I arrived for a scheduled emergency visit to deal with an abscess, and spent a total of 4 minutes with the doctor in the room. "I'll be right back" was said about 7 times. He sliced the abscess, left the room for 30 minutes with soaking wet gauze in my mouth, with the excess dripping all over my clothing, then made zero attempt to clean, disinfect, or even have me rinse. They sent me on my way feeling like i was robbed.The entire experience crossed the border of 'sanitary' by a wide mile. Against my better judgement, I made the follow-up appointment to extract the tooth, and they refused service the day of the appointment. The lack of sanitation, professionalism, or anything close to attentiveness is disturbing. Stay away from this dirty dollar grab.

I felt so comfortable and it was actually fun seeing Dr. Christie Dr Drane and Kristen every few weeks. Then I meet Dr. Mark Forward and the transition started and now here I am with a new smile. Sometimes my braces needed adjustment when I saw him and he would adjust them and joke about helping his father during the summers with orthodontics. His staff and assistants made me feel so welcome, I felt so safe and I felt I belonged to the "family". After Dr. Forward finished my new smile, I immediately went to Dr Christie to show her. Much to my surprise, Dr. Rose completed the procedure without me feeling one single ounce of pain. Honestly I've had teeth cleanings that hurt more than what he did to me today. It took about 30 minutes and I got to watch Leave it to Beaver on the TV while he worked. Dr. Rose gets an A+ for his gentle hand and sensitivity to my fears. Dentist said that I needed to get my old fillings replaced as they were "leaking" and could be further damage. I had a dentist verbalize this to me previously as something that may come up in the future so I wasn't too alarmed. "We aren't doing anything today, we will schedule you for two appointments in the future where we can replace these old ones and we will clean your teeth then". I felt a little surprised and suddenly rushed and wish I had said something then, but didn't. It didn't feel right. What I find disappointing in hindsight is that my X-ray results were never reviewed with me, that absolutely nothing was done the first appointment even though I had taken time off to be there and the expectation that I will take even more time off for these services. If nothing else I felt like my time was not respected; the time I had to take off from work, to get there, and then schedule additional appointments. If this is how they run things then it should be clarified that the first appointment is a "CONSULTATION" and that it is likely that no work will take place. I suspect they make a little extra by breaking up the visits this way and that may be the motivation behind it or the doctor was running behind and punted.

Skip to 2016, I'm an adult now and I went to three different Orthodontist for consultations this year. Stoutland and Hayes were the ones that I chose because they were 1) location was near my home, 2) they did not rush me and I didn't feel pressured 3) extremely informative on what type of braces I would get/want. 4) Friendly and nice. 5) best price. I ended up getting my metal braces and it's been about 5 months so far and I'm seeing improvements with my teeth, I have 1 year and 6 months to go. I'm excited because every month, I get to see my bite being fixed and my gaps closed quickly because of the braces. All of the doctors there are gentle and never rushing when switching out my bands or wires for my braces. I also would like to say that Lisa, the front desk woman, is great!!! I usually need to make a new appointment every month because of my job schedule and she helps me with that. I feel bad that I need to change the time/dates 3 times a month to work with my working schedule. SO I do appreciate everything she does. Parking is easy and you can park in the back of their Ridley office. They also have another location in Chadds Ford and they have a huge parking lot too. The Ridley location always has discounts/ games that you can play to win stuff. Just check their website. .....All that said, I'd definitely recommend anyone to come to Stoutland and Hayes.
