted of my two year old son who was adamant about playing the video games. That area alone was enough to send you back out the door; dust and smears from previous players. Grime and who knows what else built up in the creases of the machines. Only four games working and the handhelds were black from dirt. Area also needs a serious coat of paint along with sterilization. The Caucasian lady (ponytail) ended our game early when my wife walked away to check on us, we headed back into the area and the game was over and on the title screen. We had come in with another couple who was still playing so she had to end it.. Our shoes were still in the lobby area and we did not return any shoes so I'm not sure why she would end the game.. Is really not much to look at from the outside, and the ride from the city-ugh, but I like to bowl and the husband league bowls here, so I do too. It is not cool, hip, or modern by any stretch of the imagination. The selection of beers is deplorable, and I don't even know if there is a bar. The regulars are nice in a nice enough kind of way, meaning I am an outsider and that is the way they prefer it. The lanes are nothing fancy but the score boards are on flat screen. The prices are per game per person, so if you are looking to keep costs down, that may work out better for you. read more

Decided on a whim to go bowling on a Friday night. We had a group of 5. The lady behind the counter was extremely rude when we were trying to purchase our game. She definitely lacked customer service skills. As for the actual bowling, it was ok. Our frames messed up a few times and we had to reset it, but it wasn't too bad. We managed to have a decent time, but I will definitely take the drive to visit a different bowling alley next time. read more

Bowling USA in the 80s and 90s was the place to go for bowling and entertainment, however in 2015 the place is nearly in complete disrepair and shows that ownership has given up on the center. Food is very bad and has fallen off in years compared to how awesome it was as recently as 2000. Bar is very bland and seems to be an "add on". No live music, events, etc. Arcade is in serious disrepair, pool tables are in poor condition, and games are either non functional or extremely outdated. Staff is still helpful but just doesn't seem to care, which is a shame because in the past the staff was full of nice helpful people. Prices are rising out of control and discounts are no longer given for USBC or PBA members like in the past. This is a shame as bowlers looking to improve their game will need to go elsewhere or be forced to pay in excess of $4 a game, which is insane. The lanes themselves are much better than they were in the past after having converted to synthetic in 2006 while still maintaining the old wooden approaches. The pin setters however are older than me and seem to be on their last leg, pins are being placed off set, and break down seems common. The USBC Red pattern ran here is deplorable to say the least as the shot is closer to the PBA chameleon in layout however without any consistency. The oiling machine is to blame as oil seems to be pushed where ever with minimal buffing causing what feels like large pools of oil where no oil should be, and other areas to feel almost bare. The averages across the house have fallen drastically as a result, which in a weird way is nice as it truly elevates the difficulty, however it's making it overly difficult for not just beginners and average bowlers, but professionals as well. The pro shop is dirty, filthy and has little to offer, it's a far cry from where it was in the past however I know the pro shop is being restricted by the new owners which is a shame. The current management of leagues is mind numbingly bad as leagues are being forced to reduce their size to allow "open lanes" for free bowl of which most of the time nobody comes to bowl. This reduces competition and further shows that the owners don't care and have little care. Leagues ensure money, much more so than open play, even with the higher prices, having bowled all my life and having worked in a bowling center knowing how much money the house makes from leagues this just blows my mind. The only high point is the barber shop which gets 5 stars. read more
