They were understaffed. I was one of a few people the employee was helping, which led to long wait times in between shoes. The employee also kept bringing me shoes that didn't fit (after I told him my size), with features I had already told him I didn't want. After bringing me three pairs to try on (none of which I liked), he told me to try looking online. Not helpful, dude. Maybe on a slower day I would have had a better experience. read more

I went here hoping to find new sneakers for a trip through Yellowstone as the ones I had with me from home were uncomfortable and tight. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by Ben and I explained the issues I was having. I asked to try on a pair of New Balance and he said I could but he had a pair that he thought would be better for me as I had explained I needed something with a bigger toe box. Well I couldn't even get the NB ones on because they were too tight however, the pair Ben wanted me to try on (Brooks) were comfortable and he was right, they were the sneaker I needed! I'm now two days into my trip and am able to enjoy it without my feet hurting me. It was nice to find a store with such helpful employees! read more

I have bought a number of pairs of shoes from the Bozeman running company. They have always been super helpful and kind. Not so much today. July 3rd 2021. The guy that was working made me feel like a complete idiot. Like I was someone who has never ran in their life and was asking stupid questions. He was rude. I was in there with my baby just trying to get some info on a couple different brands of shoes and I eventually just walked away. Like I said, he made me feel super uncomfortable and dumb. So sad because I am born and raised in bozeman and would really like to support the local companies. read more

Exceptional service! Staff is super knowledgable about what they carry and they are all super helpful. I purchased some new trail shoes from them a couple weeks ago which felt amazing in the store and on a couple of town runs. I took my new shoes on their first trail run, to Saddle Peak, and I decided they weren't the right shoe for me. I felt bad bringing back a pair of shoes with 20 miles on them, I was hoping for a bit of a deal on a different pair. Instead of just giving me a deal, the pair that wasn't right for me was swapped for a better pair, no questions asked. You don't get service or help like this online or from pretty much any other shoe retailer in Bozeman. You guys have a customer for life now, thanks! read more

I went in after work to get myself a proper pair of running shoes. I knew the importance of getting fitted properly for a pair of running shoes and after reading the raving reviews on Yelp, I decided to stop in. I was greeted by Cassidee who totally made my experience as easy and pleasant as possible. She was very patient and took her time with me, observing my gait and how I walked and had a few choices for me to try on. It was apparent that she was also very knowledgeable in the different features each brand of shoe offered and provided some great information to allow me to make a great decision. I can't be more positive about the BRC. Up until late January, I had never been to Montana and had a few hours after landing to go running. I called them and visited their store to get a few things. They pointed me to some great local trails and had the time of my life. I find that it is very important for a local running store to have staff who not only run but know where to run. Went into BRC to grab a new pair of running shoes. Jenny began assisting me right away. She diagnosed my walk/form/feet and began bringing out a variety of different looks, brands, and types of shoes. She was very patient with me as I tried on at least ten different pairs until I found the perfect ones. They have a treadmill in the store to allow you fully try out each pair. The price on Yelp says $$$ however I felt the price I paid for my pair of Nikes was fair market price. Will definitely return whenever I am needing my next pair of shoes! read more

Nothing but good things to say about this store. We went in at the tail end of Black Friday, experienced excellent service and left with quality products. The staff were very knowledgeable and were sure to hook us up with all the discounts they could think of. Each time I put on my new running shoes, I am so happy I made the purchase. I have been a fan of Bozeman Running Company for a few years now, enjoying the experience that I have had almost every time I have visited. I have enjoyed working with some of the same people every time feeling as if they always knew what they were talking about with any question that I may had about running and gear. The last time I visited I was very disappointed. When I walked into the store I was hardly welcomed by the gentleman at the front desk (whom I had never seen before), never being asked if I need any assistance. When looking at shoes another employee walked by me without seeing if she could help me. After looking at the shoes for a few minutes I asked if I could be helped, the female did come over and answer my questions but never went into detail (as if she had somewhere to be). I couldn't stand the service so decided to leave. Like I said in the beginning I had always been a fan of the store but after this experience I feel like the employees should be more knowledgeable about the product that they carry. I think the Bozeman Running Company is great for those who have a standard foot size. Unfortunately, I do not have a standard size foot. Several weeks ago they were going to order a wider size for me. After not hearing for 2 1/2 weeks, the shoes were not ordered. Next, they told me that the size I needed didn't seem to be available. They promised to expedite the next width available. I have not received a call in over a week. I decided to order the same shoe from an online store in the width that I wanted. I received the shoes the next day. Also, the Oofos they recommended are not easy to go for a walk while wearing, at least for me. They are way overpriced flip flops in my opinion. This store was very unfriendly and not organized! I was not impressed with the customer service at all. I walked in and no one acknowledged me. I was in the market for a new pair of running shoes and heard this was the place to go. Well this store lost my business. Don't bother going here.
