For Olney locals, like myself, who have lived here from the late 80's till now, many know the Fletchers Auto station right on the corner of Georgia Ave and Spartan Rd that's attached to the BP. My family and I have gone there to get work done on various vehicles and of course, get our gas, which we like to support our local shops and community. I bring this up because as a local here, who has seen this area change from what it was back in the late 80's and the services of our local shops, that don't have that same service and honor that the originally owners had and started on the basis of what is on their website : About Fletcher's Welcome to Fletcher's Service Center and Car Wash. A family owned and operated business since 1959. Well, today 4/16/18 around 930am after having my car towed there yesterday late afternoon from the corner of the Georgia Ave and Rt 108 (less than 1000ft away), I decided to call Fletcher's to see whether or not my car was actually there and had been checked in. I start my story yesterday around 530pm, I had walked inside BP to speak to someone about borrowing a pair of jumper cables to try and jump my car as the ones I had seemed to not work. I saw this young guy, John, who was sitting behind the counter and asked if he could assist me because he looked like the tow truck driver. He was nice enough to follow me just a few secs away to my car and get a jump box connected to it. After a few mins of messing with it, we had no luck. John asked me if I wanted it towed, so I said, "Sure. Just tow it Fletcher's." John hooked up the car and took my key and I gave him a business card with my info and spelling of my name because people usually mess it up. I knew it would be easier to get with the cold and wet rain coming down. I had no problem trusting him, as he didn't mention anything about pricing or fees and no paperwork or walk around of the vehicle was given to me, so I gave him a tip for his help. As a local to Olney, I just trusted it would be taken care of and looked at from his techs the next day when business hours were open. Again, I figured I would get a phone call from a service advisor with some sort of "Hello, this is ______, I see we have your vehicle here......." early in the morning, but I didn't. Instead, I received a long 22min wait on hold from Ted, who answered the phone. He came back on the phone after almost 22mins and apologized, but again after this long of a wait, I was getting heated. I asked if he had received my car and whether it was checked in yet? He said he knew about it, but wasn't sure if they were going to be able to get it or not. He then quickly mentioned the costs, the diag fee for half an hour and the possibility of more diag needed also, which I understood. The part that gets to me was the tow bill that was added quickly in the convo, as there was no mention about this fee at any time from John, the tow guy. I quickly asked, "what do you mean tow bill? John never mentioned a cost and that's why I tipped him." I was now getting more heated, but still polite after this point.... As I repeated everything that Ted had mentioned back to him to make sure I was correct in hearing him, I started to realize that this local business was starting to grow bigger than they can handle. They don't have enough staff to provide the proper service their customers deserve for being part of this community (as I could hear the phones were still ringing in the background, but no one there to answer the phones except for Ted ). This is one of the best gas stations in the county. First of all they are not Exxon or Mobil (planet killers), secondly they are run on almost 100% solar power. They have solar panels on their roof and that powers their entire facility. It is almost that they realize they are killing the planet by selling gasoline and are trying to off set that. There gas is a little more expensive then everybody else, but to support a family owned business, and support a place that is willing to use solar power, I am in. Whether you need gas, a car wash or a milk shake, Fletcher's is awesome. Everyone is always amazed when we tell them how good the deli is inside, but the food they make to order, is awesome. Chicken wings, fish sandwiches, subs...All great! What I love the most about Fletchers is how much they support the Olney community. They put up flags along Georgia Ave around each holiday and one of their employees even cuts the grass in the center median area between them and the Exxon station. I have yet to see any other gas station in Olney contribute to the greater good of the town. Places like Fletchers are what makes this town so special. read more

I just went today to get my car wash I payed for the Deluxe in and out they didn't clean the car well inside and the later when get back home I had many new scratches on my car they didn't take good care of my car well so now I won't be going back there anymore. read more

The service in the convenience store is good, gas usually isn't the cheapest, however... FREE AIR. These people are golden, and I will send more business their way, because they offer free use of the air pump for their customers. read more

