Beware of Shady Practices - State Inspection Concerns I took my car to this Liberty station for a Maryland State Inspection on September 11th, 2024, and unfortunately, I had a very questionable experience. Before handing over my car, I thoroughly checked everything myself and was confident that the car was in great condition. However, after the inspection, I received a call from the station manager telling me that my 3rd brake light (the center light) was out and that there was a leak with one of the rods. I was shocked because I had just checked all the lights, and everything was working fine. When I asked about the cost to fix the alleged leak, I was told it would be over $900. I decided not to go through with the repairs and picked up my car. A few days later, I took it to another nearby station for a second opinion. Before dropping the car off, I checked the brake light again and discovered that the 3rd brake light had been pulled out of its housing and clipped. I couldn't fix it immediately due to a fractured hand and informed the second station about it during the dropoff. My car had actually failed the inspection only because of the brake light--nothing else was wrong with the car, and there were no leaks. After fixing the brake light, I returned to the second station and my car passed the inspection without issue. The whole experience from the Liberty station felt extremely shady. I'm concerned that they were trying to overcharge me for repairs that weren't necessary and even fabricated the issue with the brake light. ***Like I said earlier, I checked the car out before dropping the car off. For anyone who isn't mechanically inclined, I would strongly recommend being cautious when dealing with this station. 7.9.23 I was running low on gas and this was the closest station. It was fine to get the job done, but I didn't like how small it was. Tight space between the pumps and one-way traffic means you have to wait until the car in front of you is done pumping as you can't drive around anyone unless there is no one at the adjacent pump. It certainly holds up the line. I would only come to this station if I was running on empty or if the station was vacant. read more

We all hope to have honesty when it comes to car repairs, since we rely on our cars daily. I am disappointed at the blatant dishonesty that was received from this station. This station should not be used nor allowed to check vehicles for state inspections because they will tell you that you need things that you don't just to get extra money out of you. I found this out after being given a list of costly items that were supposedly needed in order to pass the inspection. I take my car for maintenance at the dealership often, so I knew that this guy was lying when I saw that he failed my vehicle. I refused the list of repairs and decided to get a second opinion and my vehicle passed without any needed repairs. Be warned about going to this place or at least get a second opinion!!! read more

CONSUMER ALERT! If I could give this place a zero rating I would. So on 2/17/25 sometime after 6:15pm but way before 7:30pm my mother-in-law and her husband, a Navy veteran, stopped by this place. They stopped here on behalf of my wife as her Volvo was having issues. Mom and her hubby just replaced the battery prior and were seeing a weird message. They took it on a test drive and the car warned them they needed to pull over ASAP basically. They stopped at the Liberty and spoke to the manager there of the mechanics. He looks at my friends USA Navy hat, and proceeds to tell him he should know better because Volvo is a German car. The manager then proceeds to tell them to just drive around and give the car time to recognize the battery, let the car run a bit longer. They drove out of Liberty and on to 355. They couldn't even get to their turn just off West Deer Park and East Deer Park when the car shut down in the middle of the street!!! About 600 FEET from Liberty!!! They had to call a tow truck to tow the Volvo less than a mile elsewhere. As a result of this incompetent manager, he costs my family an additional $300. He could've also costs them their lives! The manager should've suggested to leave the vehicle with him and that his people will take a look at it tomorrow as there could be more that meets the eye. Dude came off nonchalant and not trying to help or provide service. This according to mom and her hubby. First impressions mean everything and this was a very bad one. Not only is my mom's husband a NAVY veteran, but he also is a retired employee for WRC-TV, NBC 4 in D.C. area. He has worked on cars for over 50 years as he felt it was probably the alternator that is the issue when he initially heard the problem. The other place where they took the car after the Liberty debacle, said it was an alternator issue. Now how hard would it have been for that Liberty manager to do his actual job and help a paying customer out? Stay the heck away from this place!!! You've been warned!!! read more

Very clean Gas station, Gas prices are cheaper than other gas stations,i've been coming here since the new owners took over. They have a mechanic shop as well,i took my car for some suspension work, the labor estimate was very reasonable, they hooked me up with the parts as well. Friendly staff and Professional and i got 4 tires for my sister's car also they did a great job (price and quality wise) and i was offered couple of brands from the chinese imports all the way to name brand tires with an Alignment. It's not the best gas station ever and it's not the worst. Gas is a bit cheaper here than it's competitors too the left and the right. The pumps also work in the middle of the night (wee hours of the morning) as opposed to the Exxon who's pumps show no love after dark. It isn't the prettiest, there's a small selection of snacks etc and the lot is tight quarters though so navigate with care. Neighborhood is decent and I didn't get mugged at 2 am so I'd say this joint is a go. read more

Alert/ Alerta. I took my car for oil change, I requested if I could have a service right away and they agreed. After waiting for a half an hour I was told that the car was ready . I paid and I left . the next day my car showed the add oil light. I checked the oil and I noticed that my car was empty, I noticed that they didn't change the oil At all. I took the car back to the shop and they just laughed at me. I waited over an hour. I will never trust this people again. read more

While I was traveling to Frederick I had to make a quick stop along the way and found this service station. The tire indicator light came on and I made a stop. The mechanic Don was helpful by checking my tires and discovered my tire pressure was low on 1. He helped me add and air andsent me on my way. Never used this station before, except to get gas. I got screw in my tire and it had a slow leak. I had to get it fixed fast since I needed to get to work. I didn't really think of this shop even though they are within walking distance. I tried three tire stores who all told me 2-5 hour wait. So out of desperation, I thought I'd give the "local" gas station a try. Not only could they get me in right away, the cost to fix the flat was half that of what the tire stores were going to charge me. read more

Awesome place! I had a screw in my tire and they were able to save it with a patch. I was in and out in 20 minutes and it costs me $18.50. They're very honest and do a great job. The manager, Sebastian, and my automotive technician, Vril, are so attentive, fast and helpful that I'm always impressed that my older car is so well cared for every time I go in. I don't write reviews at all, but I have to share this experience with the public. If I could give a half star I would. This liberty & its "certified auto mechanics" are thee absolute worst. I've only dealt with them on two occasions, the first for a MD state inspection and the second for a thorough look at my rear brakes & front-end/rear-end suspension system. Long story short the f**king "certified auto mechanic" some how "forgot" to tighten the lug nuts on my rear wheels, after telling me what the issues were & not to worry about anything falling off or breaking BUT to tend to the issues in a timely manner. Two days after the thorough inspection there was a continuos knocking sound from the rear of my car, but me not being cautious I just thought it was the rear suspension that needed to be replaced, like he told me. The sound became louder & louder, then I felt the rear of the car sway from left to right. Now you don't have to be a damn genius to know cars aren't supposed to do that. With my lady & daughter in the car, I jump out immediately to just see, long and behold every single last lug nut was loose and at the end of each wheel stud. I can't imagine what would've happened if those things came flying off. By the grace of god we made it home. I called the shop & of course no manager & no mechanic was there. So currently the cashier said he'll call his manager & have him get in touch with me in the next hour. I'm currently on the phone with my personal lawyer to see what actions can take place. I'm not looking for money, I'm not looking for free service. I just wanted this to be known! DO NOT TRUST THESE FOOLS WITH YOUR RIDE. Get gas & go! read more
