Extremely dishonest and unprofessional experience. I went to Montgomery Mall Exxon for a simple inspection service that I clearly authorized. Later, they added extra work to my bill that I never approved and could not provide any signed authorization for. When I asked for proof, none was provided. I've had to dispute the charges with my bank and provide evidence showing how they fabricated the transaction. This kind of conduct shows a serious lack of integrity. Avoid this place if you expect honesty or accountability. read more

The manager/owner was patient, professional, and genuinely tried to help. Even though the footage was no longer available, they took the time to review the situation and provided a written confirmation for my insurance. The rest of the staff was also polite and helpful. Gas and service stations serve many purposes for people. For us, this Exxon station was an oasis after the longest traffic-ridden delay run on I-95 on our way back from the beach in North Carolina. In our moment of need, this special place appeared as the first gas station we could find. I ran into ask for a bathroom key, and the attendant (sensing the urgency in my voice - that of a father with two bladder bursting children) immediately gave it to me without even a hint of hesitation. The bathroom was in really good condition too. Outstanding even. Well done Exxon! I highly recommend this rest stop for anyone! read more

Bethesda is popular town off route 495 near DC I happened to be near a Mall where I spent a couple of hours killing time before a church wedding. This gas station was on a turning corner right next to another competitive brand which told me that this corner was the most popular turn in the town by the mall. Why I chose Exxon over the other station had nothing to do with price. Only reason is that Exxon has been my preferred station between the both. Station was clean, but busy. Prices were a bit high, but I am assuming it was because we were near the mall. read more

This is one of two gas stations I go to on my way home. I like Shell's station for the bathroom 96% of the time. I like the Exxon gas station for drinks, snacks and gasoline. Exxon is normally my gas station of choice when I am on the road. Guess my dad has something to do with that when I was a kid. I like the small talk with the staff members here. I have noticed the last two times I was here, there was a disagreement between staff member and customer. One time the police were called. Nevertheless, I got along with the staff members. I did enjoy watching the female officer tell it like it is to the customer. The male officer stepped aside when the female officer started talking. He had one of those looks men see on their wives when it's time to shut up and let the business get concluded...but I digress. These two gas stations I got to and it is almost always a pleasant experience. I just think the bathroom needs more attention. Way to many fingerprints. Just a thought... read more

My Girlfriend and I come to the area to visit our friends who live locally about once a month. We have been to this mall several times for both the movie theater and to browse the shops. We received a price from a local Toyota dealership to replace the sway bar & assembly on my daughters '08 Camry. It cost me $80 just to have them look at it, which took them maybe 10 minutes to diagnose & tell me $1500. Decided to try a 'hometown garage'. We didn't tell Chris about the prior diagnosis - we just wanted to hear what he found. He provided the same diagnosis but advised us that it could be REPAIRED instead of replaced, at MUCH less cost! I went to the station this morning,my tank was on empty. I traveled all the way from Great Falls Virginia I knew I could not get back without gas. Unfortunately, I left my purse at home with no money in the car. The owner Chris was so nice and gave me five dollars to get home. I went for an oil change... the staff was very friendly and didn't try to tac on extra charges, which is a huge concern for me and why I stopped going to jiffy Lube. I took my car in for an inspection today without an appointment. They were able to start work on the car almost right away. Surprise... It failed. But it's OK, because there were simply 3 bulbs out. The service adviser was professional and straightforward and the mechanic (despite being busy) accommodated my schedule by taking in my car almost right away. I ran to Advance Auto Parts and replaced the bulbs and (in less than 15 minutes of coming back to the station) they had me back on my way. Thank you guys. read more

The location of this station is very convenient - it's my neighborhood ExxonMobil. Gas prices vary, and generally are higher than most regularly. However the main guy in the service department has got a terrible attitude and is likely to be rude and condescending. I come here just for the gas. read more

Honest guys. Good location. Plenty of parking. I had a timing belt, battery, water-pump, tune-up, oil change, wipers, and tires replaced by these guys. Fantastic work and great price. Chris the owner was very observant and made some great mechanical suggestions for a car I just bought. The car runs like a top now. I came in today with a blown out tire, and while they didn't have one to fit- apparently run flat tires are not standard ( yeah, won't be putting four of those on again) Chris made numerous phone calls till he found a shop that had one, giving me directions, & going above and beyond. I've been taking my here since I moved to Bethesda in 2005. George is fantastic to work with and has a great sense of humor. I've been given rides to the Grosvenor Metro on several occasions, too. Run down equipment and shady practices concerning gas prices. They constantly report lower prices in the Gas Buddy and Fuel Finder apps and when you get there, you find prices at least 10 to 15 cents higher. They attempt to lure in customers by reporting lower prices. This station is dishonest and should not be patronized. Expensive prices for all types of fuel. You are much better off going to a more honest and cheaper station. Definitely a place to avoid! read more

I went here for an inspection and left wondering.... first I was told that I couldn't get an oil change with my inspection because the guy was done for the day...then when the owner found out that I needed 2 inspections and 2 oil changes then he said sure and it would take 2 hours...1 hour later we got a call that it was all done. I came here for air -which they do have but isn't listed in the services section. I called ahead to ask if they offer an air filling station and the attendant who answered the phone was very rude. I also asked if it was pay with coins or card to which he said it was free. Turns out it's $1.50 and the sign says you must pay with coins. I did, and it ate my change. It also had a card reader slot so I ended up using that. It was a total pain but I ended up getting my tires filled up for $4.50 read more

My son had a flat tire. I called Montgomery Exxon and asked if they could help me. The very polite and kind man who answered the phone said bring it right on in and we'll fix it. I came in ,the gentleman greeted me warmly and had his technician fix the flat tire in a matter of minutes. He put everything back in perfect order. This was an extremely great service experience. While their Gas prices might be high the gentleman in the service bay were very helpful last weekend. I had a tire with a nail in it and they plugged it in a matter of minutes. Dishonest manager George!!! Talked to a manager George, in person, then over the phone regarding changing transmission oil and filter. Agreed on $180. Had my mother take the car to Exxon. He only drained the oil, put new one without changing the filter. Charged me $90 for oil change and $90 for a labor. $180 for just changing just an oil, without changing filter and not talking about the gasket, it is simply cheating! Ofcourse oil looks like it has never been changed. When confronted him, he disgracefully denied agreeing about changing the filter and refused to give me a refund. Had to take the car to the another mechanic and do everything all over again. read more

Terrible customer service. I came here for a service and was quoted a flat price. I never got a call that my car was completed. I saw an extra five dollar strange charge on my bill when I came to pick it up. I asked the lady who is the cashier at 3:35 PM what the charges for and she did not know and she said that they all left for the day. I asked her to call the owner, George, and she did. She gave me the phone I asked George what the five dollars was for. he said it was for "shop" supplies. I asked what type of supplies cost five dollars he said water and a rag and some break cleaner. I said rags cost $.75 a piece and reusable and water doesn't cost that much he said "no one's ever question me before" and I said "too bad." I believe expectation should be set up front and people should be taking a vantage of by service attendance don't even stick around to explain the work and leave to go home early. read more
