Definitely! A terrible experience me and a group of students came in to bowl around 9pm we paid for an hour of bowling and some shoes. When we got to our lane our table wasn't bussed there was trash and food from the previous guest, in good faith we continued to bowl and after one round all of our balls we're stuck when we noticed we told an employee and they were on it after awhile of waiting one of us decided to continue his turn (no one told us to stop bowling) and the light turned on when he threw his ball so we thought all was well, moments later a lady comes at us being extremely rude and we had no clue as to why. Apparently someone was working on the machine when he threw the ball but we had no knowledge of that. We were very apologetic toward the situation and continued our conversation when the lady left... then she came back and continued to attempt to egg us on aswell as telling us we can leave mind you our whole group was very calm this whole time.. 4minutes pass and our game gets stuck again we tell staff and stop bowling. The same lady comes back with even more attitude telling us we can happily report her unprovoked! At this point we just wanted a refund from this terrible experience we spent 50$ on the game and only got 22$ back we paid 28$ for 5min of bowling, we left and they refused to give us the name of the lady and decided to go to another bowling alley with better service. 1/10 wouldn't recommend read more

I would certainly give this place a 3.5! I choose to go with the lower rating only because I hope that management would look to the areas for growth to make this place a destination for teens to have a positive alternative experience. PRICE: I fully realize this place must have been expensive to renovate from the old Rec lanes of years ago and they are trying to collect on that bill. I also understand that they are looking to recover that cost with exclusive food options. With that said, we brought 32 teens and 5 adults to this place for just a tad over $500. We took up 8 lanes and 2 sessions of laser tag. Our whole experience lasted 2 hours. $13.85 was a reasonable price per person as a movie would have cost more than that! My only other expectation would have been allow us a time limit on the bowling vs a game limit. Some teens bowl faster than others and idle bodies get bored. Look to more pricing options. Laser tag, bowling and an arcade are great activities to engage teens! All said they had a blast with the laser tag! The bowling lanes were a bit of a challenge for me as the approaches were very sticky. The scoring machines were very easy to operate and had fun features...like snapping photos to display with your score. The arcade had a good variety of games and it was easy to load your card either at the counter or in the ATM style machine. Prizes were fine but at my age it is all just "stuff", I would prefer the "free game play" option instead of prizes! The laser tag was well explained and the clerk was able to help all having trouble putting on the gear. All who took part in the tag enjoyed it! Last thoughts - I would certainly bring a group back. The area for growth would be soda fountain for drinks because $7.99 should cover that cost. the pizza was good but a godfathers $10 pizza certainly would blow it away. My point here is, if you are going to offer just exclusive food/drink. $17.99 for a pizza and pitcher of soda is steep, then make it reasonable for larger groups. We had a splendid night of bowling and laser tag. We have a group of 9-10 kids all from out of town here at Mayo getting treatment over 3 weeks. In the spirit of getting out and having fun we came upon Bowlocity. I was able to call the day before and reserve two lanes on a Sunday afternoon. The lanes were ready on time and the staff was superb. Adding the laser-tag on really completed the day. The kids could just be kids. The adults sat back and ate a wide mix of eats. We had typical bowling alley food to include pizzas and everything known to man fried(curds, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings and pretzel bites). The fries and cheese curds were probably my favorites. By no means was the pizza amazing but it is what you would expect from a bowling alley. If you are looking to have fun, be entertained and a nice laid back ambiance make this a place to visit. read more

My sister had a birthday party for my niece of 8 years and we had a bowling alley for an hour. I got a 125. They have a good amount of lanes and great beer on tap, I had a Sierra Nevada Hazy IPA. Delish and a Surly Furious. A fun time at the alley, good prices too. read more

