They staff was really helpful and kind, and they price-matched the Shepherd's Journal from Disney's Atlantis book box that was 50% on their website. They were able to hold onto my items while I was out and about, and when I came back before closing, they also helped me with getting a Beauty and the Beast stained glass cosmetic bag that was up on a high shelf. I went to this BoxLunch specifically to find something to use up some free BoxLunch money. It's kind of tough going into malls anymore with online shopping but I really didn't want to spend the extra money for free shipping. Since this store is relatively close by, I decided maybe it was a good day to do some in person shopping. In short, not a large spot, but friendly workers, pretty good/solid selection, but parking can be a bit crazy depending on the area you want to park. L O C A T I O N BoxLunch is located inside NewPark Mall. Parking can be tricky. If you go to the Mall Entrance near the newer parts of the mall, it's a bit packed because it's fighting with all the restaurants and 24 Hour Fitness. You could park closer to Macy's and just walk through to get to it. The parking garage would've made sense but now it's kind of impacted and full due to Costco. So take your pick. The actual shop is in the relative "center" of the mall near-ish Macy's. I N S I D E BoxLunch is definitely Hot Topic like and I believe has been acquired by them so if you can't find something at BoxLunch, look at Hot Topic. Everything is laid out by show or franchise. The Clearance area is in the back which can lead to pretty good deals. Also it being near Christmas, BoxLunch runs a few more deals like Buy One Get One 50% off. I found a hat for a nephew that was about $15 on clearance and I had $10 off so it was about $5 in the end which is great! Again it's a hit or miss in the clearance area. You can always search online first then see what you can find in the store. If you're looking for something specific, I believe they have a "in store" finder on their website though not sure how accurate that is. S E R V I C E Folks in the store asked if we needed any help as well and reminded us if we wanted to take advantage of the deals that were running in the store. We easily paid by credit card. Pretty solid Box Lunch! Came here after Christmas on New Year's Eve and they were having a 70% off sale of their clearance section. MAD SAVINGS to be honest. I can't comment on shopping here during regular times and how their stock is but I had a great time shopping their sales. Got a huge discount on Her Universe Ghibli clothing and items such as Kiki's Delivery Service shirts and a sweater, as well as a woven Princess Mononoke throw blanket (reduced to $8), Poke'mon and Gloomy Bear shirts, Honeymaru and Squishmallow plushies (full size), and so much more. They don't have shopping baskets here, but the workers at the cashier are more than happy to hold your items for you when you shop. read more

My wife and I came into this store on Sept 7 to browse and found many things we loved. We left with some Disney clothes, pins, and stickers which were reasonably priced. Great service, selection, and value here! Also, there are often sales and coupons that you can leverage for a better deal. Their clearance section also usually has some good deals/finds too. We also wanted to recognize Lillie for her awesome and helpful service. She kindly and patiently helped clear up the confusion we had about stacking codes/coupons and enabled us to get a great deal on the items we purchased. I need to say that I got to the BoxLunch game late. I'm a massive Disneyland pin trader and Jansport junkie and for years have wanted a Winnie the Pooh backpack. But I never love the Loungefly designs I see in the park. I either don't love the color (I refuse to spend 3 times the cost of a mini Jansport for something that's white on the bottom) or the designs just aren't my thing. But a few months back I realized BoxLunch had tradable Disney Pins - so I've been lurking ever since. This time around BoxLunch was running a 30% sale and after poking around their site I discovered I absolutely adored Danielle Nicole's designs. So I pulled the trigger on an adorable Winnie the Pooh card holder and backpack (only twice the cost of a mini Jansport) and of course a few Disney pins. While I didn't love that you weren't able to combine coupon codes and sales, their prices were quite reasonable. I'm honestly curious to see how the bag holds up as when I received it, it looked great but the zipper was pretty suspect. I honestly expect it to break after short term use, but we'll have to see how it goes. Since Jansport has a lifetime warranty and I've never had one of their mini bags rip on me, if that does happen I'll likely go back to Jasnsport. Of the pins I got (2 blind), all were super cute. They of course don't come with mickey backs, but that's easily fixable if you purchase the backs separately. And, while they aren't advertised for trading, you can trade them at DL or WDW. They have a Disney copyright and are officially licensed, the back just doesn't list a Disney Pin Trading logo. All in all I'm fairly happy with my purchases and definitely plan to shop at Box Lunch again. read more

BoxLunch was a revelation. it isn't food related. they have an eclectic mix of artisan candy nibbles, collectibles, hobby sets, tv/movie themed clothing, lunch boxes, etc. -not a fan because i don't view any tv, few franchised movies? "give us your lunch money" reads the standing board in front. didn't see pricing on the artisan specialty candies, small portions. glad i wasn't interested in any gummi, hi chews, japanese type candies. friendly associate(s). in the future, if i need something they have, i know where to look. read more

