We enjoyed the adjoining shop and their selection of jams and spread. The wait was worth it! The room is a bright large room overlooking the river. Handmade quilts hang from the ceiling. We started with nachos, that had the right blend of cheese and toppings. Unfortunately there were no side plates brought, causing us to eat like animals from a common trough. A slight mishap with a spilled glass of water interrupted our otherwise pleasant appetizer. The server's attention was less than prompt causing us to get extra napkins from directly behind the counter. Still, we soldiered on and prepared for the main feast. The seafood chowder was one of the better ones all trip. Fresh and flavourful pieces in a cream broth, served with a fresh side biscuit. The real opportunity is to highlight the delicious jams and spreads from the shop which would add some much needed flavour to the biscuits. Careful not to accidentally drive past! We were greeted immediately upon entering and service remained very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The food is tasty and portions are extremely generous for the price. We ordered a seafood chowder and the bowl was filled to the brim -- it turned out to be 2 bowls' worth of some of the best chowder on the island! I would highly recommend a stop here on your way in or out of PEI.