Excellent Service. Bobby Fletcher is known as a solid business man who runs a solid business and gives back to his community. This place has car washes as well. I must say the car washes are a bit overpriced. I recently paid $18 to have my car cleaned only on the outside. The guys drying the cars always forget to get the spots on the mirrors,below the mirrors, and by the trunk ledge, so I always find dried wax sitting on there...very annoying. I've been here a few times for various car ailments, and I can say that these folks are super honest, treat the female half of the population with utmost respect, and charge reasonable prices - and have a car wash to boot! I went here to get an oil change in the fall, and over the winter, had a small oil leak develop. They checked it over, said it wasn't coming from any of the usual spots, and told me frankly that if it was they suspected (an oil pan leak), they wouldn't do that job anyway. They advised me to go to the dealer, and told me that since my vehicle was so new, it ought to be covered under the warranty. Appreciated the honesty from them (thankfully the dealer concurred with their excellent diagnosis!) and will reward them in the future with oil changes. They take appointments, look at your check engine light and tires, and they will fill your propane tank as well. Stellar staff and the right price. (Had a nice little conversation with an older woman while I was waiting recently - she asked me if it was my "first time." She said she recommends this place to all her lady friends from the retirement community nearby. "They treat women right." 'Nuff said.) read more

I love Fletcher's. The car washes are a little on the expensive side, but it is worth is for the great, friendly customer service you receive. It is a family-owned business that contributes a lot to the community. The deli is good as well. Great gas station if you need work done on your car and they even have a deli inside the building where you can get fried shrimp, chicken, sandwiches, etc. one thing I love is the chicken salad wrap! The attendants are all helpful. read more

This place used to be good for a car wash, but in the past few times I have gone I have been less and less satisfied. I feel like when you charge $30 for a "deluxe in and out" car cleaning that's what you should get. They didn't even TOUCH the inside of my car, let alone vacuum it. Here goes. Fletcher's is a scam, a crooked, unprincipled business. I brought my car for Brakes inspection and was told that I need new brakes, that my brakes were shot and that I shouldn't be driving the car as is. I made an appointment to have my breaks replaced for the our months later, I heard a concerning noise coming from my front brakes that alerted me. I brought the car in to Fletcher's and was advised that the front brakes needed replacing. I expressed my frustration to Ted, the manager, but he said these things happen. When I had picked up the car that evening, I was handed a second bill for $1,200 for the front brakes and was warned that my timing belt needed replacing. I asked Ted to quote me a price for a replacing the timing belt and he quoted me $1,600. I thought it was too high and told him so, and when I got home decided to call around other auto repair shops in the Olney-Ashton area. The price-quotes I received where between 50% and 70% lower than Fletcher's. For example, to replace the timing belt, which includes Includes: timing belt water pump with gasket timing belt tensioner timing belt idler automatic ...etc., I was quoted for parts and labor (complete) between $725 and $910, nearly $1,000 less than Fletcher's quote. I then asked these other auto repair shops how much it would have cost me to replace the rear and front brakes with rotors, shoes and pads on my Toyota Camry, I was told between $565 and $790 (parts and labor) or $1,600 less than I'd paid Fletcher's for the same work. My advice: Stay clear of Fletcher's for they will rob you blind. Call other auto repair shops in the Olney-Ashton area and get second and third quotes for your car repair needs. You'll be happy you did and save a great deal of money for your effort. read more

I went and had my car washed. The attendant broke my transmission shift cover (in the car). Bobby Fletcher came out. Saw the broken part. Asked me a few questions. Ordered the part. In a week they called. Took me in without an appointment. Had the part installed and looking like new. I was out in 20 minutes. THIS is why Fletcher's is the best and receives awards year after year. They truly take care of their customers. I will continue to use their services and recommend them to everyone. read more

This is an exceptional repair shop! I just moved to the area and was looking for a place I could trust because car, parts and all that other stuff is not my specialty. I took my car for an oil change and immediately fell in LOVE. The reps were so kind and super quick! A few weeks later I received a "Thank you" card in the mail for choosing Fletchers and a service reminder. I was hooked! I'm a sucker for Thank you cards. A few months later, I had an issue with a "service light". After the dealership scared me into thinking my car would blow up.....Fletchers came to the rescue again. Greg worked on my car and gave me a full report around the concerns with my vehicle. He was soooo knowledgeable and was completely patient with my learning curve. Here is the KICKER.... He remembered me from my oil change!!!! That may be small, but to me....it was a BIG gesture around how Fletchers really cares and wants to know their customers. I don't live in Olney anymore but I was on my way home and had a problem with my tire, which another business claimed to have just fixed less than a half hour before. Brandon was great and very friendly. He was willing to take a look at my tire even though they were getting ready to close. He explained everything he was doing and didn't make me feel as stupid. So grateful he was there to help! Next time I need service done I will definitely go out of my way to bring it to Fletchers. Thanks again!!! read more