Staff are so lazy. Instead of consistently managing the number of customers in the store, they wait for all of them to leave before letting more in. The girl at the door was playing Pokémon go and completely ignored us as we waited 10+ min to go in. Came here to exchange my Jasmine kimono to a different size and I was so happy to see they carry an XS. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. The girl that helped me to the dressing room was nice. I got in there right away with no problems. The guy associate that helped me exchange is what the negative stars are for. He asked me if I was exchanging for the same size. Ah, WTF?! Why the hell would they be the same size?! If they were, I wouldn't be in this store doing this exchange! When I corrected him, he looked at me and said I was "good to go." Lol!! What the hell? Is this guy a joke?! How the hell did this guy get this job?!! I told him I needed a receipt and then he finally proceeded to go through the transaction as normal. I got my receipt and left. This store went from being the best store to the worst in the past month. Rules for new releases as posted are First come first serve NO HOLDS. I drove an hour to get here early and was first in line. I entered the store and grabbed two of the bags I wanted. A man walked up to me and grabbed the last one off of the shelf and then grabbed one of mine out of my hands and said "I'm buying two". I tried grabbing it back and the worker Alondra just stood there and did NOTHING. He then started screaming at me then his wife joined in. Apparently nobody at this location will pick up the phone. I have tried calling every day for the past 2 weeks to see if an order I made online has shipped to this location yet. Nobody has picked up yet. The phone rings and rings and rings and rings indefinitely. No option to leave a voicemail. Online is no better. I have an order #, but no shipping/tracking #. I called the online number for help but all I get is an employee that keeps telling me to keep waiting for an email that will supposedly be sent when it ships. 2 weeks later...no email. read more

I was shopping at the Newpark Mall (Newark, CA) location with my husband today. We were taking a look at the figurines by the cashier and asked politely if there were any more of a specific figure in the back. The manager rudely replied with an attitude "Yeah, why?" and continues to converse with his employee. What was supposed to be a nice day out turned sour in a few seconds from this experience. We weren't rude, we were walking around the store nicely and this manager (Murphy) caught us so off guard. We quickly left without our intended purpose. WARNING!!!! not fall for their 50% sale on second item. I ws there Sunday 8-18 buying something. The personable salesman told me I could buy anything elese at 50%. I was excited. I found a cute backpack and took it to counter. I asked the salesgirl if I indeed could buy the back pack at 50%. Of course she told me. However when she ranf up my purchase the amount was less than the %0% off which increased my bill. I quesioned her and she said for the cash register ease each item is doscounted 25% to equal the 50% off. I told her this is not what both sales people told me. She just ignored my comment. If there's anything that this store sells more than anything they get money for, it's pure kindness! I came in a while ago because my wife LOVES the Aristocats and they had just released a couple loungefly Marie backpacks but had sold out. I was speaking with one of the managers and she said the closest one available was in Roseville, and her parents lived there, so she literally wrote down my number and went to visit her parents, picked up one of the backpacks and brought it back for me to purchase. Who even does that?! That's the definition of going above and beyond for the customer! Everyone else there is so sweet and they have helped me quite a few times to find cute stuff for my wife and my soon to be little girl. It's just such a great place and yeah it ain't a cheap store, but it really seems like they care about people here and that means the world to me. read more

Purchased several funko pops and other items for Christmas but needed to return two funko pops prior to Christmas. I had the receipts but was told they wouldn't refund me because it was out of the 7 day return window. I was stunned since I was not told about this ridiculous return policy at time of purchase. The worker said they try to tell customers but "trying" is not good enough because I would not have purchased them if I couldn't return them in the normal return policy timeframe. Why can I return other items in a normal timeframe? I then had to ask if I could get store credit which she said she could do (why that option wasn't offered by the worker is beyond me). So then she asked for my name and phone number. I told her I don't give out my phone number and she literally pushed the Funko pops towards me and said well I cannot do this refund with anger in her voice. At this point I am upset with her unprofessional behavior and frankly embarrassed by her emotional outburst that was completely unwarranted. I hate stores that steal your money especially now while everyone is struggling to get by. Train your workers better because you've lost this customer. read more

The only reason I gave one star is because I couldn't leave zero. I've recently been in contact with Box Lunch about working there. I have scheduled an interview with the hiring manager Derek TWO TIMES now both of which he never showed up to. Everytime I called back to reschedule he was very rude about it and tried to blame in on a scheduling error on my part. Will not be calling back, will definitely not be a customer.