It's a classic bowling place with an attached arcade. There's not much to say here. There was so many tiny things that really added up to subtract from the experience though. We'll start good: they have lots of games to choose from for bowling. They have this bowling angry birds game, that was interesting since they tag specific pins to be knocked down to get points. Though the instructions weren't clear the tech was easy-to-use. It was also really easy to get bowling shoes. My complaints about this place are: people just put their shoes back into the cubby hole, and so it's unclear whether they sanitize between. Usually the floors are supposed to be greased a bit so that shoes and balls can slide, but there were patches that were not, so it's a bit of a tripping hazard. Man...this place is so hard to review because there are definitely aspects that they excel at and other areas that need some work. Being that people come here to bowl first and foremost, this place gets 4 stars. However, I encourage you to read further if you plan on reserving a room to host a party here. The good: The bowling lanes are state of the art. The scoring monitors are very neat, you can change the overlays to different themes. My favorite was the stat tracker overlay that gives you detailed stats on your game(s). The lanes were well oiled and the house balls and shoes were nice. The arcade area was a hit for kids. Most of the machines are ticket redemption games. You have to purchase a card to put money on that you then swipe on the game to play. I do wish you could use real dollars/coins on the machines - It would be more convenient for that visit where you just want to play a game or two on whim. No personal experience on the laser tag, but my friends have enjoyed it in the past. The staff were very friendly. Bartenders were capable and when we had an issue with a bowling lane (ball got stuck), an employee came right away to help. The not-so-good: We reserved the banquet room to throw a birthday party on a Saturday night. The room was spacious and clean but the food we ordered was pretty "blah". From what I could tell, the chips and salsa we ordered were bagged tostitos and canned Pace salsa. The chicken wings were very plain with some BBQ sauce on the side; there was no uniqueness to them at all, probably just thrown straight from a frozen bag into the oven or deep fryer. Went to bowlocity and ate $50 worth of food put this damn Parmesan cheese in my pizza to turn around and their be a fly in the container. I actually put it all over my fucking food and all over my kids food this is absolutely. What next will I eat a roach ? Then turns around like I put the fly in the container. I asked for a refund on the pizza then she started to cut my drink before I complained my first lemon drop was filled after I complained the second lemon drop was very short . The waitress was very irritated with my presence from the beginning of the encounter. Swanky bowling and gaming establishment, way to go Rochester! MSN has an article today that says Rochester is the 6th happiest city, and with places like this, I can see why. Laser Tag, regular bowling and fancy bowling (higher price), video games, bar/restaurant...you can't go wrong. My lady friends and I come here every time we have a girls weekend. We get an hour of bowling in the fancy/new lanes that have brand new shoes, balls, lanes, and large-giant-huge a** big screen TVs at the end of the lanes for about $10 a person (including shoe rental). You can drink your drinks, eat your foods and bowl your balls while watching the program of your choosing. They have this cool viewing area where you can watch the "behind the scenes" action of the bowling alley. It looks pretty complicated and confusing for the pins to be set and the balls to roll back to you. Kudos to the person that invented the mechanics. My only complaint - not even really a complaint, a caution - would be that the bartenders sometimes get a little cranky if you make them work. Don't expect service if you are bowling, head to the bar and get your own drink or food. Still, 5-star review because most likely you are not really interested in eating or drinking while bowling only one hour. Suggestion to management: it would be really rad if you could get a print out of your scores after your time was completed. read more

Well, more like 3.5 stars for now. We took my preteener and her friend here for an afternoon fun break. It was my first time actually staying to bowl instead of just dropping her off for a birthday party. It's a nice bowling alley, bigger and cleaner than your usual dark and grimy place (not that there's anything wrong with a nice cheap alley). The service was friendly and helpful as we tried to decide what would be the best way to order what we thought we wanted. We settled into our lane and I like how all the options are at your fingertips with the computer system and can be set per person (like bumpers up). There was lots of seating and tables at each lane. We ordered some French fries and a pitcher of soda from the bar and they were actually pretty good! I'm talking about the fries, the soda was just as I would expect it to be. It did take a while to get the order in and for it to arrive, but it kind of got there right when we were thinking, "What's taking so long, I better go check and make sure it's coming" and whoomp, there it was. They were hot and crispy and there were a ton of them for the price. Definitely the right thing to order for our group of 5. I'm sure they were some GMO, Round Up coated, laboratory engineered miracles of modern science, but such is life. It was easy for us to add time to our lane and any technical issues were fixed quickly. I wish your time would freeze while you had a work request in though, but as I said, it didn't take too long. As part of our package, we got a round of laser tag for the girls and they enjoyed that. I feel like that's a little overpriced, so I don't know if I'd let them play it very often, but since we rarely come, it was okay. They have fun running around. The arcade games are so so. I grew up in an era when arcades were still a big deal and one of my dad's favorite outings for us kids was to take us to the arcade with $5 worth of tokens, which would take hours to use! Now it takes about 5 minutes to burn through although I wouldn't even want to play any of the games here. The kids though, they don't know what they're missing. All in all we had a good time and we would likely come back if the girls wanted to. It's a modern entertainment space but otherwise very disappointing. Constant errors and computer issues with their VIP bowling lanes. The bowling balls were so greasy they would slip off my hands. After bringing the lane issues up to the staff, they said "oh yeah, we know these lanes are kind of goofy." This was especially frustrating because we reserved these lanes for my cousins 23rd birthday party. We were offered no compensation and still had to pay $60 for our party. We didn't even finish our single game because there were so many issues. Will absolutely never come back to this place and will recommend people to go else where in Rochester. read more