I scheduled on Monday for my car to get a MD auto safety inspection on Tuesday, to be ready by 11:00 am on Wednesday. I was promised this by Ted. I took my car to Fletcher's by 2 pm on Tuesday. I was told by the man at the front desk that he couldn't promise my car would be done by Wednesday at 11 am because, although I had an appointment for Tuesday, three cars had been physically dropped off on their lot on Tuesday before I got there, so he told me he couldn't guarantee the car would be ready by 11 am the next day as I had scheduled with Ted on Monday. I asked him where another inspection could be obtained. He laughed and said, "You might try across the street." That gas station didn't even have a repair shop, which the Fletcher's employee knew before he sent me there. So not only did they not honor my appointment, they knowingly and purposefully directed me to a gas station that wasn't equipped to do the work I needed. They are jerks (and that's insulting to other jerks) and, as I told them before I left, they lost a customer and that I was going to post a poor review on Yelp. The guy just shrugged. I don't recommend this business to anyone, unless they want to be mistreated and lied to. read more

Well I like Fletcher's as a gas station the main draw for me is the friendly courteous help, but especially the excellent and well priced deli sandwiches made to order, as well as the pre-made ones what you're always fresh and really good. Always disappointed with the car wash. I don't know why I keep going back & wasting my money. Maybe because this car wash is the only one around for many miles. Took my car to the car wash today ... not vacuumed properly & not properly dried afterwards so I can see water spots on one side of the car. Agree with some of the other comments that reflect attention to detail. I took my Truck there twice because my three year old loves it. I might be back. I thought I would be getting better service for the additional cost but I did not. Both times The running boards weren't pressure washed or wiped down and The rims came out dirty. On Sunday I noticed a dash warning light. Not knowing what it meant I was concerned and went to Fletchers. Though they were closed an employee in the office opened the door and came out. Explained it was low tire pressure. He directed me to last bay and put air in all my tires. Can't ask to better service. How many other businesses would do that? I've been using Fletchers' business for the last 17 years, but will no longer spend my hard earned money here ever again. I took my vehicle here for a Maryland State inspection, and was given a laundry list of items that ultimately passed at another auto service location. What incensed me the most was the fact that they told me I had to replace the WHOLE headlight assembly on both sides, which cost $900 each (luxury vehicle). There were a few very minor scratches on the sides, which weren't anywhere near the projection of the headlight bulb and I ultimately passed after buffing them out with a simple headlight restorer agent. I will go to Graeves from here on out because they actually provide a friendly aura, whereas Fletcher's makes you feel the negativity they exhibit as soon as you walk pass the threshold of their office. Terrible customer service in the store. I used the UPS to have a package delivered here while u was out of town - app said I could pick up until 8p. Arrived at 7:20p and the 3 employees behind the counter told me that only the manager, Alan, could work the UPS box. And he was gone. They said I'd have to come back the next day. I told them I couldn't get back before the UPS deadline of 8/3. Pat reached Alan in the phone and said he'd be back at 8 and there until 9. I killed time and came back at 8:20p. You guessed it - no Alan. It was like a Three Stooges movie - Pat and a bearded man now working the desk telling me to check out the back door, then in front, then finally admitting Alan wasn't there. He just left. Then Pat tells me that the UPS closes at 8! I remind him that I was there before 8, and HE told me to come back at 8 and Alan would be there until 9! So Pat finally reached Alan on the phone. Alan comes back at 8:45p. Not a word of apology from any of them, not a mention of what had happened... Later I realized that this is probably a drug drop or some other shady way of people receiving packages - I will never use this UPS feature at Fletcher's again and after the shoddy indifferent treatment I received, my family won't be using the gas station, store or garage ever.
