Review of Bows & Toes Kennel in Brownsburo TX ran by Judy & Steve Epperson They have reviews shut off for their FB page..so going another route. Not trying to slander...but want people to be aware of the heartache my family has had to go through. While the teacup poodles I got were adorable. They have congenital issues. Coco poodle(brown) was born Jan 24 2018, paid $4,000 for her. Her parents are Latte & Fudge At 18 months she started to have neurological issues..put on meds..at 21 months those issues disabled her, blinded her in one eye, paralyzed her, gave her seizures. MRI and neurology exams at Gulf Coast specialist revealed that she had two congenital birth defects. One, Hydrocephalus, fluid on the brain caused by her brain chambers being too large at birth and the brain fluid built up and eventually started to cause serious issues. The second congenital issue she had was Chiari Malformation of the back of the skull, causing a part of her brain to be squeezed into her spinal cord..also causing back up of spinal fluid and severe pain that could not be controlled. Called syringomyelia. She was 100% born with these malformations. We tried medicine for three weeks to see if Coco would recover enough to have any type of quality of life..but unfortunately the medicine just didn't work and there is no cure. She was humanely euthanized. She has a sister.(brown).littermate out there somewhere that I would love to connect with to see if her dog displays any of the symptoms of these conditions...early identification and treatment is key. NOW onto our second poodle from this breeder Cookie poodle...we got her in June 2019 to be a playmate for Coco. Cookie was born March 2019 also to Latte & Fudge she had two brother litter-mates...all three are browns. When I picked Cookie up she had a cough...was told it was probably a touch of kennel cough..breeder gave me some expired antibiotics...she ended up actually having aspiration pneumonia, was in the ER two days after I got her...and to the vet many times since for her chronic cough. She is now almost 9 months old and STILL coughs...mostly at night. She has some trachea malformation, collapsing trachea contributing to the cough, that she will have her whole life. I'm putting this out there, so that anyone who got a puppy from Latte & Fudge can really keep an eye on them for these conditions, and inform their vet..and also to make sure these two animals are not ever bred together again. They both should be retired from the breeding stock.