We were very disappointed in our service at bowlocity, particularly at the prize counter. We just got done spending a lot of money at the establishment and went to collect prizes. We walked up to an empty prize counter as the 5-6 workers were all huddled on the other side of the counter watching a video on a cell phone. A few made eye contact with us and then proceeded to ignore us. Finally a member of our group had to walk to the other side of the counter (where you rent a bowling lane) and ask for service. A worker (young looking, short brown hair with glasses) reluctantly walked over to help us only to say "be right back" and quickly walk away. Meanwhile the remaining group of 4-5 workers continued to ignore us as they watched the video on the cell phone and talked amongst themselves. The worker who was originally reluctant to help us came back and as we redeemed candy and such for our tickets he threw them on the counter while barely looking at us, paying most of his attention to the group of workers still huddled at the other end of the counter. We felt we were treated very very poorly and as a large family who spends a lot of time at the establishment, we are not planning on returning if we are going to be met with such disrespectful service. We were treated rudely by this employee as well as the others who all basically ignored our presence while on the clock. As a family in the service business, we understand the utmost importance of customer service and friendliness on the job. Not to mention the simple task of paying attention to and respecting customers who are paying a lot of money at their establishment!! We spent over a hundred dollars tonight and wouldn't even think of returning and spending that money to be met with such service! We are terribly disappointed and hope that at the least the staff be talked to about the way they treat their customers. This only pertains to the "sports" bar part of this establishment. A smallish room with 7 TeeVees hanging on the walls; all tuned to the Wild game. It's Saturday night there are a half dozen football games and the NLDS games being broadcast. But they're ALL tuned to the Wild. I politely asked to change one of the TeeVees to the Mets at Dodgers. No, someone requested the Wild and it's first come first served I am told. Sooo maybe one TeeVees can show the baseball playoffs? After all there are maybe a dozen people in the place. Nope. This review is for the bar/restaurant. We went tonight for my husbands birthday. When we walked in no one was sitting at the tables and maybe 6-7 people at the bar. We sat down and waited 15 min and no one came to the table. I thought maybe they did t have service for the table. I went to the bar and the bartender asked if we wanted menus, mind you she could see us the entire time. I asked if there was service and she said yes, but they were busy. She gave me two menus, there were three of us. My complaint, she didn't offer any drinks while we waited nor did move from behind the bar to take our order. She was just standing talking to some of the patrons around the bar. Used to enjoy going here for burgers, but would not recommend it now to anyone! read more

Bowlocity did an amazing job hosting my groom's dinner. We had the entire private space reserved for this event, which was perfect for our group. The private bowling alley is super fun! There are a variety of different bowling games to play if you want to mix things up. The laser tag and arcades were a blast as well. I highly recommend hosting an event here for whatever reason. Such a great place for families! We went there to play laser tag and I was pleasantly surprised at what a great place this was! It was very clean and nicely decorated. The laser tag is one of the best that I've seen and the equipment worked amazingly well! We didn't play any of the video games, so I am not sure how they were for pricing, but they appeared to be very well maintained. They do offer a discount if you arrive before 5pm, which is nice for large families. The only downfall was that it took awhile to get waited on in the laser tag area. read more

About the bar/bartender only. We enjoy going here as a family over the holidays when everyone gets together. It's always been great, 5 star, until today. (Nov 25th) I got there later than the rest of the group so since I didn't bowl this time I was the 'gopher'. I went to the bar area to get a pitcher and waited at the bar for service. There were a couple guys there ahead of me but I had no problem waiting. The bartender, a young woman, ignored all of us, did some work behind the bar, went out to a table, wandered through to the kitchen, came out and asked a regular if he wanted anything. She was told that no, he was in no hurry and she should help us. So, she grabbed a mug and proceeded to take her time pouring a beer, cleaning the glass off, pouring a little more, cleaned it off again and then giving it to the gentleman. She finally helped the men who were ahead of me and was so extremely rude to them it flabbergasted me! She wasn't horrible to me, but sure wasn't friendly. When I went back to join my group and mentioned it I was told that she was equally rude to them! I understand that you have rules but you are in the service industry, smiling and being polite are a huge part of that. Seriously, did you not have a happy Thanksgiving? Did you not want to work? I'm guessing work today was really bad because you sure aren't getting much in tips. (And I usually overtip because I've been there.) read more

There used to be a reasonable argument as to the premier bowling alley in Rochester, but with their renovation BEC has firmly earned that distinction. Their improvements included the addition of lasers, smoke machines, black lights, and disco balls all of which are used for the coolest of all alley functions; party bowling. It is the more fun version of bowling that doesn't require any skill or success to enjoy. I'll admit that in a normal bowling alley, my lack of bowling talent frustrates me. But when party bowling, the competitive nature of the game is removed by the spectacle created by the smoke and lights. It's the perfect place to bring your family for a night of uniquely memorable bowling. And their arcade while small, has a solid assortment of games that can entertain for hours. They have skee ball, an alien invasion shoot em up game, monopoly, whack a mole, fruit ninja on a huge high def screen, arcade style basket shooting, a skiing game controlled with ski-like foot operated controls, ghost pirate shoot em up game, and a snowmobile racing game with realistically sized and shaped snowmobile-like controller. The prizes are admittedly crappy and little more than tchotchkes to be thrown away the next day, but that is consistent with the reward systems of most arcades. Having fun while earning points to put towards candy is a pretty sweet deal in most kids minds anyway. Condensed review: REC is by far the optimal bowling experience of Rochester and the surrounding area and offers a broadly appealing combination of games and special effects bowling that is perfect for entertaining the kids or spending some quality fun time with the whole family. Oh and I forgot a very important detail LASER TAG. Just another activity the whole family can enjoy while taking a break between party bowling games. read more
