After reading reviews I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did. They were all so nice from the very first phone call. They treated my pupper with kindness, respect and compassion. The Dr. was so thorough and explained everything. It turned out one of her hips was like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. She was in pain when we went in and during our visit had a clear picture of what to expect in her future. 3 days later she was pretty much back to her old self. They were all so wonderful I decided to bring the other 2 dogs to make sure they were in good shape. Definitely would recommend them. They were so very different from the vets in Indiana. Keep up the great work and superior service!

Probably floats the area from vet to vet. They "pretend" to listen. Dont always reply to questions. Overbook. Keep looking lots of vets in Lubbock. Very disturbing. Gave lots of chances. Sad its such a mess !

My son and I are victims of domestic violence that's still happening today. In February of 2024,…read moreabout a week after I started a new job, after being unemployed for about 7 months, one of our emotional support cats, Lucky, was sick so we took him to this vet clinic. They completely refused to work with us at all with the cost of the surgery that he needed. And my credit was horrible. So they coerced us into surrendering him. Then they killed him. About 2 months later, we were homeless. From April 2024 to February 2025. In July of 2024, we had to put our other emotional support cat down. He was 18 years old and he was suffering. So after that, we didn't have any emotional support cats to help us through that extremely difficult time. We're still extremely heartbroken and furious about how HORRIBLE we were treated at Live Oak and we honestly don't trust vets anymore because of them. It's extremely cruel to steal someone's emotional support cat in the first place but instead of caring for him, they killed him. After finally being able to move into a home in February of 2025, we rescued 2 new emotional support cats. We could've had them both spayed for free through a voucher program through the pound. But we would've had to take them to Live Oak. There's absolutely no way that we will trust them ever again!!! We were able to get them both spayed at P.E.T.S. Clinic. And yes, we paid for both of them to be spayed. Live Oak claimed that we didn't try to get financial assistance. Of course I did, even though I knew I would be denied because my credit was bad. And if we could've afforded the $1400 surgery for Lucky, then we wouldn't have ended up homeless like we did. And they completely refused any donations towards the cost of Lucky's vet bill from people after I posted about the situation on Facebook so that we could get him back. That's how EVIL these people are!!!! They thought we didn't care and didn't try to find a way to afford the $1400 surgery even though we ended up homeless less than 2 months later, on April 1, 2024. And NO, that is NOT an April Fools joke!!!! I also was so upset and stressed out that I passed out at the duplex that we were renting at the time, we were renting it through McDougal and they refused to renew our lease, and I was taken to Covenant in an ambulance. Because my credit was bad, no one else would rent to us, so we ended up homeless. I received a good amount of money for my tax refund. I knew that Live Oak wouldn't give Lucky back to us, even if we could pay them back. When we became homeless, we stayed in some hotels for awhile. We were supposed to rent an apartment at Stonebridge at Ironton, but they denied our applications because we couldn't afford a 2 bedroom apartment and we requested a one bedroom apartment. After we ran out of money from my tax refund, we stayed at the Salvation Army. We lied to them about my son's age because he's gay and he wouldn't have been safe in the men's shelter. Even before they found out that we lied about my son's age, they bullied and harassed us the entire time that we were there. And they absolutely refused to help us improve our situation, like they're supposed to and claim they do. We've had to completely cut all of our entire "family" out of our lives and disowned them for our safety. My former "brother" is extremely similar to David Koresh with his brainwashing capabilities and his ginormous fake persona. So our family now is me, my son, and our 2 emotional support cats. Our cats aren't just cats. They're our babies and our only family!!!!! And Live Oak intentionally killed one of our babies, our family.

