We also really enjoyed their subs. They have ample meat and offer a lot of toppings. They also have homemade pizza and other hot dishes like lasagna. We enjoyed the adjoining shop and their selection of jams and spread. The wait was worth it! The room is a bright large room overlooking the river. Handmade quilts hang from the ceiling. We started with nachos, that had the right blend of cheese and toppings. Unfortunately there were no side plates brought, causing us to eat like animals from a common trough. A slight mishap with a spilled glass of water interrupted our otherwise pleasant appetizer. The server's attention was less than prompt causing us to get extra napkins from directly behind the counter. Still, we soldiered on and prepared for the main feast. The seafood chowder was one of the better ones all trip. Fresh and flavourful pieces in a cream broth, served with a fresh side biscuit. The real opportunity is to highlight the delicious jams and spreads from the shop which would add some much needed flavour to the biscuits. There was a lot of outdoor seating, a picnic table under a gazebo and a large patio overlooking the water. There was a full wheelchair ramp that went into the cafe and also right to the patio. The woman working there was lovely. She told me that there were more treats that she was still putting out in the showcase and to tell her what we wanted based on the tags. A butter tart square (that looked mass produced, like you can buy lots of places across the country) for my husband. A chocolate peanut butter swirl for me - which turned out to be a homemade chocolate peanut butter snack cake with icing. I was pretty happy with my choice. :)
