Seriously make sure you're 100% on your purchase. I tried to return a jacket that I realized didn't fit me good after walking down the sidewalk. Not only wouldn't they return the jacket with the receipt. They wouldn't do a straight exchange for something else. Neither the person working the counter nor the manager on duty was willing to help me. Trust me, there are plenty of other places along Main Street here in Bozeman. Take your business elsewhere. They had some really good deals on clearance shoes and skis. I was surprised some of the off toad bikes were thousands of dollars the nice thing is they had a big selection and also repaired bikes also skis. The stores right on Main Street if your in the area it's worth stopping in. Good selection of hiking boots too. read more

Renting a town bike from Chalet Sports and taking advantage of the store's location was a great experience. Main St and South Wilson Avenue are great routes with bike lanes and long stretches of paved and marked bike lanes. I was able to link up to MSU campus and travel to the extreme northeast corner of the campus and back towards city center to find Peet's Hill and Burk Park for a nice ride. Especially nice is the cheerful and helpful staff that get you quickly set up for a bike, helmet and cable lock. It was an easy and affordable rent. read more

Great selection of ski gear and great boots BUT Purchased myself a nice new pair of Nordica ski boots, some socks etc and rented my daughter and son skis and boots for a few days. Once we arrived in Big Sky her boots wouldn't stay fastened we tried and tried so we had to rent a new pair there. When we returned the rentals to Chalet sports a few days later and told them about the malfunctioning pair of boots we got attitude from a staff member, basically accusing me of trying to score a free rental. WOW! After spending $1100+ Im making the story up and hoping for a refund of a pair of rental boots? So many places in Bozeman to rent ski gear wont be back to this one. read more

Super friendly staff here at Chalet Sports! We had a great bike ride around town and the neighborhood on comfortable lightweight bikes. The staff helped us pick a trail and we toured around for about 90 minutes and it was great. Bike paths in the area are close by and a good viewpoint up atop a hiking/biking path. Generally I find service all throughout the town absolutely reeks. But these Chalet Sports guys and gals are tremendous and totally buck the norm of garbage service that's synonymous with living in a tourist spot. Super friendly staff. Last night I popped in for a cross country equipment rental and the place was a total zoo. Those employees rapidly helped everyone quickly and very helpful. Today I returned and again super awesome staff helped me. They also didn't fleece me for the cost of renting only $15 and I hope they know how much it is appreciated for keeping it reasonable. I will put more of my sports money into shopping here. read more

A very nice shop. I came here for a few tubes and a bike lock for my daughter who is starting at MSU. The bike technicians in the back were very knowledgable and friendly, but I can't give them five stars because of the awful service at the front counter. They almost acted as if it was an inconvenience to take my money! No smiles-almost would be better to have a self-checkout with a mirror-then at least I could give myself a smile! I don't expect over-the-top gushiness, but just your basic pleasantness would be fine. Also, I had to ask for a bag for my items. Not sure if this is intentional since some places are trying to cut down on bags, but there was no mention of that. read more

Great place to shop for all seasons. Was looking for a new pair of backcountry skis and demoed a bunch of pairs over the past two seasons at Chalet. They were really knowledgable and helped point me in the right direction with skis, bindings, poles, etc. I cannot stress enough how much I love coming to get advice on the the newest gear out there. I especially like talking to girl Sammy. Her knowledge and years of experience has been a great asset to me. read more

I rented basic skis, poles, and boots for 3 days and it was $90. That's about what you'd pay at the mountains so I think next time I'd rent daily. The rental process was quick and the employees were very helpful. read more

Why do I rank them a one ...because of the worst customer service I have had in years. I have been shopping at the store for several years ,always a great selection of clothes and brands you cannot find elsewhere. The two young girls working today were a joke. probably should've called the manager. One girl tried on sunglasses and said how awesome she looked in it and the other girl was texting on her phone. They never looked at me.I was never acknowledged , I needed help, I bought something I immediately needed and walked downtown the street to Roundhouse. WOW. That was customer service. By the way I was buying 5 ski jackets. Roundhouse got the business. This the second time in one yr of poor service. Bye bye. read more

Rented a very nice hard tail mountain bike for the afternoon from here. Ben and the crew were great and gave me a great bike that I rode from 1-7pm and had until 8 if I wasn't so tired by 7! Will return for my next Bozeman bike ride! read more

My favorite shop in town. We get ski gear here frequently. Staff has always been helpful. I naively thought my kids needed new gear/bigger size skis and they reassured me that they didn't. I go in thinking I'm gonna drop serious money , and walk out just renting one pair of boots for the season. sweet. read more

Purchased a tire over the phone telling them I would be having my mom drive from Livingston to get it. They sold it to me and my mom went and picked it up. Brought the tire to me and it was the wrong size. I called and they informed me they had to sell the tire they sold me as a pair to a customer that came in befor...e my mom got there. Needed an emergency repair at 9AM. Brought the bike in, they started right away, and we were done in 20 minutes. Super nice staff and the repair was not expensive either. Would definitely recommend. (Note I called it inexpensive based on the repair price, not based on their gear. The gear I saw seemed crazy expensive to me, although I hear that's the way it is these days.) read more

When a customer approaches asking questions around products that are $250+ take a few minutes to be interested and show a little enthusiasm. I have never had a bad experience with Chalet, nor have I ever felt as if a sales associate were pushing me into a high-end product simply for the sake of the sale.