Sis, did not have a car to get Sugar to a vet right away, so I took to yelp to find a reputable place to take her as soon I got back in town 2 days later. In the meantime, my Sister did her best to brace the leg, in case it was broken and made Sugar a comfortable as possible. I get home and take Sugar to her appointment with Dr. Linn. She takes one look at the leg, which his a little swollen, and states that she has no problem taking an X-ray of the leg, but to save me some money, she refers me to the Live Oak Animal Hospital down the road, since her in house orthopedic vet is actually on vacation. She basically did not want to charge me for an X-ray if it was possibly broken and there was no one that specialized in broken bones there to really help. She gave me the number to Live Oaks and explained that they were usually pretty busy but because they were a larger capacity animal hospital, with more orthopedic specialists on hand, they would be better equipped to help. Dr. Linn and her staff did not even charge me for the consult so that impressed me that they were not out to do a quick cash grab. I would certainly go back to this office again for regular vet needs for Sugar since they were so kind and empathetic.

Dr. Justin Propp prescribed Bella gabapentin & advised an MRI as the next step. Luckily, once home w/Bella in NM, we were able to smell that the gabapentin had a sweet grape aroma. While some sweeteners are harmless to humans such as xylitol, it's quite the opposite when it comes to animals. Xylitol is TOXIC to them; likely causing seizures, permanent brain damage & death. W/out knowing if this smell was a harmless sweetener or poison, on 30 Apr 2020 we emailed amcLbkwebsite@gmail.com & directly asked if the gabapentin they gave Bella contained xylitol. On 31 Apr 2020 we received an email response stating, "So I spoke with our Office Manager and he stated that the Gabapentin Oral Suspension does contain Xylitol but at such a low dose that it is not toxic to the patient taking it. We have been using it for a long time with no issues regarding our patients." At the time, I was so consumed with getting Bella into a neurologist during Covid that it didn't even cross my mind to leave a review which could have prevented another fur baby parent from having to deal with this. Bella at the time was 3.5LBS (she's now 4lbs) so ANYTHING toxic would be absolutely more dangerous to a small animal - similar to how birds die from PTFE DUE TO THEIR SIZE. Regardless, gabapentin is a great nerve pain medication, anti anxiety, as well as anti-seizure medication for pets. The danger when adding toxic xylitol is that it affects animals by likely causing seizures. So the worst thing you could do for a pet who is having seizures is to give them gabapentin containing xylitol. Likely to cause more seizures, & if you don't know there's xylitol in it & you increase the dose &/or frequency, the seizures will likely increase in parallel. *Bella wasn't having seizures, but I'm pointing this out in the event that anyone reading this [current or future client] w/a pet having seizures could at least be aware of this life saving detail. So regardless if a pet is 4lbs or 40lbs, gabapentin should NOT be given if it contains xylitol PERIOD. Don't let anyone downplay the danger of xylitol. Like if someone said (after the fact not upfront) "oh it's just a little crack cocaine, not a big deal - we put it in the kid's pb&js all the time w/no issues, you'd probably have them taken to court. It's not that different. There is AMPLE reputable literature educating us on the dangers of xylitol to animals. Granted, this was 3 yrs ago so hopefully this vet doesn't carry toxic medication anymore. Hopefully they aren't giving anything toxic to unknowing pet owners (such as in our case) which essentially is poisoning our own pet without knowing it. My concern & reason for writing this 3 years later is the guilt I already feel hoping this didn't happen to someone else who wasn't as lucky & didn't know to ask if xylitol was in their pet's medication. Or maybe they did ask like we did & they got the same answer, trusted & believed the irresponsible response from doctors & staff here stating a little xylitol isn't a big deal, it's given to their patients all the time. I'm not angry. I'm not reviewing any other part of the service Bella had that day because the x-rays turned out great. This is solely to inform any current or future unsuspecting pet parent about the danger of xylitol & the attitude the Lubbock doctor & staff of mar 2020 had at the time: 1.) having a non pet safe formula 2.) the vet prescribing gabapentin knowing it contained xylitol despite Bella's weight 3.5 lbs & 3.) receptionist & office manager both confirming the xylitol in Bella's gabapentin wasn't a big deal. I thank Jesus daily for Bella who is 12 years young going on 13 come Sept 2023 -- living her best life despite having Chiari Malformation & Syringomyelia.
